He also said that Solid Snake in MGS2 and MGS4 is himself too. Part of Raiden's story is Kojima's own too (the relationship and banter between Rose and Raiden in MGS2 is based on Kojima's own with his wife).

Big Boss would be his soldier dad then? Maybe why he can't make him go all evil?

If only we got a Subsistence edition where we get:

Speaking of a subsistence edition. Anyone know how long it usually takes before the release between the original edition vs the subsistence edition?

Yes, Kojima deliberately left out the closing chapter of the game he has been working on for 5 years and ultimately lead to his resignation from Konami, and he's going to patch it in a month after release just to troll the 5% of the hardcore players who roam the internet all day looking for answers to the MGSV plot, while in the meantime trainwrecking the experience for everyone playing, just for the lulz.

People had the same attitude when it came to the identity of Venom as far back as 2013. Just sayin'.

Watching the uKnighted stream, 3dogg just said he thinks the Chapter 3 title card just pops up before/after the nuke disarmament if it's ever unlocked. There are no missions or anything, Chapter 3 is just the world of MGS V post-nukes. Sounds like Kojima would do, lol.

Maybe there's more to it. We've been told it's possible to unlock it by konami on twitter, but there's a child soldier in that video, so it would have to be post-kingdom of flies. So what gives? Is KoF hidden in the game and we're just waiting for a PT style revelation of how to unlock it?

People have been researching like crazy into Ch.3 and this video on a thread on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/metalgearsolid/comments/3lme8z/to_unlock_chapter_3/

It would fit with the theme of the deterrence video for a chapter 3 titled "PEACE". Maybe there's a real big twist hidden somewhere in this game? It would be absolutely insane if true.

Why are people still hoping for shit like this? You are only setting yourself up for disappointment. The game was simply not completed as first intended, stuff was cut and we got a crappy ending for it. Nothing more, nothing less.

I know there is another chapter missing that ties some more loose ends together. But I felt the ending with venom snake explained a lot of shit throughout the series about how some of the stuff went down. Was a pretty smart way to plug some of the plot holes.

The fact the nuke ending is supposedly possible but relies on insanity level community planning is honestly kind of insulting. They bothered to make this, those cutscenes, but not the actual ending to several characters plotlines?

I enjoyed Kojima's ideas and his ambition up to this point, but this is the first time and game he legit needs to be told he fucked up and to get his shit together if/when he returns to videogames.

why are you doing tis to my heart?

Maybe Skullface is paying shit. This happens between not having minimum wage and unequal pay for men and women.

I'm the one who leaked the story info:

I didn't play any of the stuff that turned out to be cut; in fact I didn't even start playing the game until 1st September ;-)

I'm also the first person who noticed the MSX tape link between The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes:

So I'm pretty much to blame for everyone being excited about that at the the minute :-)

Shhhh. Your 5 minutes of fame are over.

Considering how hard Kojima made the last puzzle in PT, I'm not surprised if CH3/Nuke Scene is unlock able doing something crazy.

Has anyone destroyed 10 nukes in the dispatch missions yet?

Well, maybe chapter 3 is just that, Peace, nothing happens.

The only letdown is the fact that this ending has been spoiled, if someone had instead stumbled upon it 10 years from now it'd be the most brilliant thing ever.

Are we still in Mass Effect 3 Indoctrination Theory "no there's secretly more!" denial stage or what?

I wish the game had more story missions.

The generic wet-work missions make sense considering their goal for motherbase.

It's so unfortunate that that's what 90% of the game was.

If "Chapter" 3 is in the game I'm betting it's like Threedogg said and it's just a title card that plays before/after the nuclear disarmament cutscene and doesn't have any actual missions or story or side ops or items.

Basically we've seen Chapter 3 already by seeing the title card and the cutscene uploaded to youtube.

But if it is in the game and is tied to there being nobody using nukes online then yeah, no one will see it. Now, if that is the point, there won't be a world without nukes, then that is kinda cool and something I guess can only be done in games (giving a condition to seeing content but never being able to fulfil that condition) but it's kinda pointless because we only know about it because some people explored the PC version files. Kojima/Konami made no mention of a Chapter 3 or a reward for having no nukes and there isn't an incentive or reason stated in game for you to never make a nuke.

50,000 bad
and 30,000 good

I believe

Edit: Man, what the fuck. I just did the OKB mission with zero alerts and I get a damn "D"
MGSV, where speed trumps stealth every time.
Cue to Metal Gear Sonic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjjHMIYnm2Q

Ha. Peace, the unreachable chapter of humanity. How poetic.

If there was a chapter 3 with actual content to unlock, the people looking into the PC version would have found it by now.

Anyway, finished the game yesterday. The story was indeed very disappointing. The reveal came without any buildup whatsoever, just unlock the mission and done. So when it came I was like "..ok?".

Skull face also seemed like wasted potential, the car ride was a catastrophe. I had high hopes for him as a villain after Ground zeroes.

Still, gameplay wise it was really fun, until chapter 2 came and wanted me to repeat missions to further unlock the story. What?

So in the end I enjoyed the experience, but it could have been so much more. Oh well.

If there was something monumental hidden in the game, it would have been dug up already on the PC version. Thinks like the title card, nuke ending etc. were big finds, but it something else was there it would have been found as well.

Did we ever find out why the PS4 version is 7GB more than all the others?

If I was to guess, perhaps removing any major cut content to prevent people from datamining it. Or MGO data. People found references to those MGS3 outfits before the TGS conference, but no models were found. Maybe all that's still in the console versions. The fact that they removed the console-exclusive DLC items (e.g. Adamska pistol) while leaving in references to them further suggests what they might have removed from the PC version.

DONNA BURKE?

WHOAHHHHHH HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

WHHOOOOAAAAHHH HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO UUUUU OOOUUUUU... OH

WHOOOAHHHH HOOOOOO!

jesus christ the Chapter 3 shit has sent me over the edge.

Continuing the pattern of disappointment Chapter 3 is probably in the game, but not anything significant.

Like, it's probably the title-card you get when everyone has disabled their nukes, and prior to watching the nuclear disarmament cutscene.
