This silly game.

Mission 18
After I got to the child soldiers I requested a chopper pretty early. The LZ is not far away, rather you have to go around to reach it.

So the entire time I was sneaking away with child soldiers I had Take On Me blasting somewhere in the distance. I guess it would have been even better with Final Countdown

I had Kids in America playing because I thought that would be suuuuuper dumb

Wow Fuck mission 31
who the hell thought it was okay to give sahelanthropus a fucking instant kill move that only deploys well over half way into the fight. Fuck off

which move he never did it for me, i just kept rocketing away at his pods and he died in like 5 minutes

Yep, terrible
boss fight.

Super awkward camera at the point of the OHK too which is super helpful.

So I'm trying to make a list on Steam of features that were otherwise promised or marketed as being in the final game. Things like Camp Omega, FOB's being different for everyone, missing story...

And the single biggest reply I'm getting is "This game gives you 50+ hours of entertainment and you want more?" and the whole "entitled gamer" schlock. I'm getting fucking tired of it.

I want a list for reasons of solidarity. Does it suck that Camp Omega was probably scrapped? Yeah. It does. Does that mean that I am actively unhappy with how much the game already has to offer? NO. Fuck off with that hyperbole!

God Damnit. I'm annoyed. Sorry for venting here guys.

Enemies can build up tranq resistance? I'm headshotting them with a rank four sniper rifle and they're awake within a minute. This base has 15 or so men and I can't take them all out long enough to fulton anyone.
Would be a cakewalk with Quiet, fuck.

And a CQC takedown combo on three enemies had them down for ten seconds.

Actually what D-Walker REALYL needs is a way for me to fly off a ramp in wheels mode, change stance in midair, and hit the ground running. It would make him so much better.

if it's anything like in peace walker then it shouldn't matter if they die under your control during a mission

She's so cool!

How did you rank her up so high? Controlling her yourself or deployment? Or are those her default stats? Lol

I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME

I just finished mission 8 I think, the first mission where it specifies that you should take missiles.

How I did it:

I intercepted the tanks from a high rocky ledge in the mountain fort while they were passing through, destroying one and a truck using my RPG. But one got away, so I started a HORSE VS TANK CHASE SCENE, riding D-Horse and shooting RPGs while also switching to my rifle and pick off soldiers. When I ran out of rockets, I got the tank's attention and hid behind a rock to finish it off with hand grenades.

What amazes me is that there are so many ways that mission could have ended. You could have waited and planned an ambush, or camped at the enemy base, run in and slaughtered everyone, or stolen
the rocket platform
that a soldier tells you about if you interrogate him. And all of it was unscripted! No on-rails sections, no hand-holding, just you figuring out how to tackle your objectives with the resources you have.

One question: Miller keeps telling me to see D-Dog in Mother Base, is there anywhere I can find him or is he just saying that? I have 4 platforms up and have no idea where to look.

I gettcha. That cut content is a damn shame. It really seem like they finished the gameplay and then went on to make the story, but at that point Konami stormed in and pushed the game out. So it ended up like it did. A year, maybe a few months and we maybe would've had a
third
chapter.

which move he never did it for me, i just kept rocketing away at his pods and he died in like 5 minutes
he perches and starts firing a laser that made me think of Ray. It's a cool looking attack but it locks onto you and you have to be running the perfect angle away at full speed to avoid getting hit. It's bullshit

I liked it a lot actually up to that point.

Post-mission 31:All this stuff with
Eli
is REALLY starting to piss me off.

Just throw him fucking overboard if he wants to leave so badly. All these missions have zero satisfaction and it blows my mind how no one at Mother Base seems to give a damn.

Oh christ that's how you trigger the hidden MB scene, all along I was in the right place but didn't see action button prompt.

[MB scene/E3 2015/speculation]
That said, oh christ. That twist the reviews spoke about is gonna be Snake being mind controlled/got his memory changed by Zero or something like that, right?

"She doesn't respond to anything that conflicts with her internal timeline"

From the e3 2015 trailer "So the major sought a system that used information: Words - To control the subconscious."

Ridiculous that such important part of the story is hidden away.

How do you take out comms thingies to stop reinforcements from coming in general (already did the ones in the mission)? Often I cant reach them as they are on top of trailers. Will shooting at them do the trick?

If someone's having trouble with some of the slower tapes (like
Code Talker
's, fucker speaks soooo sloooooooowwww) but still want to know what they contain, clicking fast forward actually skips to the start of the next line rather than skipping forward a preset amount of seconds. This way I actually managed to listen to all of the aforementioned character's tapes lol.

Guards notice missing supplies when they're searching for you. This game's AI is absurd.

Also I met this one sniper who stabbed me in the face after holding him up. Had to restart from checkpoint, so I tried holding him up again, that time he started to shout "Hostile!" before I slammed his face into a wall.

She's so cool!

I know names and stats aren't random (meaning, Flaming Buffalo will always be S+ combat etc when you find her) but is there a fixed way to find these soldiers, or is it completely up to chance?

So I just got "tipped" about something regarding quiet, if someone knows what I'm talking about, read the spoilers below, I kinda need help with that.

Someone told me that Quiet leaves permanently unless you do something to prevent her from leaving, so can anyone give me the heads up in a spoiler-free way? I don't want to Google it or I might stumble on spoilers

Please avoid any spoilers past mission

DDog is at the helipad at the command platform. He greets you when you come back from missions. Just there running and jumping about.

I think I got her for finishing mission 30 or 31 but I'm not entirely sure. If it was that or my dudes on a recruiting mission.

Not sure if this was answered before but once you reach chapter 2 do you actually need to complete the extreme, subsistence, etc missions to progress the story?

To be as vague as possible:
Put a butterfly on your emblem if you have it and keep it on.

So what can you lose on a FOB? I'm afraid of losing all my A+ ranked guys to an invasion but the game won't shut up about it if I go online now. I figure I'll have to suck it up eventually if I'm going to rank stuff up to level 50 though.

wow people moan a lot about the boss fights in this game, if he does the ohko move you hide behind a wall.
you literally just stay behind the wall till the phase is over.
The ohko move has such a long and clear tell, if you get hit by it, it's your own fault
