We got people shooting fireballs and yelling the name of moves.
SF is anime

Well yeah, but then again in a world where you have folks who think effin' DBZ isn't anime, you never know.

We're all just "dialing it up" out of boredom while we wait for the reveal, right...?

Maybe everyone should go find a book to read to pass the time

Eagle and Oro are not just "popular" they're actually regular popular too. (At least according to the EventHubs poll from this year.)

Eh I wouldn't really place much stock in that poll.... at least as far as true popularity goes. I mean it's laughable to say that Oro is more popular than Dudley... but going by that poll Oro is 6th to Dudley's 16th....

Mika and Karin were nowhere near Sakura in popularity in Zero 3 and the years after it, but if you want to go by these "polls" now they're more popular, yeah right. Sakura is the most crossover'd character in SF after Ryu....

It's cool that people want to see long gone characters back... but in ten years time and we're talking about the roster for SF6 are people going to act like Rufus is a popular character if he polls highly? More than likely lol...

yeah.... you know, i wouldn't mind killing off Hakan and porting over his style to his wife

Listen to this guy Ono.

Just realized, maybe the pics are a stage transition?
We know there's more to the stage since Egyptian statues can be seen to the right in a different room. Maybe they finished that part of the stage up and its in the current build?

That would make sense, there's a cave to the right of Forgotten Waterfall leading towards an Illuminati base.

Rashid was also teased with the stage being the waterfall stage.

Hmm, maybe it's both? First screencap looks to be relatively far away from the edges of the stage like most cinematic supers while the second screen makes Ryu look like he's heading straight into the Illuminati part of the map?

Ono really isn't making this easy lol.
The first hit is definitely a CA animation. The more I look at the second pic though, the more things I think it could be. Maybe that part of the stage sucks you in as a transition? There's a dust effect right near Ryu on the ground in the 2nd pic unless its also part of the CA since that same effect is in both pics.
I'm curious to know if there's an official source saying we get a reveal tomorrow. It's been less than a week since the last character reveal dropped.
Vague ass Ono pics with a caption stating that he's preparing for a stage event at TGS. Its probably a character or at least a new trailer of some kind.

Man, Ono is such a tease with these pics. Showing bearded Ryu getting beat on when he's not going to be immediately available to everyone.

I guess that special could be Karin's. Cool.

My wishlist, because why not:

1. Alex - he needs to reclaim his status as protagonist of III and become a mainstay next to Ryu and Chun from now on;
2. Sean - I always liked (playing as) him and he is one of the characters I feel could grow in popularity the most from a (slight) redesign;
3. Juri - she's the coolest representative of IV imo and we could use another female fighter;
4. Cody - another super-canonical character that I'd like to see come back in a redesigned manner (i.e. with his original brown hair and without the cuffs);
5. Urien - he seems to make too much sense story-wise not to be included;
6. Oro - another character with great potential to make a good comeback;
7. Q or Twelve - I like both, yes even Twelve, and would love to see either lovable freak return;
8. Ibuki or Yun - both are very welcome in my book, Yun for his cool cap and Ibuki for being a ninja;
9-xx. Rest of the III cast;
.
.
.
99. Anyone else from SFII - they've had their shot and if they absolutely need to be there again (because people simply refuse to move on to other characters), make them DLC, preferably with some tweaks or redesigns.

Yeah, I'm setting myself up for disappointment indeed with my SFIII biased list. Who knows, maybe Capcom will grace us with a III roster pack at some point complete with new chapters to the story mode? Sort of like a Super version but then through DLC and containing both characters and story elements. I can only hope so.

It's not going to be a "new" fighter. They'll roll out someone from Third Strike.
I agree that it isn't a newcomer, though I strongly believe that the character being teased is Karin. Though I suppose everyone's allowed to have their own opinion. We'll find out the truth in a few hours, anyway.

I want some more female fighters, so my wishlist is

1. Karin
2. Ingrid
3. Maki
4. Lucia or Linn Kurosawa or any new female character, really. For many of the existing ones i never jived with their playstyle so a new one could be great.

I just want Alex! Too bad that's not looking great.

idk, apparently Siliconera is pretty reliable and confident when they report things coming from their "source". In fact, they're so confident they don't say its a rumor. They just state its happening as if its already confirmed and from what others have said, they have a good track record with doing that. (Dead Rising 3, D&D, FF7 Remake, etc.)
Then again, they never said that all the characters are in the initial roster, so who knows. At this point, its a guessing game. The next character reveal will decide things.

nah, i'm thinking gief and sim are in. I'm pretty convinced on Gief.

the hype for each new character reveal is fun, hopefully this continues post-release with the drip feed of DLC characters

we could do this every couple months!

Rashid literally has a command run and guy's tatsu, lol.

Via Ono'sTwitter, our first in-game teases:

Looks like a CA animation.

Oh well. I'm glad that I'm wrong. It look like it might be Karin's Critical Attack. She could use her powerful leg sweep which made him spinning so hard in the air (yes it's one of anime trope) then attack him with strong combo when he's in the air.

Hey, Heath! Why not arrange the characters into rows of 4, considering we'll have 16 eventually?

I did considered that but I think it might be better if we just stick with what I already did because I have a feeling that we might hear something about other characters that wouldn't be on initial roster before the game is coming out.
