You didn't load up before the patch went live, did you?
Got the game this morning and it instantly updated it.
EDIT : going to load the game and wait a bit in the editor.

Excellent! Now I just have to wait until I can pick mine up tomorrow and get to editing. I think I'll challenge myself to make something fun with the basic palette first. I have a an idea for a basic Mario level focused on a classic mechanic. The editor had a prompt pop up really early on (as in with the Day 1 stuff) mentioning amiibo integration so I just scanned mine immediately following that there and then, so yeah you can get the scanning out the way pretty quickly.
They changed it. Stuff unlocks every few hours now.
someone who isn't busy unlocking the smw theme (soooo goood) should probably make a thread about that change.
gonna edit the op in a bit here
I don't think there is any multiplayer at all.
I got an idea! Code Swap! I'll look at yours and you look at mine!

You pay for it, the game downloads then and midnight you start the game to download a small update; so that you can play it.How does pre-loading digital games work? You can play it as soon as the download for the digital version is up?
Mario Maker is the first game I've preloaded!

Nintendo's agent in Scandinavia, Bergsala, is known for extortionate prices. Back when I worked in retail (up to 2012), I was told by the KAM that "you can charge more for Nintendo games because they are, well, Nintendo games". I haven't been in contact with the company for a few years now, so I don't know if this mindset is still deployed. But if so, it could be another reason as to why Super Mario Maker is so costly in Sweden.
Also, I was hoping for a parcel in the mailbox today, but there was unfortunately nothing but flyers.
Just as a friendly reminder, these are the items, enemies, & stage themes that are NOT included in Super Mario Maker:

What US retailer has the best deal on this game? Is there a pre-order bonus anywhere?
That's going to be immensely difficult. Bergsala is Nintendo's oldest export customer. This issue has been brought up before, and I believe the answer was that NoE is content with Bergsala's business. This is several years ago though, so it could have changed. There are a few documents about NoE and Bergsala on the matter I intend to go over quite soon, maybe I'll find something interesting that can bring a discussion.Hey we managed to get Nintendo to find new representatives in Poland , I'm sure we can get Scandinavia sorted out. Make a new topic.

$49.99 if you're a Prime member on Amazon.
$47.99 if you have Gamers Club Unlocked through Best Buy.

Questions :
- can it be played entirely on the gamepad so I can play while others are using the TV?
- is it decent value if I 90% want it just play built-in/community made levels and not create myself?
- is there anything like the littlebigplanet website where you can preview levels and queue them up?
- is there a way to capture screenshots of your map so we don't just get a random number and have to jump in blindly?
Wow. With all the hype going on for this game, I really hope Nintendo adds more of these in a future update/DLC.Just as a friendly reminder, these are the items, enemies, & stage themes that are NOT included in Super Mario Maker:
My level ID F9BE-0000-000F-A63E out of 106 people only nine completed it, I made it as hard as possible.
I think sooner or later Nintendo will realise the need for checkpoint's especially in the ridiculously hard levels.
Fishing Lakitu could have been cool. Imagine a Fishing Lakitu with a Chain Chomp on his rope? It would be pretty cool.
Still nothing T-T
Was toying with everything, shaking stuff and combining, but nothing came.Oh I GOT IT.
Made a super long level, filling with land and the truck finally came.
sothere's more to it than just playing for 15 minutes. maybe you have to meet certain gameplay requirements? use every tool?Same. Not sure what the problem is.
Woah what? All the complaining actually worked? Awesome glad they changed it...unless they planned to do this anyway. They changed it. Stuff unlocks every few hours now.
That's still just a fraction of what's missing. Tons of stuff missing from the NSMB games. Game will still be great. Hopefully lots of dlc.Just as a friendly reminder, these are the items, enemies, & stage themes that are NOT included in Super Mario Maker:
This stage gaming_phobia is playing right now is amazing.
Yeah, the P-Block stage But I stopped watching, because I've already been captivated for the past hour.
