Mission... 29? 30?
jesus extracting the old man took like two hours between dying to the skulls like five times and also getting the old man shot by a chopper accidentally because I fucked up on whether there was an extra landing zone or not

I still don't understand what destroying the blue glowing comm console does... I thought it was the little satellite dishes that stopped the outer post contact?

For that mission
I just got Quiet to kill the skulls for me lol

I googled the solution.

Game is straight up garbage for that.

I didn't google the solution, but I did think it was incredibly stupid.
I hate micromanaging the MB and I don't want to go through 200+ soldiers looking for one specific trait to put them in Quarantine. Very dumb.

Question about a side objective in mission 13:
Does rescuing the child soldiers unlock any cut scenes back at mother base? I'm wondering if I should go back and do it. It's just kind of a pain because you can't fulton them and all 4 don't fit into a jeep to drive to a landing zone

They both work the same. Satellites can be taken from a distance, console requires up close infiltration.

So I just picked this up from Best Buy today for 10 bucks after GCU, 2 trades and a $10 coupon. This is my first MGS and I am only interested because of the new direction this game took that has positive feedback. Don't think I will start playing it till I am done with DA Inquisition though.

Also does anyone know when I will get a preorder bonus coupon from Best Buy for picking this up through preordering?

This game is making me feel somewhat frustrated.
I usually hate stealth in games but here it's so great that I can't play any other way. I have killed like 3 guys in 40 hours and it was only to see how it was
But many things are telling me the game wanted me to first go the rampage route and then use stealth when replaying stuff.

I'm having a really great time playing this but I can't shake off the feeling that I skipped a step or something.

3 kills in 40 hours. I'm guessing you either runaway a lot or you abuse chrckpoints. Or do you not carry any lethal weapons?

Christ, Mother Base really is shit, isn't it? I'm looking for Quiet (having randomly found her before) and my map is useless. There are 100s of 'non-doors', each bridge is 100km long, there's little to do other than target practice... What is the point of this place? (outside of the story, of course) Argh. Seems like a ton of wasted time and development right now.

So you guys are telling me I'll be seeing much more visceral sequences later in the game after that breathtaking Hospital prologue? Game started off with a bang, I hope it doesn't let off the gas.

Thanks man, dunno why it never came up in searches. Is there no physical option? Also, it says "selection", as if they didn't include all the tracks there on iTunes. A bunch of the original songs that are obtainable in the game (not the 80's tracks) are great, but they're not on here. Nitrogen, How About Them Zombies Ey, Midnight Mirage, etc.

She's down the stair on the medical platform.

Mother Base is really annoying to traverse though. I think the sense of scale definitely gives you a sense of home, what you've built, and what you're ultimately fighting fo.

Just use the box transportation system, it's easy to navigate with that.

And Quiet is usually on the medical platform. Ocelot points out where she is if you use the com.

I carry a rocket launcher for the side missions requiring me to destroy tanks and such, but otherwise I only play with the tranquilizer gun
I'm great at headshots apparently.

I'm developing the
child folton right now
, and I only realized I needed it when I got to the
kid on the tower.
Spent 10 mintues relocating staff to develop it and now I'm just sitting up here waiting for it to finish.

If I resort my staff and my R&D and Support levels drop below what I needed to develop that, will I not be able to use it anymore?

YO, DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT A BLACK CARROT IS?

Anyone?

Oh wait, never mind... Miller has told me about 428 times.

"Hey Quiet, kill everyone as I sneak around looking for resources and blueprints". I just did a main mission with her killing everyone with an unsilenced sniper rifle, not getting noticed once. I only killed like 5-6 people myself, she just kept moving from base to base committing mass murder.

So, what she was born to do then? ( ͡o ͜ʖ ͡o)

---

Also OH MY GOD. THE ANIMALS WILL KILL GUARDS! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!

The way some of these later missions are broken up in the middle of cutscenes is AWFUL. Kills any momentum or tension. The whole presentation of the story in this is...ugh.

Everyone on my base keep mentioning the animal platform but I can't find it....is it even somewhere on mother base? I want to see my zoo ;(

It's on a seperate platform that isn't connected to the others. It's in the top right corner of the MB map I believe (though I could be wrong).

Yup. Just experienced this for the first time. How this game got so many 10/10's is beyond me. It has so many issues.

How do you lift a cargo? I upgraded my fulton but it kept on failing when I try to lift it. Does that % have something to do with it? It show 0% but I have no idea what that is...

You got a glitch? He only told me about each plant the very first time I grab it.

Anyone else find the mission when Metal Gear is introduced to be scary. That shit was stuff of nightmares.
Yeah that shit was intimidating as fuck.

You need the Cargo 2 upgrade I think by getting the transport specialist (an optional prisoner in mission 10)

Nobody takes me serious :(

You need the next upgrade. Cargo 1 lifts mortars and gun emplacements, Cargo 2 lifts everything else.

Really?! LMAO!!!

That makes so much more sense. Yeah, every single time I pick up a plant, Miller tells me about it (at least, the first time in each mission).

Ahhh.. I see, I am only at mission 6 and came across a cargo and it says that cargo will be useful for the D Dog later on, but I can't lift it... Don't have the cargo 2 upgrade... :/

Wow! (Mission 27 Spoilers)
The fight with the sniper skulls was insane! The atmosphere was so good! I had Quiet with me and we kicked so much ass. She took out 2 on her own before sustaining too much damage and having to leave, but she also left the other 3 damaged. As I was taking on the final 3 I felt like I was in an action movie! Having to move quickly but silently, diving out of sight then readying my rifle for a quick shot. Sometimes a skull would teleport close to me and I would dodge her attacks then shoot her up with my assault rifle before shed teleport away leaving a nice grenade for me and I would dive away just before it exploded. *deep breath*. It was a really great battle :)
