Uhhh, why is mission 32 a main op again? That was easier, simpler and shorter than most of the side ops I've done lol

e: hahaha, and now
some kid named Ralph died
? Man, what a weird scene

I hate this mission with a passion. Gave up on doing it stealth. Tried to do it using sniper rifle and same shit. Way too many enemies. Any tips because I can't see getting Malak out without taking most of these guys out since
you can't fulton him

Here's the way I did it, with an S rank, in about 3 minutes.

At the start of the mission ignore the first pass that leads into the palace, but rather go around the hill near the route out of the camp.

Lean on the right side of D. Horse and slowly approach the jeep in which Malak is sitting. The guards should not notice you until you are next to the car. You probably can simply hijack it, but for good measure in reflex mode I headshotted the four guards nearby. Get off your horse, jump into the van and drive away. Tank is not a problem as you'll lose it in a jiffy.

Use your idroid to command her to scout areas and go to sniping points. The options are on the main map menu.

She is damn near useless at first because her rifle does not have a suppressor. But she will be awesome later.

Jeez, thanks dude. Did not know about that feature. Grated I haven't read a single line of the help sections of the manual BUUUTTTT who the hell does that?!!?!?

Just finished Mission 31/Chapter 1 overall

Though it was frustrating at first, godDAMN what a bossfight.

I've only just started the game and fultoned a very good combat oriented solider, but he's been in the brig for a while now. Does he become available to use eventually?

Tranq and foulton every guard you see? Didn't have that much trouble with it.

OK so you guys didn't let him get driven off? That's the part I'm having trouble with. The area is ridiculously heavily guarded. Maybe I'll just restart.

That was such a weird fucking scene lol

Boss even has like an idle animation going on in it, where he keeps looking around him etc like he's just waiting for an elevator to arrive

I was watching that scene unfold just hours ago, it was awkward at the start and then the music starts playing and all the time the only thing on my mind was "is this supposed to be an epic moment or something?"

Almost every cutscene in this game is weird or awkward in some way or form. So bizarre.

I never seem to be able to connect to the servers. I think in the last five times I've played this only once did I connect.

Anyone else having this issue?

Man, ocelot is pretty goddamn lame in this game.

If you told me before this came out that Revolver fucking Ocelot was the most boring character in MGS5, I wouldn't have believed you.

Nah man, that's not the problem with Ocelot,

The problem is him TELLING ME HOW TO AVOID THE SNIPER EVERY GODDAMN TIME.

ffs, does he not remember me beating the legendary sniper back in 1964?

PRO TIP:

On the map screen, press up and down to cycle through things like markers, helicopter landings, and quiet scouting/attacking spots.

I feel like a lot of time could be saved if someone posted a FAQ on the top page with all the stuff people ask every page, like how to access the zoo, how to fast travel, etc.

It doesn't work because you'll get detected when you run, also it's situation in that enemies might be on top of a building or somewhere else and if I can get close to them then why wouldn't I just put them on a chokehold ?
The rocket fist flies super far at rank 1 with half battery and keeps going in a straight lies after the battery runs out. You don't need to be close to hit people with it and it's silent. Snake yells when he does it, but no one here's it.

Maybe he remembered when I shot that legend when he was wheeled out of the door

Quick question (mission 45-related):

I'm resigned to losing Quiet, but will I still be able to craft her equipment once it's complete? I'd like to finish off developing her collection, if only for completionist purposes.

Nope

Anyone got hints for mission 40?

I tried the supply drop trick but it keeps missing? :/

Call in a sandstorm then drop it. She avoids it on a clear day

I'M THIS FUCKING CLOSE TO GIVING UP.

The nonexistent checkpoints. The constant banal travel. The fact I can't take more than 2 hits if I try to stealth a mission and it goes loud. Filler quests everywhere. The ridiculous grind to get equipment that you need for a stealthy build. Bullshit cheesetastic enemies. Skulls, tanks, choppers.

It's just too much. Too unfocused. Constant restarts.

The best way to understand the differences between Quiet and D-Dog is to look at the former like a scout who operates semi independently of you, and the latter like a member of your squad who follows close behind you. DD is more about spotting, sticking with you, and acting as either a distraction via barking or kill assist on command. Spotting is his only passive skill, everything else must be delegated on a per command basis. With Quiet you wont have her by your side, but you need to delegate an area for her to observe, which you can do on the map. Scout/Attack and then a selection on the map, which is basically any major location or location represented by a dot point. EG: with scouting she'll travel there, infiltrate undetected, try mark a bunch of dudes, then find a vantage point and wait. From there you can have her start firing, mark targets, or operate in tangent with your own skills (like shooting thrown grenades to change their trajectory).

While she doesn't have the utterly insane spotting abilities of DD, nor sticks by your side and is thus useful for whatever you're looking at, she's extremely useful support when you need to clear an area as she can kinda operate independently and take down dudes.

Drop a weapon, not ammo, and when its like 15 meters from landing pop your head up so a shot is taken, keeping the enemy busy while it falls on them. Might still miss a couple times but it'll work.

Don't call a sandstorm if you want a S rank.

Get yourself DD, and you won't be ever surprised by enemies anymore.

Wait a minute? You can change weather??!

So I've just finished Mission named (I keep forgetting the numbers)
Sahelanthropus.
Is kid Mantis ever going to be acknowledged in any way by anyone? I mean, I've seen him give Eli the vial, so there's obviously some post-credits shiz to go down, but wee Mantis (along with Man on Fire) seem to be brushed off constantly by everyone and completely ignored. Is he even wee Mantis? Why is nobody talking about this kid!?

Edit: best to separate those spoilers into two.

I only just got him. And even he needs grinding to unlock his ability to stun enemies rather than kill them. Why? What's the point. Why am I being punished for playing stealthily. It's Metal Gear FFS.

Or is it Metal Gear?
