After a two-year-old tradition, since when I started getting interested in TGS Sony pre-show, this year I cannot see the conference because of an exam at university. If only it was nearly a week before like the previous ones. You people please watch it live for me as well ;)

And Vita supporters, please hope for GR2 and FFXII HD, I'm begging you

This year there is going to be a very interesting show.

So, they had Monster Hunter start on PS2, moved to PSP and then switched to Nintendo to " reach new expectations ". Now that MH has been on Nintendo platforms for a good while. Time to move onto new hardware again.

And this time the Playstation platforms are established with the next MH title in development. So why not? Capcom has never acted like it was a major thing for MH to be exclusive to the Nintendo platforms. They usually dance around the issue, or give reasonings like the above.

Verendus has stated there are multiple MH titles in development for PS4. And just like Dragon Quest. Once you get the fanbase used to the idea of Dragon Quest on the Playstation brand, you lower the hammer with the main entry of the series hitting as well on the same platform. Only makes sense.

Because it would be much, much cheaper for them to continue making the series for handhelds and they will sell way more copies. MH at this point is a handheld IP that sells mostly in Japan.

You ever consider they're being quiet on purpose?
That's literally my default assumption when there's silence, even when the silence is really due to "there's nothing" lol

I'd really love it if Level 5's in-house JRPG was a new IP and their Sony collab was something Dark Cloud/Rogue Galaxy related. Ni No Kuni perfectly stands as a one-hit-wonder to me (a sequel would be fine too, but it isn't my top wish)

Correct. If MH5 hits PS4, it'll be in addition to the main SKU, which will be the version for Nintendo's next handheld.

Monster Hunter is a portable series now, whether some people want to accept it or not. I definitely can see a PS4 port making sense for Capcom though, assuming they do not have a deal in place with Nintendo.

I'd prefer a new IP as well. Or a home console Yokai Watch in the style of the first tease. Or a Ushiro revival.

Yup. IF Monster Hunter ends up on PS4, which is something I don't see any point in, then I think it'll be a Dragon Quest XI situation.

Well that's one way to look at it, but the more powerful announcements are (FF7R, next-gen Capcom games, etc ) the more they're inclined tease them.

My money is on things of a smaller size.

Did you consider some people got in trouble for the E3 leaks?

Goddamn it...

People were also complaining about how quite it was before E3 as well, until the leaks started happening towards the end.

And SFV was Capcom's own screw up, no one saw SFV coming at PSX. There were no teases.

I'll be making a pot of tea and staying up for this. Persona and Danganronpa alone are enough for me. But it has good potential to be stacked full of things I love.

Verendus said there are 2 level 5 exclusives. 1 is in-house, the other is Sony published/collaboration.

in-house could be ni no kuni 2 or any number of things. the collaboration one would most likely be Dark Cloud since they published that series back in the day. Did they publish Rogue Galaxy? Can't recall.

Sure but the Sony published one is the one Verendus has been teasing for the last couple of years and has said it'll be announced this year (unless delayed, like Bloodborne was in 2013). So even if they've got another PS4 JRPG in development, I assume the Sony published one is much further in development.

Sony published Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Jeanne d'Arc and White Knight Chronicles. As far as I remember, Ni no Kuni is the only console game Level 5's self-published.

Ouch, hate that some people might of gotten busted / in trouble due to the leaks.

Was still an absolutely amazing E3 though. Best ever in my eyes. TGS has the same type of feel for me going in. Even moreso really since this is more my gaming realm. JRPG's and such.

Could be one of the best TGS's ever.

I remember Kagari said she can't wait for TGS in a Horizon thread, maybe we'll get more info at TGS?

The Witcher 3 and Skyrim (both ARPGs) sold very well in Japan and that's without a big marketing campaign by Sony, so maybe Sony expects Horizon to do very well there.

Or maybe she meant something else, I don't mean to misquote you Kagari, if so.

I'm hoping for a decent japanese push for the title, solely on the basis that it has hunting elements, despite it lacking a huge component to some successful (mainly MH duh) hunting games success, multiplayer

Everything leaks... OMG there's no surprises!

I'm not talking about leaks guys, only about the teases that usually run rampant in threads like these.

We could all do without that nonsense I think...

"Looks like it's going to be cloudy in Japan tonight!"

"I'm going to drink my Coca-Cola classic during the conference!"
