Rashid Confirmed for Street Fighter V

Sweet, respect Capcom. Rashid representing us Arab folks, although his name is pretty dumb and generic. They could've gone with something unique.

So where's our Canadian fighter Ono? I'm thinking a burly lumberjack that's super polite but like could still beat you up. Then apologize. With syrup worked in there somewhere.

Would love to see a fat german guy in Lederhosen, and everytime he throws big glasses of beer he shouts "BIERKRUGEN!".

The character seems interesting. He seems to be kind of like Vega with all his wall jumps. He also seems to have a run instead of a dash but I can't tell for sure. His V-Trigger is that tornado that just sits there so that's basically an Aegis Reflector without the reflecting (which no one ever used that aspect of it anyway).

I wonder what the outcome will be between Aegis Tornado VS. Aegis Reflector.

Tornado will cause Reflector to dissipate; In SF3, Urien's Aegis would disappear after 8 'hits' If for example it got ht by Oro's Spirit Bomb super it'd just disappear, same would apply here if the Tornado hits multiple times.

Could you give an example of what an equivalent would be that most people could understand?

Is it like naming an american character "John" or something like that? I think Rashid sounds cool as hell, personally, but I obviously don't understand the context.

Capcom going for that Arab money.

Big market. And the other reason must be a response to this:

It's not homogenizing it. The tools aren't all equal, but they're there. VF does this and every single character plays differently. Everyone has the same defensive options, so the only "tiers" that exist from 4 on are who has more tools rather than who can counterpick who.
If the tools aren't equal then it's pointless. Different defensive options exist to offset different offensive options. A character like Claw or Boxer needs to be helpless when pressured because their pressure is overbearing. If you give them better defensive options then they are either broken or their offense gets tuned down to make up for that. VF is a 3D game which is a completely different type of game.

Counterpicking has never been an issue in SF, hell nothing's more hype than seeing character specialist overcoming bad match ups with skill.

Not quite John, but perhaps the Arabic equivalent of Jason.

Some of his stuff also looks like Law's (kicks, slide kick, flip) etc.

About the only thing I saw people use that looked his own was that kick that hits the ankles.

To me he feels like they just really wanted to make a middle eastern character but had no fighting style in mind.

He does have a slide but it isn't like Law's. Very different and different uses and animation.Doesn't even stay on the ground either and can continue to combo after i believe. Lee has more of a law like slide. He does have alot of kicks so i can see where are coming from.

Anyway this dude has fun gameplay it looks like.
His design doesn't jump at me as much as i wanted is all.

But Urien's Aegis Reflector got buffed in SFV! It will remain on-screen as long as the V-Meter is not depleted. Think of the marvelous corner tackles and ongoing setups. Or what if his V-Meter consists of 3 parts (maybe even 4), that means 3 or 4 Reflectors. FUCK! Gimme Urien already.

Like that his projectile curves gradually, definitely Juri combination of zoning and offense. Lets see if he has wake-up options though. So far im playing him. Give him Saiyan armor as an alternate outfit

I never said counterpicking is an issue, but it shouldn't have to be something you do because you have a character that is weak versus your opponent's just because of their tools or lack of tools. You then could get into a metagame of only picking a character with tools for most/all situations, but then everyone would pick Ryu and it would be boring.

I think we can just agree to disagree here, because there are ways to balance the game without making a character a glass cannon.

I'd say it's like Zack or Brad.

Name is fine IMO. Although Shaheen is better because it's recognizable but not common at all.

Not very common, like Imagine if they name him Ahmad or Khalid. BTW Is it راشد or رشيد?

So far I've really liked the look of all the characters and think they all seem fun, but this is the first that I can actually see myself being able to play. Can't wait for the high quality trailer.
