So I'm up to mission 8. I think.

Anywho, the briefing says "Recommended Weapons(s): Missile". What does that mean? Should I develop a rocket launcher or is it referring to something else? The UI for this game is a little overwhelming tbh.

That would help, mission spoilers:
a vehicle which shoots missiles and has a very capable hand canon will make itself available later in the mission.

Yeah, 'missile' is an odd choice of word, they mean rocket launcher.

Friday I'm In Love is in a game set in the early 80's? Ok.

Jesus Kojima, at least go with A Forest since it was out then.

69 hours in 21% complete and just finished mission 13

Im really not good at video games

You know, for all the crap we give to how character development/interactions took a hit in this entry, there are few glimpses of brilliance in terms of family dynamic and bonding, notably with some scenes involving Quiet or Eli.

Get the
Gray Xof outfit, it's the full military suit from the opening of the game.
Personally I don't have a hard time ignoring her outfit.

It's definitely a completionist thing when you need to fulton/find everything, it gets rough having to recon on top of that.

How do you unlock that one?

Just made it to Africa and MAN did they amp up the guard's suspicions and field of view without giving you a damn reason. I thought the rain and foliage would give me more cover than Afghanistan did but I guess South African PF's mandate contact lenses or something.

you're wearing the wrong camo maybe?

I've been playing since Tuesday and I'm only at Mission 10 / 9%. I spend a lot of time on side ops and kidnapping everyone in sight. That shit takes time.

o.0

That's crazy haha. I'm at 12 hours and mission 8. What have you been doing?

I thought I was slow, lol. I'm about 38 hours in, and 19% complete. I think I just did mission 14.

Fucking virus knocked out 319 of my staff members (6 dead, 313 in quarantine) fml

...How? I'm 40% at 40 hours in

I am a completionist who is going for a no kill run (when possible) and all S ranks, first MGS game I have actually sat down and played too, I have done all the side missions multiple times to just improve my overall gameplay.

I spent this entire evening of around 6 hours doing one mission because I didnt do it to my own specification, I do not like shoddy stealth.

Just S ranked Mission 16. That was a great mission.

This is my GOTG so far. Gameplay and attention to detail reign supreme.

Ugh mission 30...

Everyone, all 500 people in this base, are cloaked in armor and Quiet can't even get in here. I guess this is maximum stealth mode but the tranq gun is useless here...

YO, DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT A BLACK CARROT IS?

Anyone?

Oh wait, never mind... Miller has told me about 428 times.

Weird, with me he only told me about the plants I haven't collected. Once I did, he never spoke of it again haha.

Well just got through the credits.
is chapter 2 as good as it looks or should I expect disappointment?

Great story beats, focus on doing side ops and leave the repeated missions. Don't expect anything so that you won't be disappointed.

How am I suppose to know who to
Quarantine
or not?

It seems to me that most people didn't listen to Codetalker's tapes, he mentions the word Kikongo 1000 times in those tapes.

So I finally beat 16 and S ranked in which makes the literal smallest possible sense to me. I ran into the area and as soon as I reached the truck (fuck you liars, you still fight
4 Skulls if you do it in the Air Force Base
) I lead them back to the side with the anti-air gun and proceeded to cut those motherfuckers in half because a rocket launcher OBVIOUSLY does less damage then bullets. Meanwhile while I was doing that Quiet had taken out every single other soldier with headshots from 15 miles away so I just drove the truck out and over the landscape.

I also beat the legendary
bear
who should've been the real last boss of this game, I believe. Seriously, he
punched me off my D-Walker and ate my face.

Was about to get though a story mission perfectly with no alerts, reflexes or kills.

Then as the chopper came in I go cocky and tried to take on a bear with my tranq gun and it did not go well for me.

Where's the option to get the iDroid to talk through your PS4 controller? My friend said he did it, but he's terrible at explaining how so I can't follow his instructions.

It's not the solution but the fact they do it in the first place after you spend X amount of hours picking people up.

It's irritating to high heaven.

I agree but at the same time
seeing my recruits die and the whole thing felt like The Thing which hit me in the feels and made me feel a sense of urgency haha. Thanks to side ops I have double the recruits now.

Finally did the early game mission
with the honey bee
at around 20 hours. I love this damn game.

I enjoy the cassettes but always listen to them in the ACC or on Mother Base. I handle business with the tunes, though. Oh, and the sound of the safety strap when getting on and off Pequod is so good. *zip-click* Let's go fuck shit up!

Guys I need help with quiet

how do you get close enough to her to tranq her? She always disappears and drops a grenade. I spent two hours on this but no luck so far. Can really use some advice. :(

It is in the controller options I believe, not in the audio options.

I love taking out bears. Pop em in the head once or twice and then book it, it won't follow you if you put enough rocks between you and it. Repeat 3-4 times, the bear will eventually fall asleep. Same strategy works on the Legendary Grizzly Bear side op.
