Current programs on Starz:
Da Vinci's Demons - Didn't do it for me, too gritty
Black Sails - Didn't do it for me, too gritty
Power - Didn't do it for me, too gritty
Outlander - I think this is marginally decent
Survivor's Remorse - It's shocking that a dumb comedy executive produced by Lebron James about his own life is this good
The Missing - This is great, but also a foreign import
Blunt Talk - I think this is a lot smarter than it gets credit for. Still hasn't really settled into being a "good show", but I think it'll probably get there.
Previous programs on Starz:
Boss - Most people would say it didn't do it for them, because it was too gritty. But I think it was enjoyable if melodramatic.
Camelot - Didn't do it for me, too dull
Crash - Didn't do it for me, just not any good
Magic City - Didn't really do it for me, too dull
Pillars of the Earth - Decent miniseries, although I'm not really a big Ken Follett reader normally.
Spartacus - Didn't do it for me, too gritty
The White Queen - Didn't do it for me, too dull
Gravity - Didn't do it for me, just awful (cc ivysaur12)
Party Down - excellent comedy, well worth watching.
Current programs on Showtime:
Homeland - I think this is pretty bad, but less bad than it was a little while ago, but a lot more bad than it was to start with. Watch the first season-ish.
Ray Donovan - Didn't really do it for me, too gritty
Masters of Sex - I should like this but I don't
The Affair - This is a great, taut drama. I bet the second season will be a stinker.
Episodes - One of those funny-not funny comedies. Not really a dramedy either though.
Shameless - First several seasons are quite good, I think Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, and Joan Cusack especially are great. Kinda lost interest after a while.
House of Lies - I like this more than a lot of people, it has a kind of sexy edgy vibe to it. The end of season 1 is really well shot. I'm a bit behind and it's not a must watch, but I liked it more than most people did.
Stuff that's aired on Showtime in the last ten or so years:
Happyish - I'm the only person on earth who liked this, but to me it was this great, angry, neurotic, intellectual show. Like I Heart Huckabees on PCP or a very angry and more clever Mad Men
Web Therapy - Take it or leave it
The Borgias - I got burned out on The Tudors
The Big C - Not great but not terrible
Nurse Jackie - Got about 5 too many seasons
United States of Tara - Decent main performance, not much else
Californication - Got about 5 too many seasons
The Tudors - Got about 2 too many seasons
Dexter - Got about 6 too many seasons
Weeds - Got about 5 too many seasons
Huff - This was pretty smart, Hank Azaria's lead is fun
The L Word - Got about 2 too many seasons
Dead Like Me - The best thing that's ever aired on Showtime
