Yes.

So maybe Gill became Necalli?! :-O

Maybe Necalli is the 2000 y/o Illuminati Emperor that Gill is supposed to be a reincarnation of. Who knows...

It took a whole new title to get any 3s characters where alpha characters were included in the original console port which was treated as the same game and the first worldwide Sf4 release.

It took way longer for any 3s characters to show up and by the time we got 3 alpha had ammassed 7 reps.

Aside from the core cast+Sagat, none of the sf2 cast was in Alpha 1

Aside from the core cast, nobody in Alpha made it into 3

Aside from the core cast, no one from 3 made it into vanilla sf4

They obviously backtracked from 3 since that was supposed to be a total refresh (and probably not the only one planned), but it doesn't mean Capcom hates 3. If nobody from 4 makes it into V then the cycle continues; if nobody from 3 makes it, then you can hate Capcom all you want.

I just don't have faith in Capcom, it's too good to be true that Urien could be coming, it's probably gonna be sf2 cronies, samecrud different day scenario.

Just for fun I have listed my most wanted characters that haven't appeared in USFIV

1. Alex
2. Maki
3. Urien
4. Mike Hagger
5. Sodom
6. Eagle
7. Q

As for Remy, Oro, Twelve, Necro, Juli, Juni, Retsu, Geki, Lee, Joe and Gill I don't care for those characters.

None of the characters I usually play are on the roster yet. Kind of sad to see very few options that I'm actually interested in.

In the same boat. If the leak is true then only Laura or Zen are possible mains for me. Otherwise I'm just going to have to suck it up and stick with someone that I'm not to thrilled about.

Hmm wonder if Valle knows something

It makes sense tbh. Those 4 characters fullfill gameplay, story and nostalgia reasons. Add Guile to that list too.

If SFV is really a fall of shadowloo story, it makes a lot of sense for me that the original 4 bosses of SF2 be in this game. I know Sagat is not shadowloo anymore, but he had some pretty strong ties to it, is Ryu's rival, and adds a zoner to the cast.

You're not going to be in the know ever again if you leak the know.

This is probably grandpa Valle's kind way of letting us know that Urien and Alex are the final two because he'd never reveal the actual characters.

It's interesting to see how polarizing the last two are, but also how similar they are.

Gief/Sim vs. Alex/Urien

First two are both SFII vets.
Second two are both SFIII vets.

Gief and Alex are grapplers.
Sim and Urien are zoners.

Feels like there is something to these pairings being so specific.

If you take the first three letters of all four of their character names then what number of letters do you get total?

Twelve!

If Twelve's revealed as the second last classic character then it would kill the dreams of SF fans throughout the world. When things die they begin to decay; a process that can also be referred to as necrosis. What classic SF3 character do the first 5 letters of that word spell?

Necro!

I think you're onto something here Karsticles.

How about this, which of the 2 pairs would be move more copies of the game?

Neither.

The number of potential customers who would or would not buy based on any of these sets of pairs

Alex/Urien
Boxer/Sagat
Sim/Gief

Is bound to be super-low. Most people who buy the game will buy the game due to it being Street Fighter, period. The branding is going to carry 75% of the weight here. The other 25% might include some people taking very specific characters into account, but I can't imagine it's going to be a sizable slice of that pie.

Rog/Sagat or Guile

Gief/Sim

Alex/Urien or Q?

The characters will be coming in these pairs, and I feel the SFIII characters have the least chance of showing up tbh.

People pair Sim and Gief together because they're like the tier right below Ryu/Ken/Chun Li/Sonic Boom character in terms of being series staples. It's more than simply being from the original world warrior cast. The pair was carried over into Alpha and the Ex series. Look at what moves Seth assimilated. His moves are based on Ryu/Ken, Guile, Chun Li, Sim and Gief.

It's pretty embarrassing to see people complain about roster stagnation when they don't even understand that much.

Still going Boxer/Sagat. Urien as secret boss

Guile will get introduced as DLC (same with Sakura, Alex, etc. etc.) as they further advance the story through the updates to the game. There's going to be a lot of story-important characters, I'm betting, that are added to the game (along with relevant chunks of story) throughout the lifespan of the game.

If the game is being planned with extra characters in mind from jump, it's not a big hop to suggest it's also going to have an open-ended story that they'll continue to add to as well. Street Fighter V will likely not have a finite "end" to it as shipped. They'll keep adding story to it, I think.
