Was wondering what the constant buzzing following me everywhere was.

Stinking Snake
Yeah I haven't showered in ages. But can enemies smell you? I did my first mission with DD and a lot of enemies were turning around suspicious as I snuck up on them.

Wasnt sure if it was DD tramping around or Snake's smell?

My Snake is covered in blood but I saw screens of Snake's face covered in mud/grime. How do you get that look?
 
Miller should say immediately that he's gonna send the chopper closer or in other words, you have to call in the chopper yourself on your iDroid to 3 different LZs that now in the immediate vicinity. However, the trick now is to make sure you time the call right while stunning Fire Volgin because that mofo will blow up your chopper while you're on it.

There is another way. Keep fighting and you will see. I'll let you figure it out though. :D It actually would be the easiest way too.

The cutscenes and dialogue are extra fast now. So fast I can't even see what's being said. Anyone else have/had this issue?

PC version by the way.

Holy shit. I didn't even know that was possible. For that mission I ran
with the cripple
while calling in supply drops to get suppressors.

This fucking game.

Also you totally CAN fulton the tanks in the side-ops. That fucking blew my mind when I was putting C4 on there and didn't even think of just fultoning the bitch.
 
How many big areas (e.g. Afghanistan) are in the game? And is there a snowy area? Enclose it in spoiler tags if you like.
 
Quiet is absolutely insane, when she does what you want.

I had huge problems with Mission 42, which is a very cheap mission.

But give her Sinful Butterfly, place her on the tower far behind the chopper and just hide on the roof or something. She brutalizes those guys. I got S Rank but I didn't do all that much myself, lol. I guess I could've also used the Brennan, lol.
 
I just unlocked weapon customisation. The level of depth the gameplay has is just blowing my fucking mind. Just.... holy shit. If this game doesn't get GOTY I'm going to eat my shoes.
 
I've had an Anesthesia Specialist in my base for a few hours now, and the description says something about him enabling tranquilizer round conversion for handguns, but I'm not seeing anything like that in my research tree or in the gun customization. Is there something else I need to do or am I misunderstanding what that means?
 
Woo, got all the specialists. Also noticed (late game equipment)
I can now have a tranq pistol with penetration, screw you, tin hats

Try limiting FPS using RTSS, if that doesn't work (or you're already doing it) I don't know what to tell you. You'd probably have more luck getting help in the PC performance thread.
 
Any tips for mission 16 would be nice, because I feel like I'm going about it wrong.

Im blocking a part of the road with a truck waiting for them to drive by. After the skull things pop out of the truck I quickly extract every vehicle except mine and desperately try to drive away. After they destroy my truck I just get out making a break for the out of hotzone area on foot, while hitting them with w/e I have (this includes rockets). I almost made it the last time, but they got me near the end.

I got to the truck at the airport and then triggered the Skulls once the two armored vehicles showed up then jumped into the larger one and laid waste to them

If I remember right, I needed him to convert a sniper rifle to tranq rounds, don't remember seeing a pistol option anywhere either.

Why are you using a truck instead of D-Horse or D-Walker? With the latter you can actually kill them.

It's just about unlocking more weapons for development as usual with a specialist. Some of the guns he's required for are modified standard weapons.
 
OK so you guys didn't let him get driven off? That's the part I'm having trouble with. The area is ridiculously heavily guarded. Maybe I'll just restart.

I did. I didn't have any notable problems with that either. In fact I cannot remember what the next place is. Just tranq anyone afar and call in supplies whenever needed.

XOF outfit from the prologue
and she looks so bad ass.

I actually completely forgot he existed (D.Walker) until I read your post, lol.
 
Dammit, I forgot to grab the music tape in mission 18. Got excited by progression and forgot to go back for it after taking out a bunch of guards.
 
Well it's no Kojima trick but I figured out an easy way to do Extreme
Metal Archea - D-Walker with the upgraded Gatling gun and ammo capacity. 1500 rounds were enough, and it was fun as hell to boot with the gliding all over the place lol
