Not sure what rights issues he's referring to. They didn't seem to have a problem cutting through the red tape when they did a PSP remake back in 2006.

Well, I did noticed they didn't use any of the original music in Playstation all stars. In the dojo, you don't hear the instrumental. Heck, it doesn't sound like a remix either.

I mean listen to this

Now listen to the original.

I have so many good ideas for a new parappa the rapper game. If only Sony would offer me some money for a team, lol.

I could imagine it playing like dj hero, but without the peripheral. You can rewind songs and use the ps4 touchpad to scratch like a dj to remix songs as you play through stages.

I don't see the next Yakuza being a PS4 exclusive game.

That's because it will be
Vita
exclusive.

Joking aside, was there news of a new Yakuza game recently? I thought the team was working on a new project that wasn't Yakuza. I was thinking we might see that game at this conference.

Why would it be? PS3/PS4 is usually what Japanese publishers do.

They are starting to transition to PS4 only.
PS3 software sales have slowed down to the point where it's useless to continue to support it anymore. They're just hurting their future business on PS4.

Yakuza 0 sold better on PS3 iirc.

They will announce a new one on the 15th this month (Which means SCEJ conference I suppose).

I dunno about that considering MGSV PS3 ver. still sold over 100k in Japan. I'll settle for games where PS4 is the lead platform.

At the same time though, his Level 3 Super uses one of the songs from the original game. Which, if I recall correctly, was the only Level 3 super that wasn't shown off during the game's initial GTTV reveal because they hadn't gotten the rights to the song yet...

I don't know, it's just weird and strange how they couldn't use the dojo music, but they were able to with the "I gotta believe" song.

I guess that was what Shawn Layden ment with the whole "complex right package" or whatever.

My intuition is that maybe there was some sort of agreement during the development of the first parappa game. Nana-OnSha had the rights to the music composition while Sony owns the rest of factors of the parappa IP.

Should we be expecting an announcement of the Asian (market) version of this press conference soon? Last year, we got one after the (Japanese) SCEJA presser, and it happened before TGS.

Wonder if they'll bother after the recent PlayStation China conference.

HD remasters I'd like to see?

Shenmue I&II
Sakura Taisen : Ichiro Ogami Collection
Ryu ga Gotoku Collection
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 & Dream Drop Distance HD
Xenosaga Trilogy

Bring on the .hack// remasters along with a VR supported current gen announcement! Also, would love to see Grandia 3 get a PC port like 2 did.

Yakuza series could use the 1080p 60 FPS treatment. I've never understood why it reviewed so poorly despite the strong narrative, characterization, and excellent gameplay.

Soo, any chance of some PS C.A.M.P projects showing up? Tokyo Jungle is 3 years old and Rain is 2, I would love some smaller digital games from Japan again.

Also maybe its time for a new game from Gavin Moore and his Pupeteer team as well

So, I'm hearing that level 5's jrpg has a decent chance of showing?

Werent they confirmed even at E3 at some point? They better show up now

At some point though. You have to look at value. Not saying the New Ratchet or Sly4 aren't worth it, but I'm much more likely to jump in on that type of game at $40 rather than $60.

And I'm sure the budget of those games are relative to the price.

Sure they could sell the new Ratchet for $60 and then drop the price less than a month from it's release because those "premium" sales have stopped. But by that point you probably won't rope in too many other people because when they first saw the game they figured the price was too high and moved on from it.

They sell it at $40 and hopefully get more people in on day one and see sales stay consistent for much longer.

I agree, the medium tier of games should come back, and maybe Sony could even release like 2 exclusives within the same month and poeple could buy both based on the price. I love Until Dawn, one of my favorites of the year and I played day one, but I think it could have cost $40, not because of content, but to gather more attention.

Legend of Dragoon PS4 Remake :D

Moving along from my wishful thinking, my guess is that we'll hear about Gravity Rush Remaster before the end of the year

If gravity rush 2 is still on vita im thinking 39.99 for the vita version. Than $60 for the ps4 version with gravity rush remastered bundled...oooo man that be so sweet

I'm afraid to ask for Ape Escape 4, they'll probably keep it in Japan like they have with the last few worthwhile games in the series.

The only ones that weren't localised were 2 PSP games and 2 PS2 games.

Pipo Saru 2001
Ape Escape Racer
SaruSaru Big Mission
Ape Escape Million Monkeys

Million Monkeys was planned to release in Europe in 2006 but was cancelled because they didn't want it to compete with Ape Escape 3.

If Ape Escape 4 was announced it would definitely come out here. The ones that didnt were all spin offs, and the biggest spin off was planned to release in Europe
And if worst came and it was JP only... At least we can import!

please sony I'm desperate I need a new ape escape in my life I have imported every game in the series I beg

When asked for comment, a Sony representative went on record stating "you'll get your trash spin-offs and Move light gun shooter and you'll like it".

Things changed. Especially since Shawn Layden took over as president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America.

So guys a roundup. What can we expect?

KH 1.5 and 2.5 for PS4?
more DQ

Anything else. What's likely?

Danganronpa 3 for the Vita
Gravity Rush 2 PS4
The new game by the Yakuza team
The new Yakuza game
Level 5 PS4 game

Those are all I can think right now, maybe those 3 RPGs Kadokawa announced awhile ago

3AM....ouch, I have to work so that's a not gonna be live for me. I guess I'll see the GAF summary when I wake up or go on media blackout until I can find an archive of the stream.

No, it just means that they have nothing to show.../s

Do we have a link for archive? I won't be able to catch the show live, but I would like catch the translator hilarity.

They should do it the way TV stations translate presidential speeches. You have 1-3 interpreters doing live voiceover, muting the original speaker = original video feed w/ delay for audio translation sync, translated audio feed in English = final feed. It's easier and cheaper to do it their way I guess but it also creates a "messy scene".
