If (when) we get Alex and Urien, Vega really is going to be an extraordinarily weird outlier in this starting lineup...Juri really would have made so much more sense

If you told me to pick 7 characters from SF2 that I thought deserved to be in SFV, I would have chosen: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Guile, Bison, and Vega. I feel it's a proper mix of extremely popular characters and unique playstyles. As Nash is filling the Guile slot in a way the only notable absentee is Dhalsim, who would be my 8th SF2 pick. Everyone that's left either is too boring or there's another, less used character that has a similar style.

I'm really excited for the Hakan reveal, the Dubai stage confirms it. Also the temple stage is obviously an Indian temple but not a monk temple, so I guess that confirms Dhalsim as well since they need a character to reveal the stage with.


I mean I think it's the preferable option to just stating "I'm right" over and over for no reason, like our stage imagining friend is doing.

I don't recall the rumored coming straight from Siliconera Staff being wrong as of late. But yeah, Capcom has lied about character rosters in the past (the most recent example being Decapre in USF4). And if Alex & Urien were DLC, you'd think that Siliconera would make that distinction. Hell, why release their article before Karin & Mika if the SF3 guys were DLC?

I didn't either until Karin was offically announced. I am not the biggest SF3 fan but I have no doubt that they will be in the roster now.

I have other characters I would prefer but as long as I get them as DLC than it's all good.

i would SFIV to F&F as well. it brought back interest to the franchise with a lot of familiar faces.

They won't. Capcom said the launch roster would have four characters "you would expect to be in a SF game" (Ryu, Chun, Ken, Bison, Cammy, Vega, with two remaining), four character we haven't seen in a while (Nash, Birdie, Mika and Karin) and four newcomers (Necalli, Rashid, with two remaining).

We have left two classic and two new characters, therefore no Urien or Alex on launch

Having been involved with this thread for a while now, I have to say that some of the posters in this thread are some of the biggest bunch of bastards and down right assholes I have ever met.

If you don't believe that Alex and Urien are in SFV, that's fine. I'm not going to take it personally. However, there are so many of you that just act like such arrogant jackasses that there are times where I don't want to even go into this thread. The way some treat others and the personal attacks against other users favourite characters is downright shameful, and the insistent mocking that a few of you do constantly is insulting. I'm not naming any names, but it's users like you that make me fucking hate this series at times.

Seriously. The roster's already great, and it's gonna keep being great regardless of who the last two veterans are. They still have to sell the game to people who have no idea who Alex and Urien are, and there's still a ton of time before release. The character announcement hype is short-lived anyway. They put in Vega so they obliviously don't care about hyping up die-hards exclusively.
