Again: help.
How do Anti Tank mines work? I try to use them in Back Up, Back Down on the last part of street so I had a fail safe, but the tanks apparrently jsut drove over them without effect. I tried to put them in the middle and on the sides of the streets, but both got me no results.

Quick question (I tend to stay out of this thread because I'm a spoiler phobe):

Is there any point to keeping all the mortars, MGs and AA guns I fultoned on Mother Base? I could sell it for a bunch of money, but I wanna know if I should keep it. A simple "yes, keep it" or "no, sell it" will do, thanks!

I really want to try the other buddies, but I can't stand not having D-Horse. Traversing the open world without him is just too much (I know I can airdrop vehicles, but it costs huge amounts of GMP to do constantly). This is actually the one thing that makes me wish that I had a PS4, the PS3 version works really well for the most part, but twice now I've had the game lock up when using the games fast travel system (not sure if this is a common problem, but its happened 2/3 times for me), so using it instead of D-Horse makes me feel nervous.

I heard horror stories about Mission 16, but I got an S rank?
All I did was ambush the convoy on the road and got into a tank after the cutscene. Unless it was a glitch because there was no one in the tanks after the cutscene.

Just steal a vehicle. There are often people patrolling that you can attack. But I do agree that D-Horse shouldn't count as buddy.

Why do ALL missions have Revolver 'Shalashaska' Ocelot in credits, when most of the time you have Miller on radio?

Only few occurrences of where Ocelot actually talks.

You have to extract a lorry from a convoy but as you get close the skulls pop out and it's very irritating

I just did it, fulton'd out the area and it's just put me back in the chopper without completing, wow.

you can't fulton yourself or that counts as mission incomplete.

I feel ya, but I can't stand wasting the buddy slot on him even more. So I end up with a more useful buddy, and then dash to the objective.

D-horse being a buddy was a mistake.

people having fun with emblem designs

I did the same thing, got an S too. It was super easy, I just
followed the 2 tanks to the airport where the joined up with the truck and waited until the hit a chock point and just hopped in one of the tanks after the cutscene were the parasite squad dudes popped out, it was really straight forward I thought.

Tried that, they were too quick!

Do you talk about mission 16 ? No they're not. I used the strategy

to go directly to the ariport, fulton that transporter and call d-horse and run away, first try. Whole mission took me 3.30 minutes. The first time I tried to do this mission was a pain in the ass so I changed the strategy.

Wait, is mission 16 the one where
you Fulton a truck
?

What were people complaining about? You just
extract it and leave, there's even a landing zone seconds away, you can even do it without the tanks seeing you (although I was tempted to Fulton them too, but I didnt think they were worth it after I've made it that far).

Mission 46 spoilers:
So I'm doing the whole prologue again? I really liked the twist in the mirror cutscene, but can I skip the rest of them?

Dawg is letting me make OT2, so thanks for all the title suggestions guys

I'm thinking it will be |OT2| Guest Starring Hideo Kojima

Skip the rest until the clear screen comes up.

Just |OT| A Hideo Kojima game.

That was what the first OT should have been anyway.

This, I can't believe it wasn't called this. More poignant now after all the credits complaints :P

Just done a side-op that perfectly encapsulates how this game is just missing that 'x-factor' for me. I can't remember which one it is, but it came after Episode 27 for me and was a yellow-marked 'important' one.

Ocelot calls you back to Mother Base to fight Eli again. Cool. That was fun in that first Episode he appears.

But when you get there, it just... happens. No cut scene. No dialogue. No reaction when you beat him. Nothing. Just a silent fight between two of the most important characters in the series.

That silly little thing could've been so much more memorable and awesome if they had played up the dynamic just a little bit. This is a series rich with all these larger than life characters and memorable quotes and it almost seems like the game doesn't want to feed off of that at times.

It's Big Boss versus Liquid Fucking Snake. This should've been a side-op where I was grinning the entire time and yet it all felt meaningless and it took so much of the fun out of it. Grrrrr. :/

The anime idol poster for the box was hilarious. I like running away in the cardboard box and blowing up my C4 while "The Final Countdown" plays in the background.

So I need clarification on some Quiet stuff.

When does she leave and can I get her back? I really don't want to do S ranks without her. If she leaves FOREVER that is a really bad design decision but this game is full of them so it wouldn't surprise me.

So far it looks like it has to happen, but it still seems weird to me...I'm trying to find out more info on it since I'm getting close to that part, but nothing seems to show a way for her to stay.

As for when it seems to be what starts mission 45.

I'm seriously considering starting the game over now that I've beaten it.

Quiet late game spoilers
Just so I can do the emblem thing to keep quiet from leaving. I wanted to replay missions to S-Rank them all, and Quiet was my favorite buddy. Spent so much time and GMP getting all her stuff, and she looks so good in that Sniper Wolf outfit.

I gave my friend a heads up about this and it didn't work. It seemed to block the final mission from appearing, but that's it.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sooooooooooo bad.

Disassociating story stuff from the actual gameplay is open world after the main story rule #1. So stupid...

I've seen reports of it working fine for other people, interesting. Did he change the emblem before doing mission 41? Mission 41 is what actually 'triggers' her leaving, even if she doesn't do it right away.
