XBL: Games with Gold

I found it strangely relaxing just running and jumping along. Then I ran into a giant frog that killed me instantly.

I have no idea what's really going on. I found an old man's monocle.

I can't see me going back to it. Easily forgettable experience.

Crysis 3 is the only thing that has me interested this month.

Played 15 mins of Deer God last night, and I just don't have the patience for it. I can see how some would enjoy it, but it's just not my type of game.

He runs into the same issue as mine, some (a lot of!) Xbox 360 on demand games are region checked despited being available on all regions, if you want to buy one from the US store, you have to use a US account, with a US geo IP, AND on a US console, everything must match. I moved my account to HK, and buying region locked/checked games on my HK console doesn't work because my geo IP doesn't match, it's frustrating.

Thanks for the bump too, I had forgotten to download Battlestations...cutting it close :P.

How to Survive is still up for the moment also if anyone still wants that on XB1

I too am having region issues with Crysis 3, unfortunately. As someone who is in the US and has a US XBL account but owns a JP 360, my only option to download this game for free would be to switch my account's region to JP/HK and use a corresponding VPN. According to Play Asia, all versions of Crysis 3 for 360 are region-locked in some way:

NA version = only works on NA and EU/PAL systems
EU version = only works on EU/PAL systems
JP version = 99% likely to only work on JP/Asian systems
Asian version = only works on JP/Asian and NA systems

All games available on GoD in the various regional XBL marketplaces will have the exact same region coding as the retail versions officially sold in those countries, and some may be IP-locked on top of that (though not always).

I actually played it for a pair of evening and it did not click.
It almost seems the demo of a larger project. Feels under-developed.

I remember Crysis 3 as a really bad game when I played it on PS+. I'll give it another try and see if the better controller actually improves the game, or if it's still too bad for me.

Man, The Deer God is weird. I played it for about 10 minutes this morning and still have little idea of what's going on with it.

Tomb Raider 2013 was awesome, though, as is the DE.

Haven't played a Tomb Raider since PS1, so pretty excited to try this. Pretty good marketing idea, pretty much zero chance I was going to buy the new one but this may sway me if I like it.

Enjoy. I finished the game for the first time like 2~3 weeks ago and thought it was pretty amazing.

I had zero expectations going into the reboot when I played it on PC last year, and it ended up being one of my favorites. It catches a lot of flak any time there's a TR thread, but I thought it was really good!

I've noticed it catches a lot of flak in particular for drawing from Uncharted... which drew from Tomb Raider in the first place, which in turn drew from Indiana Jones.

I have actually never played Crysis 3. I love FPS, you think I am going to enjoy it? Does it have a decent story and stuff?

Crysis 3 was alright, better than 2 if I remember. Might be fun for a lil shootbang action. Ill download it. Also bought Ac2,Brotherhood and Revelations for 2,49 a pop. I mean ac2 is such a classic game it still looks nice too.

Well, I think specifically it's how the TR reboot heavily modeled its gameplay from Uncharted. Uncharted took some cues from the original TR series as well, but more plot and aesthetic, much less actual gameplay-wise.

TR is a much more open-ended game though, more Metroidvania than Uncharted.

That's more design, though. Gameplay wise it's very similar to Uncharted, at least I thought so. I could see where people got that criticism from, though it never really bothered me.

Im surprised crysis 3 looks as good as it does. Not bad so far. About 2 hours in.
Framerate is ass tho.

Bland, convoluted story that doesn't make any sense if you played the first two, empty levels and boring engagement. It controls very well but it doesn't have a lot of high points.
