Why the hell can't I find the MGSV OST & vocal albums? Nothing comes up on iTunes except the companion app. Google turns up old shit. Come on.

This fucking game. Goddamn it's good. Not sure how much I like it as a MGS game. But it's probably the best sandbox game I've ever played.

Anyway, I'm only at like mission 16 and have played for many, many hours. I thought I'd hate the side ops but they are so fun because they are unranked. It's like a giant sandbox where you can dick around. Which I loved to do in past games, but it was always in measured quantities or if I needed to relax. Now I get rewarded for it! :)

Btw, how do I find my play time?

Regarding side ops 144

Where the hell is Volgen? Ended up catpuring the whole base, can't find him.

He's standing
right in the middle of the base. Like, not inside a room or anything. Right at the middle.

Don't worry, you, me, and half this thread spent forever looking for him haha.

Are you guys finding Quiet to be all that useful? DD seems pretty OP and I don't want to use anyone else.

Completely OP for some bosses/special encounters, can just find a safe spot and let her do the work if you wanted. A little cumbersome if you want to micro manage her attacking and coordinate it with things you're doing.

I don't have the console on now but I think it's options > records and then play records or somthing.

Here and Here.

This is the best Mercenaries game I've ever played.

After a while that's exactly what I thought haha.

She is very much her own person. Don't look at her the same way as DD. I like to micromanage so DD is ace for me . You can have quiet just murine mother fucker of her own accord, silently even while you're just going for the goal.

So....uh.....

I'm spoiler tagging all of this - question for those who beat the game (not story related)

I just unlocked Mission 46 WITHOUT unlocking 45, which seems to completely contradict everything I've read online about getting to this point.

I have a pic to prove it if needed.

Ummmm - will I be missing anything if I play this now or is there anything else that I need to see first?

So I finally got a tranq sniper and it seems to knock out dudes for all of 20 seconds. What the hell man?

Does attaching a suppressor effect it?

I'm at the point where I need to replay old missions to progress. Man, they're so much harder, and not to mention frustrating. Having to go completely naked without buddies and air support, as well as almost no ammo or reflex makes finishing the mission extremely difficult. It definitely feels like padding.

Post mission 35 story details:
After getting back the mammal pod:

I freaking hate Huey now. As soon as I heard there was a body in the AI pod, I though "Oh...NO!" It's weird to finally get confirmation that Strangelove is Hal's mother. The story is really picking up, but I feel like Eli has been somewhat ignored. It's implied that they're taking him somewhere, but it's taking a while, and I really like his character.

The game teaches you that objectives are usually hidden, now it was out in the open.

Thanks.

This game is my new meditation. The mechanics are so good. Also, Neon knights is the best song for the helicopter speaker. Hearing "oooh, no! Here he comes again!" as I'm making my exit never gets old. I fear I'm getting addicted to that support flare, nothing like doing the deed and having the chopper covering you from the other side of a mountain.

Too much spoilers (properly tagged)! Why are you guys playing so much?

Anyways this OT probably needs to keep a FAQ going, because I am sure this question has been asked before. But what do the blue lit radio things found indoors do when you explode them? Because I have no way of destroying them without making noise (I swear I had a supressor on that rifle) and it doesn't seem to have any effect when I do.

So without story spoilers, how does replaying older missions to advance the story work? There no difficulty setting...even though some reviews mentioned that you had to pay them on a higher difficulty...

And is it super tedious? And what if I've got good tasks in the previous ones?

Just do some side op's ...story stuff will unlock.

She's all I use. She can take out whole outposts by herself, and can be helpful when you are pinned down or fighting special enemy encounters like the skulls.

Do side op's instead.

Side Ops are kind of boring. I only do the yellow ones.
I managed to finish the mission though. Still, it is kind of annoying. I feel like it should be a Side Op and not an episode.

Old missions but either full stealth or on extreme difficulty (no reflex, weapons, insta-death, etc) so they count as newly numbered missions with their own tasks.

And yes its a massive pain but luckily you can do side ops to progress (which is still tedious)

If you don't want Quiet to randomly kill/tranq people, remember to choose Cease Cover. She will still be "on guard" if you forget to switch cover off.

I've been having a great time with her as my Buddy, we're unstoppable.
