It's kind of a shame that the story didn't quite shape up for something that was supposed to link the Big Boss story to the original Metal Gear. But the gameplay is so good it's kind easy to forgive that. What a weird turnaround for Kojima.

We win some, we lose some (though in this case, a lot on both ends)

Certain suits let you blend in easier on certain types of environment. There's also the box and whatnot, though I haven't actually used it yet, now that I think about it. I use the magazines quite a bit though, but I will try to mix up my stuff a bit more.

Suit pattern changes can never be done on the fly, right? Do I always have to call in an airdrop so I can change my appearance in a tiny box?

Mission 29 tip
use shotguns, the rock armor gets obliterated in 2 shots of the sawed off at close range, it also stuns them. It also does like 25% damage to their body per shell

As far as I know, yes. I usually don't go around changing much. For now I've been doing most of my stuff with the Desert Fox pattern. The Sneaking Suit has a massive black cock on it's back and it bothers me so much I decided not to use it for now, lol.

I guess it helps that the environment never really changes all that much from what I have seen thus far. This is no Snake Eater where I constantly had to change myself in order to be perfectly camouflaged against a brick wall.

Thank god for that. I do not think I could stand another game full of that.

Guys I'm asking again: is the Afghan Lullaby cassette a one time only deal? I used it once to make some soldiers go to sleep and it disappeared from my iDroid. Is that normal or did I get a glitch that made it disappear?

I'm no where near finishing the game, but i'd have hoped for something that would at least tie the entire saga thus far together. At least some sort of mention of such a thing.

If there's one big thing to look forward to, is that there's apparently a huge ass retcon by the end.

Just got DD! So cute, love my soldiers thanking me for rescuing a puppy they can play with. Once he fully grows and becomes a buddy can he die permanently? I remember some preview a long time ago said you could lose your buddies and I don't think I can stand losing my doggy pal.

Still think it should be "What? V's coming too huh"

i heard they just get fultoned back to base if they get too seriously wounded.

|OT2| Big Boss is Quiet
|OT2| Big Boss is Quiet, Kaz is not
|OT2| Snake, that's a black carrot
|OT2| Starring Kiefer Sutherland sometimes

I also find it funny that three out of the four recurring major characters in this game *Spoilers for MGS1 and MGS2*
die hilariously anticlimactic deaths later on, especially Huey but also Miller and Big Boss. Boss has some good fights before he goes out but is ultimately killed with a spray can and a lighter.

I'm a big fan of liner mgs....but this game shift to open world that would never suite it.

Mgs v decreases cut-scene, long conversation and it was known by those two and narrative ways.

Instead of those, they introduced motherbase and talk less character, just like a machine doing order.

Whew lad, that's a hot tip right there. Wish I'd known that earlier.

Yep I was getting mad so I aborted and redid my load out configuration.
they're more effective than explosives from what I could tell. Literally just loaded out with a sawed off and a bunch of other guns but I only ended up actually using the sawed off.

maybe Kojima can join Rockstar to create the ultimate open world game.

Holy hell.. I just got the (buddy spoiler)
tranquilizer sniper w/ silencer for Quiet
, and now I don't even have to fight anyone during normal missions anymore. I literally just say 'Cover me' and start fultoning the slew of sleeping bodies that appear before me.

There was one side op where by the time I took down one heavily armed enemy,
she
literally took out the remaining 3 AND all the poor bastard at a post I didn't even know was there...

Oh man I'm about to do mission 29... I'm so afraid now!!!
Like someone else said earlier,
bring a sawed off shotgun (rocket launcher obviously helps too). Quiet is also very useful. 31 is where the real pain is.

Miller and BB are indeed hilariously anti-climactic, but in the case of Huey, it's just plain depressing considering the amount of shit he gets, culminating in that giant fuck-up (pun intended) courtesy of Hal.

To each their own I guess. I always loved MGS but having to deal with all the codec calls and cinematics would prevent me from playing the games when I just had an hour or less to game. The new method of story telling and the PS4s suspend/rest mode have made this the best for me. The mission structure is also really cool, I just completed some side Ops while waiting for my SO to get out of the shower...

Lack of story really bums me out. I've lost most of my motivation and haven't even
finished chapter 1 yet.

I've
guessed the big twist already - with a fair degree of certainty. Skull Face turned out to be a really, really boring villain. I hate how no one talks or acts like their character. And the "linga franca" aspect hasn't panned out whatsoever.

Getting real tired of this.

So without story spoilers, how does replaying older missions to advance the story work? There no difficulty setting...even though some reviews mentioned that you had to pay them on a higher difficulty...

And is it super tedious? And what if I've got good tasks in the previous ones?

I found most of them sooooo easy with a fully upgraded Quiet.

Loving the more Western devoloped feel to the game, great work Kojima and crew.
This is exactly what I don't like about the game. To each their own, though.

|OT2| After the end of World War II, the fanbase was split into two—East and West

Ok, that one is reaching a bit

Concerning Huey, late game spoilers
planning to use Otacon to power his new Metal Gear and then accidentally killing Strangelove, plus killing Skullface. I'd say his fate was more than deserved.
