Super Mario Maker |OT| Miyamoto Simulator 2015

It really is great that Nintendo have made it so you don't need 9 days to unlock content. This was the smarter way of doing it.

The editor had a prompt pop up really early on (as in with the Day 1 stuff) mentioning amiibo integration so I just scanned mine immediately following that there and then, so yeah you can get the scanning out the way pretty quickly.
Excellent! Now I just have to wait until I can pick mine up tomorrow and get to editing. I think I'll challenge myself to make something fun with the basic palette first. I have a an idea for a basic Mario level focused on a classic mechanic.

How does pre-loading digital games work? You can play it as soon as the download for the digital version is up?

Mario Maker is the first game I've preloaded!

someone who isn't busy unlocking the smw theme (soooo goood) should probably make a thread about that change.

gonna edit the op in a bit here

Just as a friendly reminder, these are the items, enemies, & stage themes that are NOT included in Super Mario Maker:

I got an idea! Code Swap! I'll look at yours and you look at mine!

I just played it, easy but fun stuff, I liked that jump with the brick stairs. You were pretty generous with the mushrooms there considering there isn't much that is actually dangerous. XD

Also did you forget to put coins at all? If you go through the beginning portion of the stage on the top platforms then it appears to be a blind jump. You can actually see where you're going if you go down though. More generally you could have used them both as a guide and to fill up some empty space.

You pay for it, the game downloads then and midnight you start the game to download a small update; so that you can play it.

Nintendo's agent in Scandinavia, Bergsala, is known for extortionate prices. Back when I worked in retail (up to 2012), I was told by the KAM that "you can charge more for Nintendo games because they are, well, Nintendo games". I haven't been in contact with the company for a few years now, so I don't know if this mindset is still deployed. But if so, it could be another reason as to why Super Mario Maker is so costly in Sweden.

Also, I was hoping for a parcel in the mailbox today, but there was unfortunately nothing but flyers.

Hey we managed to get Nintendo to find new representatives in Poland , I'm sure we can get Scandinavia sorted out. Make a new topic.

Hmmm. I've been messing around in the level and nothing has unlocked for me so far. I did boot the game up before installing the patch though. Why would that be a problem?

Gotta save something for the sequel ...

In other news, I've forgotten how much I like seeing the images of Mario enemies, items, etc. I would get the strategy guides just for that.

Questions :

- can it be played entirely on the gamepad so I can play while others are using the TV?
- is it decent value if I 90% want it just play built-in/community made levels and not create myself?

- is there anything like the littlebigplanet website where you can preview levels and queue them up?
- is there a way to capture screenshots of your map so we don't just get a random number and have to jump in blindly? ;)

That's going to be immensely difficult. Bergsala is Nintendo's oldest export customer. This issue has been brought up before, and I believe the answer was that NoE is content with Bergsala's business. This is several years ago though, so it could have changed. There are a few documents about NoE and Bergsala on the matter I intend to go over quite soon, maybe I'll find something interesting that can bring a discussion.

It can be fully played on the gampad. Also there is a crazy amount of levels already uploaded. As for the rest I'm not sure yet.

Fishing Lakitu could have been cool. Imagine a Fishing Lakitu with a Chain Chomp on his rope? It would be pretty cool.

I would have loved if the P-Balloon was included, even if it was limited to the SMW title set. Some of my favourite levels from that game, such as the Special World stages, included the use of that power up in clever fashion.

My Best Buy order on the site says the game is "Ready for Pick Up" but I'm not sure I should trust it and head to the store. Anyone else's say that?

Reposting from the other thread.

Oh I GOT IT.
Made a super long level, filling with land and the truck finally came.
Was toying with everything, shaking stuff and combining, but nothing came.
Even moving start point/goal flag.

Then I said damn it and made the longest level possible, filled the floor with land and got the truck.

Yeah, the P-Block stage :) But I stopped watching, because I've already been captivated for the past hour.

He's down to 85 lives and I can't stop laughing. It's just the sheer craziness of the floor being littered with P-Blocks and all kinds of traps to make him hit them.

*Fake Edit* Down to 82 lives now.

I won't be getting this game for a week, but damn if I'm not excited.

This P-switch stage is being really amazing. My god, looks to be so much fun.
Lmao the chat "Today's Super Mario World level is brought to you in part by the letter 'P'"
