Trails of Cold Steel (Sen no Kiseki) getting Limited Edition

Does anyone know how will the cross-save work for this game?

Like FFX that handled it via cloud (with no need of PS+), or will it only be via Sony's existing mechanisms?

Vita edition pre ordered from amazon. Any idea if this will show up at best buy eventually? Wouldn't mind using the GCU discount.

Then again, still haven't seen the xenoblade ce show up there so my hopes are low.

Also really appreciate Xseed being open with a lot of things and being candid while interacting with fans on forums and on twitter. Cats + Bacon rule.

I dunno guys. vita or ps3?

vita - portability, headphone jack (easier access rather), slightly downgraded graphics and resolution, ever so slightly longer load times after patches.

ps3 - big screen with better graphics (on my new sony 55 tv) slightly better load times, only playable at my house.

Thinking about leaning towards vita but dunno.

I'm personally going for Vita. Portability is huge for me, and sometimes, I feel lazy and just want to play in bed.

I'm going with the Vita version. Portability and suspend/resume. Plus, I can take screenshots easily :P.

Get both.

If you can only get one them Vita.

Ordered the Vita LE as an import from Amazon US to UK.

If anyone's interested it came to $71.96 with import fees deposit and expedited shipping.

PS3 loading time without SSD is way longer than the Vita's btw. Though if you have SSD, PS3 is a lot faster.

Really? Then why people said loading times were better on PS3? Are they that dense?

Some are probably looking at comments that were made when the game first came out, before any patches were released for it. The patches helped the Vita version in regards to loading times and a few other things.

Well, unless I'm thinking of another game, the Vita patch was already announced like on day one or even before.

Wait, explain this one. I am calling BS. From everything I have seen PS3 had better loading times, and no, SSDs were not involved.

The PS3 version needed the patch way more than the Vita to be honest. Day one PS3 was almost unplayable with loading times so ridiculous, same for Vita version.

The first patch made the PS3 much better while doing almost nothing to fix the Vita's and I bet most of the comments are talking about this period.

Then a loooong wait for:

The second patch fixes the Vita loading and it has become pretty fast at loading, but there are some hitches here and there in cutscenes, which are mostly absent in the PS3 version.

Wait almost a year.

The last patch fixes most of the problems for both versions, so technically you should be fine whichever you pick :D

That explains it then, I didn't know there were more patches after the first.

I'm trying really hard to find Vita gameplay videos after 26.nov 2014 (last patch 1.03), but cannot find any. You know of any which you can share?
PS3 has way more gameplay videos after that date.

I played 2 of the Gagharv games but by the third the terrible localisation was just too much to be able to enjoy it. Xseed would do a far better job but I'd take the slim possibility of them considering Ao and Zero over these every time.

I'd like Ghostlight to have had the rights to CS, Ross from Ghostlight is a huge fan of FC and it was a shame they lost out to NISA. Is there even a PC version of this game though? And why would it not be handled by NISA or Xseed themselves if there were?

I hope the Gagharv trilogy is re-released and/or retranslated at some point in the future.

I've seen this sentiment posted a lot. Couple of months ago I popped in the first game on PSP (I think the vermillion one?) and played it for about an hour and a half. I didn't notice that the translations were particularly poor though. Does it get much worse later?

It's not just the bad grammar/spelling/weird mistakes, it's also that Bamco fucked with the combat systems of the games too, for the worse.

The PS3 version's loading times are in no way worse than the Vita's. I don't know where you're getting this from. The PS3 had messed up hitching in the animations at launch, but once that was patched out, it was better than the Vita version across the board.

PS3 LE ordered! :D

Yeah I own all three and have played the first two. They're shells of their true potential.
Bad combat and an atrocious localization really brings down the otherwise decent story, good music, and nice graphics (for what it is).

PS3 LE preordered. Thanks.

I was replaying Sen no Kiseki on my friend's launch PS3, just had a lot of guys come over and play, when it came on PS Plus in JP. The intro cutscenes and the loading made me crazy when I'm used to the almost instant loading on my own PS3.

Yeh the PS3 version is fine for loading times.

But then I would say that because I'm a Sony astrotrufer of course ;)

Anyway. Good to see the West continues to get limited editions.

I recall the translation being somewhat adequate at the very start out Vermillion. The English was pretty much correct but rather flat and characterless. Functional but bland. It seemed to degenerate as the game went on and continued to get worse with each game until they lines were all like very rough draft Google translations.

Ahhh I see.

So the release date is at Nov 17?
