Yeah seriously, it's so awkward. Did they not finish recording these lines or something? No one can look at this scene and go "Yup that's a conversation, this flows nice, Snake would never have anything to retort here"

That blew my mind because it seems like Snake of all people would have something to say. That could have been a great argument but nope.

I feel like Kojima lost almost all his directing abilities with this. There will be scenes that are really good like the Code Walker intro but then you get Mission 30. There is no consistency to any of this.

Does the game get super framey for anyone else on the emblem customization screen? but only when trying to select words.

finally unlocked the legendary gunsmith....omg the customisations adds way more depth to the game...jesus

I've done the mission 3 times, did I finally get him for real?

That's why I think something is up, it's so unlike any other Metal Gear cutscene that it just feels so, so off. I cannot accept that it was intended.

I just finished the game. The story was a total wet fart. Even MGS4's story was kinda entertaining in its ridiculousness.

Is the so-called chapter 2 actually lengthy?

You did not finish the game. Not until you beat mission
46.
. There's new missions after
chapter 1 but some(not all as a lot make it out to be)are repeats of other missions like pw

Check out my new swag, brehs.

HOW THE FUCK DO I UNLOCK THIS?

Anyone else using the riot SMG? I'm having a hard time going back to the tranq pistol after using it. Using it in reflex pretty much guarantees a stun no matter how far you are. The stun seems to last just as long as the tranq too. The only issue is that you have to resupply somewhat frequently because the suppresor wears off.

I'm really hoping the meat of the story is in Chapter 2, and it's not so much an epilogue like in Peace Walker, because it's been super underwhelming so far.

QUESTION!

I just used my Afghan Lullaby cassette with speakers ON for the first and only time and it worked like a charm. I had set it in loop while I managed to make 5 soldiers fall asleep but then I noticed the thing stopped playing the lullaby. I thought it was strange so I checked my iDroid.

The lullaby's no longer there! WTF? Was that a self destroying cassette a-la Mission Impossible or something? Or did I get a glitch that erased the lullaby from my cassette library? I didn't see anything telling me it was a one-time only affair.

What gives?

Post mission 28,
the virus doesnt actually make any sense righg. How would one specific language be affected as though its making completely unique vocal chord vibrations. Did i misunderstand what codetalker said

No it's pretty stupid.
Lets say French got virus'd if I, an English speaker, said rendezvous or coup de tat or Raison d'etre would I get the virus?

What about languages that are really similar? What if I had an accent, how does it account for that aaaaaaaaaah so dumb

Well if you people say I didn't finish it I guess I didn't. :P I think I'll give it a rest for now though. The
epidemic
really soured my experience with the game near the end. That and the garbage bosses. And I was having such a marvelous time.

Finish the game.

There are like tons of tapes on the matter explained in great detail by
Codetalker.
Listen to dem tapes if you want your answers in great detail.

Mission 30
Boss, say something! Boss! BOOOOOOOSS

Mission 31
Is that L2 prompt when it's near death scripted? It obliterated me with its ray gun thing in one hit. Also fuck doing this mission for the third time now

Mission 40 feels impossible, crate trick doesn't work and you have maybe a second between shots :/

Edit: Well, found a cheap way to do it that restricts your ranking though, lol. Forgot that was an option.

I was hoping for a 'Big Boss turns to the darkside' thing going to occur based on what I've seen in the trailers/intro, but given the nature of cutscenes, it likely won't be satisfying even if it happened.

At the very least, given the Ch. 2 preview we watched and a certain short MB scene I just watched, it looks we're gonna dig deeper into Quiet's background which is something I look forward to at least since she's the most intriguing question mark in this game so far apart from Skull Face.

You're supposed to shoot mantis who appears in front of you in this instance.

Anyone know how to find the Conversation Objective for Mission 20? I've tried sitting in all the outposts in the mission for a while and listening to conversations, but it just hasn't happened yet. Is there some specific trigger for it?

that fucking raygun one shotted me about 10 times

fuck that mission

I think someone earlier perfectly described Mission 29 as a missing fight from Metal Gear Rising.

DAS ME

Seriously, there were so many times were felt like pressing the Ninja run and Parry button from MGR in that episode.

I hear those attack choppers guns could cut a man in half, you guys.
|OT2| Repeated words that kill

Oh. Figures
I would be reloading a rocket launcher at that precise moment

What am I not seeing in Mission 20
Can some give me tips for The Man on Fire fight
Head into the broken down warehouse. There are small blue water tanks spread throughout. When he comes by one of them, shoot one. It'll cause him to disappear for a bit. Call in your chopper for pick up. He'll get up during that time. Do it again but by the third time the chopper should already have you on it and be leaving.

Old age is getting to my eye sight, didn't even see those there. I was trying to shoot down the water towers, Kojima wasn't prepared for my out of the box thinking
.

It's kind of a shame that the story didn't quite shape up for something that was supposed to link the Big Boss story to the original Metal Gear. But the gameplay is so good it's kind easy to forgive that. What a weird turnaround for Kojima. I do like how they made almost all the exposition optional though. Brilliant move.

This game is nothing short of amazing the first 3-4 hours I have been playing it, especially that opening sequence.

I still need to get used with scouting out bases and what not but I guess it becomes easier once you can upgrade your gear and such.

Am I correct into thinking that there are armor pieces and gadgets that make your harder to spot?

you can destroy those too, just hit the red barrels at the bottom

Certain suits let you blend in easier on certain types of environment. There's also the box and whatnot, though I haven't actually used it yet, now that I think about it. I use the magazines quite a bit though, but I will try to mix up my stuff a bit more.

Anyone know what the shipping containers on MB are for?

Are they ones you have extracted? What is the effect on fultoning them? I have tried experimenting but the effect is not clear.
