From the stream the producer said they are planning to release this in full package form, including all of the over 200 songs that are in arcade. No, F2P, no DLCs. He said this is like a thank you gift for the fans.

Also it's 1080P

Different mechanics:

-Instead of arrows, you have simultaneos buttons input combinations. Square + O. X + Triangle. Combinations of 3 and 4 are also possible.

-The arrows is a touch pad input, either go right or left.

I guess I'm going to have to settle for X. Playing Project Diva on the PS3 was weird, and I don't want to mess around with settings and stuff.

Now that i've thought about it its pretty unlikely for this game to get localized. The pay model, reverse importation concerns and the like doesnt sound too good for its chances. Its gonna take quite a bit of cash to be able to play this on a jp account.

Hope im wrong though

Rhey probably just remade it using the DIVA engine, just the songs are on a disc now for home play. I don't see why it wouldn't come west eventually, more Miku please SEGA!!! :)

Is there any confirmation that it'll be pay per play though?
At the very least the trailer doesn't have the "credit(s)" notification in the top right that the arcade version has.

Yeah, I can't think of any Sega arcade port that required you to pay per play. Maybe there'll be arcade mode, where you could try to beat as many songs as possible on little credit. But I doubt it'll feature any scammy mechanics like this

Oh, rad. My imported PS3 copy of F was where I dropped off from the series, since I couldn't really get into it not on a handheld, but if I can get back into that I guess I'll be picking up X on Vita and then this as well, assuming we get both.

Wouldn't make sense otherwise! The arcade game uses tokens to play. Same shall be applicable here. Buy tokens from store. The game should be f2p or a new purchase should come with a fixed amount of tokens.

I fail to see how that would make sense? especially when they could just make a regular disc game of it on ps4?

The same way as HotD on consoles didn't make sense, eh?

Ah yes, just like Street Fighter.

What?
Don't be ridiculous.

Why port this at all then? With X coming! This game contains all the ~142 songs. While Diva X will contain 34 songs. How much should it cost then?

Take your pick!

Would love for it to be one time purchase.

This is very weird considering that they'll release DIVA X on PS4 too...

But I'm most definitely in.

If they were going for a F2P model on console, it would be pay per song, not pay per play.

have you ever played a home conversion of an arcade game before?

Seems like Arcade has 215 songs currently.

That's less true these days since they port a lot of Project Diva games to Future Tone.
This is kind of a misleading statement. It's true that stuff from the home version series tends to trickle down a year or two after the fact, but more than half of the songs in Arcade never go the other way around. The song count just posted makes that point pretty clear, considering all the home version songs added together would not even come close to that total.

I could be happy with a Rock-Band esque model where you pay by the track, for the tracks you want. Inevitably when a Diva game comes out there are songs I'm not that interested in, so if we could pick and choose I could see that as a plus. Provided the pricing is right for the initial package and each track. Hopefully no region restrictions either.

Electrosaturator was already high on my wanted list for X, and I'd like to see Tricolor Airline and Systematic Love too.

Pay-per-play would just be sad though.

I was kind of assuming this would be a subset, but I guess they could just have it as an f2p DLC platform.

The trailer had Cat Food in it though unless I'm confusing something:

Yes, Cat Food is one of the songs that was ported to Arcade from DIVA f/F. The fact that songs eventually get ported from the home series was not the point I was refuting. It just seems an odd response to a question asking if Arcade has a different songlist, given it is still composed largely of original content that never makes it to the home series.

The gameplay is different and they can sell it with a different set of songs than Project Diva X.

What I expect is this will be a service, you can pay for each individual track and play them anytime you want. They will also probably make packages with popular tracks. Groove Coaster works this way.

It's possible that the disc or initial download version contain the base set of songs that everyone will have.

Oh, that's fair. Sorry, by "less true" I didn't mean "not true", just that there's definitely some overlap these days.

Perhaps that was phrased too strongly for what I was trying to say.
