So just replaying game... What was special about the Hamid fighter in mission 6?? Is there anything special about the soviet-afghan war related to this game that I missed?

I don't think there is much beyond that they were wiped out by parasites, which is why that prisoner survived since he couldn't speak.

Among the many things missing in this game, we needed

and

For real. How can you not give us a bow in Afghanistan in the 80s. And no motorcycle!?

His village was destroyed by the language parasites, everyone thought it was the soviets, but they just burned the village to stop the plague from spreading.

And more jungle. This game really was set up to be the ultimate Rambo stimulator, but the jungle portion of Africa is unimaginably tiny!!!

It really was. More jungle and the ability to use that to your advantage was sorely missed.

MGS3 really did do a jungle better...

AND THAT WAS IN RUSSIA

I could trade half of Africa for more jungle. I'd keep the oil field, the air port, the mines... And then make the rest a big ass jungle with a few base camps scattered inside. A few roads, rivers, and waterfalls, and caves.

God, this game's potential is outright astronomical.

Just finished Mission 46

So...I'm confused. Who's the Big Boss in post-MGSV world? Ahab? Did the original Big Boss just retire?

What was the point of the switch?

Yeah I get that MGS4 is him but how do we know it's him in MG2? (Sorry I never played MG1 or 2 I just read a synopsis)

Well, the timeline at the end of MGSV specifically states that Venom gets whacked during the events of MG1.

Also, the tape he listens to at the end is labeled Operation Intrude aka the events of MG1

As much as I like the fan made comic it doesnt sync with the ending because venom seems pissed at the real big boss that he is going to die, he helped spread a legend for years and in the end he is pissed he has to die for it

What I would've preferred is that BB does give him that final call but Venom berates him for what hes become.

Playing this game in buttery 60FPS has ruined gaming for me. I bought RDR a few months ago, and I went to try it for the first time a few minutes ago and my eyeballs burned. Dunno how I reset myself :(

They could have just made a farce of the whole silly twist by having Big Boss stare at Venom through a window and Venom freaks out thinking it's a mirror, rubbing his horn in confusion and shit before Big Boss puts a cigar out on his forehead and goes "Sup?"

Read the bottom of the OP

Thanks. Sorry. I literally just finished, listening to tapes right now and will watch that vid when I'm done

Is this how fans felt when MGS2 released? I almost don't want to play the game anymore because of this imposter.

This might be worse because in MGS2 you know you're playing as someone else. The ending doesn't invalidate everything you did and felt through the entire game

The thing about MGS 2.

We didn't predic the twist years in advance.
It isn't the biggest twist in the game.
It happens like 30 minutes in.

Did people predict this twist that long ago?

I immediately suspected it because Ishamel is obviously Kiefers voice. But then he vanished and I thought it was a hallucination
