So was Ellie Goulding. I feel like Goulding more than anyone was connected to the majority of rumors I saw. I wonder what the process for being picked is like. Do they tell them and then produce the track, or are there front runners who give a stab at it and they pick the best fit. I imagine it's the former, I guess the artists hint that they've been picked sometimes to get the rumors going in their direction and hope that gets them picked?

Smith and Goulding are friends, he even started the rumours about her singing the theme, which in hindsight was an obvious rise. I think she played along helping him keep the deception sending out a few tweets to keep the rumours running.

Didn't she take a break to have a child? It's not that she's no longer relevant, it's just that she wants some time out of the spotlight for the sake of her kid.

The quality of her work has never really diminished. She's always taken her time with things. There's no doubt that her next album will be as good as her last two.

You Know My Name was good, but got old pretty quickly. Skyfall stands the test of time.
