In regards to having all the cut content back, I would be fine with a "Director's Cut" edition of the game as long as I can use it with my current save data. I also want to have Quiet back as a support buddy - why she is taken away from you post-game is dumb.
I just want "Chapter 3: PEACE" back [
if, in fact there is unseen content in it] and any and all cut content restored to the game. Kojima has said many times that MGSV is everything he has wanted to do with the Metal Gear saga since 1987 - so I find it disturbing that anything was cut from his "Magnum Opus" at all.
The "
Snatcher" issue keeps dancing through my mind - it had only 2 acts initially, resulting in the game's ending being a
huge cliffhanger; so Kojima added/put back in a 3rd act to wrap everything up - and it really did wrap everything up.
I
really want to like MGSV:TPP - I mean, in a sense we get to actually "
be" Big Boss, not just play as him. The 4th wall involvement in that aspect is really cool and I
think I like it, but I'll have to marinate on it a bit to know for sure. That also applies to the "true" ending and the cut "Mission 51: Kingdom Of The Flies" and the fact that it doesn't really answer or wrap-up anything regarding the plot threads created in the MGSV narrative [
and this is from someone who has listened to all the tapes].
Also, the
leaked mission names list - there are 61 story missions on it. If you add up all the story missions in the retail version of MGSV:TPP you get 50. There are 11 essential/story side ops that should have been in the main story ops category; so if you add them both together, you get 61. Maybe they just cut out the splash screen for Chapter 3 and made it a 2 chapter experience? [
yes, I know that the leaked list validity is in question - but there is just no way some of those missions could have been known by the general public in late July/early August. It's strange and has an air of truth about it.I think the leaker was just covering his ass by "admitting" to it being made-up]
We need clarification from Kojima on all this.
