Finally got a code from EA support for the Rock Band 2 export. Took a couple of tries. Then I used my sisters EA info and pretended I was her. I'm not saying that helped, but it might have helped lol. Had to go through 3 codes til it finally worked. If anybody is still trying, make sure you're logged into your account on the webstore. I got it to work there since it was an instant copy and paste. From there I just logged on to RB3 and bought the pack.

Well, I'm officially a member of rb4gaf. I bought 3 $25 xbl gift cards on the Microsoft store using the golden crisp coupon(so I paid $45 for $75) and pre ordered the game. The adapter is also ordered from Amazon for $10. I will see how that works and maybe get a new guitar down the line.

The tug of war stuff from GH1 was both awesome and terrible. It sometimes felt like one person got an unfair advantage, but sometimes it was magical. The guitar solo in Iron Man was one of the magical ones, because it felt like a true back and forth.
If they do bring back tug of war, they should do the guitar duel from the end of Crossroads.

That's called variable track speed and should already be in the game at launch. The feature they announced for the patch is specifically related to breakneck speed.
They didn't add harmonies to every single song (that wouldn't make any sense), they only added them to the old tracks that actually have harmonies in the audio.

Will any other place have the legacy adapter? Gamestop still doesn't have it for pre-order. Was gonna get it day 1 via GS but now not even Amazon lists it.

Is the lego rock band export still working also?
EDIT: Also why is it so much more expensive on xbox one than Ps4 in all retailers? Ive checked Amazon, gamestop etc. its all like €20 more expensive on xbox one.
RB1 --> still exportable normally
RB2 --> Down to who you get from EA
TBRB --> not exportable without customs
LEGO --> Export completely gone
GDRB --> Export "ended" but still seems to work, I exported earlier this year YMMV.
RB3 --> being "looked into"
Xbox One version includes an adapter to use 360 instruments, PS4 doesn't need one

Finally got a working PS3 code. One small problem, it's a US code and I specifically asked for a UK one and the guy asked again and I said UK again... What are the chances I can find someone to trade codes with me?

Still no word on getting the MIDI adapter working? I guess I'll just treat it like drum karaoke and play along with songs using my own sounds in practice mode until they release that. It sucks not being able to actually play the game and get scores though.

I just tried this right now and no, it doesn't work. It only gives you the option to download the 20 bonus tracks that came with rockband 2.
This whole thing is such a mess.
Haven't kept up lately, but any chance the new PS4 guitar is compatible with the PS3 GH and RB games? I already had a full set of instruments, but my GH3 Les Paul died today and I figured I'd replace it with the new Stratocaster. Would be cool if I could use it with the old games too.
No the new guitars will only work on Rock Band 4.

Yeah, only the boxes that say 'save $10' with a picture of xb1 games come with the coupon. You get $10 off any purchase at the Microsoft store of $25 or more. So you can buy a $25 xbox gift card for $15. The cereal should cost $2-3 so a $7-8 savings per box.
Just..... Don't eat the cereal.....

I just told EA chat I bought the game and it didn't have a manual and they instantly gave me a code
Rock Band 3 isn't exportable right now and you'll have to get a code from EA to export Rock Band 2 (but getting that code is worth it)
If I were to get a RB2 code, I'd still need to find a copy of RB3 to do the transfer. And I'm not sure I want to pay 30 EUR for one when I am pretty much done with it 15 minutes after.
Still hoping they will just sell the setlists of the previous games sometime. It would suck if they just go away. I'm sure many people new to RB4 would like to get them.

Don't count on it, they're prioritizing new DLC. The Rock Band Twitter doesn't rule it out, however.
Yeah I guess. I do think it's one of those things they would not even talk about unless it is actually there. It can only backfire if they so much as hint at it.
Ah well, RB2 setlist too much of a hassle. If the Earth Wind & Fire day 1 DLC is any indication of what they have to offer us in the future then I'm excited for it.
I think the platform approach is just a much better idea for a game like Rockband. It will keep the playerbase together etc. I hope it works for them.

Some say they work; others, say they don't. So, maybe?
No. The only game that required and actual game disc was RB1. The codes were just used to download a big file.
Probably not. I know the files were region locked on the Playstation store. Not sure how M$ handles their store.

LEGO keys themselves are expired I believe, (and requires a game disc) and GD may still work and doesn't need the disc for RB3, Metal Track Pack will work, I have a few track packs and although the games don't work in my xbox, the codes worked fine

Well they were mentioned as on-disc artists so either the revealed setlist isn't actually final or the lead designer is wrong.

Either way, it sounds like we're getting U2 DLC this year.
