So you either are destroying furniture right now, swearing loudly that you have been betrayed, or you are an Atlus fanboy with stockholm syndrome? Some people... *lol*

It's fine, just make it Persona 5 Golden right away.

Considering the many people who willingly and quickly defended that lie, absolutely they are fanboys. Yet even with doses of reality like this, they cling to hope.

Not even going to watch the trailer smh

I'm sure the Atlus USA people were either as in the dark about it as we were or explicitly told to keep saying that it was going to be 2015 even though it wasn't. Either way, the blame most likely lies 100% with the Japan side of Atlus.

It's kinda terrifying if the US branch were in the dark about a game they were supposed to be releasing within the next 4 months. It's kinda why I don't believe that the US branch had zero idea about the delay. You have a point about the company possibly being told to keep saying 2015 after they were told it would be delayed to 2016.

Either way, the game looks great, so I don't mind the delay if they're going everything in their power to make use of the PS4 hardware.

Of course I'm wrong, we got the official announcement. And you're still an asshole.

I'm not regretting for trusting John Hardin, even if that trust is broken now.
Same here, I was blatantly wrong, I have eaten my crow and I am salty at the moment because I wanted the game to be everyone's thing to talk about after TGS and a 2015 release would've done just that. I trusted Hardin and he broke that trust so now I can't take anything he says seriously.

Games "media" reaction to this is why you don't throw dates out like that.

They're reporting the delay more than the trailer.

How is anyone surprised at this? Seriously!

It's September and nobody had even seen the game running, yet it was supposed to be out by Christmas.

Bets on it being delayed again? 50/50.

That's fine, games get delayed all the time. My issue with this is that they insist it will be released in 2015 then delay it.

Why insisting on 2015 then? All it did is make Atlus look like a bunch of penises.

Oh well, might as well make the game better. Got enough shit to play until then anyways

This game's tone looks so much more up-my-alley than 4's. Hot damn, the time has finally come -- I'm actually hyped for a Persona game.

The announcement of this delay wouldn't have been nearly as bad if they didn't keep telling us that it was coming in 2015. Stupid move. If it wasn't for Atlus' previous record of releasing games close to announcing the date then I doubt I would have believed them. Urgh.

Well at least PV3 was worth a damn.

Waiting so long for many trailers that turn into nothing seems to be a thing these days :P

It's not even the delay I'm angry with. Anybody that wasn't drinking the Kool-Aid knew it was going to happen. It's the fact that Atlus USA, TO THE VERY END, both on GAF and on any other social media, essentially kept up this lie and won't take ownice for it. They really shot themselves in the foot when it comes to fan trust.

Because that's how companies work? If asked you stick to the company line until the higher ups say otherwise, even if you know better.

If atlus usa had said anything else that would confirm a delay before they had permission to.

...and yet all of this could have been avoided if Atlus USA never said anything involving 2015. Say 'wait for more info.' There, ambigious enough to not confirm or deny.

They don't say anything?

To be fair, between official PR and irrational armchair analyst #1356, I'd still assume official PR knows more.

Except there are industry vets and knowledgeable posters familiar with the industry posting here who know both development and how PR operates and expressed in clear rational terms why a delay was likely.
