In the Birthday cutscene Quite writes out HBD. If she can write, let's not even talk of the numerous alternatives to communicate beyond speaking English, why cause all the headaches. Not as if she is against communicating. Quiet hums and stabs a man in the mouth to say the Kikongo language carries a magic parasite, prior to DD learning the existence of magic parasites.

It makes sense for Zero to go this route, but for any hypothetical secret society it sort of doesn't.

How would you expect a secret society in todays age to control things?

The world is huge and they would need a system of controlling economic decisions, what media we consume, what information is revealed etc.

the easiest way would be an AI. I think it is stated in the game as that is why Zero createst the AIs. He sees the digital revolution coming and knows he needs to control its flow.

Asking this here since I may get more input than the OT.
So if I beat everything else in the game, see the Truth ending, etc. can I then remove the butterfly emblem to trigger Quiet's endgame? Or is it locked out? I've got different input so far.

Just don't load up her mission. Don't need to worry about any emblem stuff.

Well Quiet and Venom Snake are both apparently really stupid. I figured out it was Kikongo on my own yet had no way to tell anyone.

How does one decommission a nuke? I don't want to take the negative hit to my Hero score, so I'm not going to make one of my own. Do I need to infiltrate an FOB and steal someone else's?

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Hidden Cutscene

This is the no nuke video. To trigger this cutscene, u need to disarm every single FOB nuke. Good luck with that.
Kojima - "SOMETHING THAT CAN ONLY BE DONE IN VIDEO GAMES" (lol)
I found this cutscene in the game files. People aren't suppose to get it this early, no one has gotten it naturally because no one bothered going after nukes that much.

If that's the trigger to get that scene, then it at as well not even be in the game honestly.

It is interesting on a certain level.

That we'd be in kind of an utopian world where everyone decomissioned their nukes.

I appreciate the concept, but without datamining I don't think we'd ever found this.

The twist was good, but I honestly kinda saw it coming. Did anyone else? I mean, It was fucking Kiefer Sutherland talking as Ishmael. Come on, son.

I've almost finished the game and have been routinely and intently listening to all of the tapes. But my breaking point was Code Talker shitting on about wolbachia, male to female, copulation, Dineh, wolbachia, copulation, and wolbachia.

I slaved through a couple of 4-5 minute tapes of his rambling. The next one was over 10 minutes long. Fuck that. I cycled through the rest to uncheck them from the list and moved on. What a terrible, boring vocal (heh) performance.

The voice actor was great, but they kept repeating the same concepts over and over again

Yes. I figured that was the twist since the very first scene in the very first trailer. Kiefer having the voice of Ishmael just confirmed it. Boring and pointless twist.

People have been calling it since Ground Zeroes. Before that, even.

But people had been throwing out a lot of guesses. Something had to stick eventually. :P

I just beat the game and I'm fucking speechless. I just....I was LOVING the game up until Chapter 2 and then things started unraveling and.....

From a gameplay perspective it's god tier but fucking hell the story....

I feel like everything up to the revelations was a waste of time now and deflating as fuck.

Regarding the Ishmael and Ahab, I much preferred my idea that we were playing as Big Boss but a lot of what we see, hear, etc. was in his mind as a result of the injuries and fragment in his head.

The whole Volgin/Psycho Mantis shit was god awful too. Absolutely no pay-off with any of that and just forcing Volgin in was dumb.

So many thoughts but I still dunno how to process what I've seen/heard.

Miller's response to Ocelot at the end of the credits was literally my own. A big wtfm8.

I thought he was an hallucination and we would replay the mission with actually us doing all of Ishmaels things. The game had said muscle loss was reduced and I thought we would see us fighting quiet, but psychologically not aware of it, because BB was still coming to terms with everything.

But the two things that made me think in the game that it was a fake was the when ocelot introduces himself, he clearly is meeting this character for the first time, but i thought maybe it is just Kojima introducing the character for those who don't know he is Ocelot.

Then the whole DNA thing, I thought this has to be his clone, so maybe he ain't the real thing, but then i just thought maybe Eli was a fake.

I had the idea that he wasn't BB but then the game went on and forgot about it, that's why the Eli dna test came out as weird, also man of fire being Volgin I was playing MGS3 when started playing MGSV saw that a mile away in his first appearance.

This was the most obvious hint for me. At that point either Big Boss or Liquid were not who they were painted as and Eli being some random kid wouldn't really affect anything. And combined to Ishmael stuff in the intro I started to suspect this.

It's just that Venom not being BB doesn't matter much. I still think Kojima had a twist for the sake of having one. I don't think it's a good twist or a bad one. It's just there.

I heard a rumor from a guy that I know that read something online that was overheard on the phone that to get the 100% real true truth ending, you need to complete mission 45 without dying, being spotted, or taking any damage, then replay the mission and do the same 5 more times. If you fail one of those times, you need to start a new save.

Hey, it's what I heard.

I heard you have to move the truck to reveal the real ending underneath.

I can't tell who's serious or not. But the overarching villain of this series is No One? Is it just dudes with conflicting ideals fighting each other?

Also that's real messed up to "Johnny Got His Gun" some random dude. That's extra insanity to brainwash someone, change their appearance, and parade him as a figurehead.

Big Boss also seemed pretty fine with letting an entire hospital of people get gunned down, to get his plan rolling.
Sure, XOF were the ones doing the shooting, but from the tapes it's clear BB was prepared and fully expected that development, and did nothing to avoid it, 'cause it played in his master plan.

So yes, Big Boss is a maniac piece of shit from the start of the game, but of course that should've been deducted from his dream of a world in perpetual war.

Hey, it's what I heard.

This is true. It also bring General Leo back to life and he can join your party.
