Tomorow will be very interesting! Any predictions for MGS V split? Also for Mad Max my bet is 65/60 : 35/40.

EDIT : Damn, i forgot about PS3/X360 version of MGS V. Correction :

65% on PS4, 18% on Xbone, 10% on PS3 and 7% on X360.

We don't have any info to say this For all we know Xbox one was discontinued in 3 countries, or got an overall increase. We will never know. Maybe Wii U is making a comeback.

Yep for all we know X1 sales increased alot but people are buying their games digitally on X1.

I think for the Phantom Pain it will be 60/22/15/3% for PS4/XB1/PS3/360 respectively in the UK.

It should be PS4>PS3>XB1>360 for the rest of Europe though.

I'm extremely doubtful that, that will be in any significant capacity that effects the charts, the PC platform has more titles in the top 100 and that's the number 1 digital platform.

Don't forget that GfK doesn't track digital hardware sales so for all we know the Xbox One could have outsold the PS4 in every European market once we factor in digital console sales....

I knew Jim Ryan was lying to us!

I'm pretty sure s/he was being sarcastic.

And retail is still bigger than digital for PC in Germany and other European markets.

MGS5:TPP
65% PS4, 20% XBO, 9% PS3, 4% 360, 2% PC

Mad Max
64% PS4, 31% XBO, 5% PC

It was sarcasm.

There are 4 platforms, which is why I said it was too high, and this is a Metal Gear game, so last gen won't be irrelevant like all the other multiplatform games.
I am not sure why you think this. I cannot imagine more then what people have stated

Anyway some splits on other games :
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour
PS4: 62%
XB1: 38%

Batman
PS4 67%
XB1 33%

Witcher 3
PS4:63%
XBO:32%
.

MGS V on Ps4 will easilly be the best selling version, Ps3 after that and Xbox One after.

Not sure about 360 sales though.

There's no PS3 version there though, which was my point, it will sell at least 15% on PS3. TPP needs to perform as badly on XB as a Final Fantasy game in order for the PS4 version to sell 65+%, which is unlikely.

It's possible, but highly unlikely.

You think PS3 TPP will retain the same sales share as GZ even though in the 18 months since then last-gen software sales have weakened while current-gen has strengthened?

Some anecdotal evidence on Metal Gear which is not all too reliable but for me is a trend. Looking at the forums like GameFAQ's on PS4 there is 231 pages of topics but on the Xbox One has only 10.

The Witcher is the same, 333 on PS4 and 39 on Xbox One.

This is like the flimsiest anecdotal evidence I have ever seen. Why would you post something like that? There's absolutely nothing to draw from here, especially in a PAL charts thread. At the very least, anecdotal evidence should be "guy at my local gamestore said so and so".

I said it was not reliable but it shows people are buying the PS4 version over the Xbox One version as they will go and talk about the game on their particular platform.

You don't need to count threads on a forum to come to that conclusion. Comparing worldwide install bases is enough. Or maybe even read some fiscal reports from Ubisoft or Konami.

yeah well, the ratio for The Witcher is nowhere near 333:39 so that should tell you it's wrong

(hint: GameFAQs looks more like Japan in terms of 8th gen console ownership)

Still, 231 pages compared to 10 - that's quite the divide. The MGS franchise will always have that major Playstation affiliation.

My gut tells me that nowhere will report the split and we'll all be disappointed.

Hopefully PC gets 0% and I mean that purely for retail, unless it was cheap somewhere. Feels like such a waste of materials to burn a steam installer to a disc.

Oh God, I didn't even consider we might not get the splits.

I'm expecting splits with maybe a comparison to how it did against Ground Zeroes.

My prediction if we do get splits for MGSV are:

PS4 70%
PS3 12%
XB1 10%
360 8%

Hopefully Until Dawn has a really solid debut in 2nd place too!

‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’ lands Konami their first No1 of the year.

It also marks the series’ return to the top of the All Formats chart for the first time since 2008. It’s a new week 1 high for the series beating the opening week sales of ‘Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty’ by just under 37%. It’s enough to put it at 3rd place in terms of first week sales in 2015 (behind Batman: Arkham Knight & The Witcher III: Wild Hunt). PS4 takes a commanding 72% share over Xbox One which has 22%, while PS3 edges to a 3% share over Xbox 360 with just 2%. Unable to threaten the No1 spot ahead of Metal Gear, Warner Bros’ post-apocalyptic open world ‘Mad Max’ still makes a solid start driving in at No2 in its debut week. After winning the battle of the format exclusives and claiming No1 last week ‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ (-64%) makes way for the new guys dropping to No3. It remains ahead of Sony title ‘Until Dawn’ (-52%) down two places to No4, while ‘Disney Infinity 3.0’ (-35%) also slides two spots to No5.

While the rest of the Top 10 has a somewhat familiar look the Top 40 welcomes another pair of debutants this week. Koch Media bring ‘Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse’ to Xbox One and PS4 (The PC version was released in 2014) and the title makes it to No35 in its opening week. With the tournament proper on the horizon Big Ben Interactive and Ubisoft bring ‘Rugby World Cup 2015’ to a host of formats (Xbox One, 360, PS4, PS3, Vita and PC) landing at No39.

We got some kind of split, and Miles had another kebab clearly

Personally, I had a curry last night which has done something

Just as I was going to "predict" PS4>XBO>PS3>360 splits.

I knew prom previous multiformat games that PS3 players heave really moved on. I didn't predict the split being as low as 3% though.

Doesn't it mean PC was 1%...then again I remember back in The Guardian days %s wouldn't add up to 100 for reason of multiple SKUs

Huge split as predicted. And closer still to 80:20 taking out last gen right?

Also not half a bad drop for Until Dawn in its second week considering the big new release. Excellent.

Lol at that split and PS3 has definitely cratered. I was there for the midnight opening in Game and saw all the ps4 bundles going out the door. Last gen is over here in the UK.

Welp, I overestimated the Xbox audience actually. Or overestimated the active PS3 buyers in the UK. That split is insane.
