It's still possible that the Siliconera rumor is true and Alex/Urien are just the first two dlc characters.
I think all the "revamped" characters are pretty cool. Talking about Mika, Karin, Birdie and Nash here. Bison and Vega, too, if you want. Those and the four newcomers make it an interesting roster to me.
Yeah, we know every detail about Laura and Zen. How boring.

People love to overreacts. I'm pretty confident that Alex and Urien are going to be in the game either way. I just wish that people would be patience enough to wait for NYCC event to see how it pan out.

Honestly, I don't think the slow dripfeeding of character reveals is particularly effective marketing, anyway. By the time the game actually goes on sale, most of that "hype" will have dissipated entirely. The game will get sold based on the full package presented to people in the month prior to its drop.
The character reveal tour is 100% for people who are already going to get the game regardless. As such - it doesn't really matter how/when they drop that info, honestly. They've got us no matter what.
There was no inside info, though. It was just speculation that eventually solidified and became "inside info" after the fact. Much in the same way there are still "facts" attributed to Bogard that Bogard never actually stated.

I was referring to the Twitter tease not the actual reveals.
So far they have been meltdowns for every tease because we don't Know who's coming .
If Akuma's not one of the first dlc characters than Capcom is stupid.

Also, if story is a big deal, I think that characters are going to tie into arcs. This will keep casuals coming back to see how the story plays out and give reason to the characters they add via dlc. Guile, Alex, Urien aren't in yet because it's not up to that point in the story.
Imagine you're playing Charlie and Guile sees him in a cutscene but you can't continue that part of the story until you unlock Guile.
Ah, fair enough. Although with Zangeif throwing a wrench into the guesses, couldn't there technically be a shake up? Is there a reason to think Zen and Laura are any more legit of leaks than Alex and Urien were/are?
I was the one that brought it up as being fake yesterday. I was just saying that since Zangief got revealed today, maybe it was real and was just changed back quickly. I'm not bringing it up to make me feel better MAN.
I give 2 shits as to who's in the roster at the end of the day. I'm not in this idiotic war as to who's in or who's out. I just want the beta on PC. that's all I care about. They could put Bozo the clown in this game and I'd still play it with a smile on my face.
Zangief was also listed in one of the first "leaks", the one that got Mika and Karin right

Would really love guile. Seems we don't have a pure zoner yet and I would really like to alt. Him in this game. With the execution barrior lowered, I'm going to try out defensive characters more since I should be able to pull off good reaction moves consistently now. Also interesting how to make a zoner good with all the anti FB moves.

I was excited for Karin, but her Rekkas were originally her main moves and they are now limited to her V-Trigger, so uh...
Bison just looks like a ridiculously slow version of his Alpha self and with his new vertical attack.
Rashid just looks absolutely awful too. He might end up being a good character, but his trailer just makes him look like a silly cross between Juri and El Fuerte with tornados. Plus, his default costume sucks. Similalry with R. Mika (depsite her having great moves now).

let it go, people need to stop scrambling for reasons to justify leaks. Karin was the #1 requested character from japan and R.Mika was Ono's fanboy dream. I give siliconera zero credit for those reveals.

That's your fault for taking everything too literal. What if they didn't even know that they are downloadable characters. They just heard that the characters would be in the game.

I'm mildly disappointed about Gief being in (especially if it somehow means Dhalsim is also a lock), but I don't especially hate fighting him or anything. What's more disappointing to me is that his animation doesn't look to be up to par with the other characters. It might just be that his movements are more boring by nature, but there's something about it that's less impressive than what we've been seeing so far.
Also his shiny red skin during the spin move looks dumb as hell. Like's he's a giant balloon.

There's no "info" to repost.
Basically, after Dahlgren made that "classic characters" statement regarding the green boxes on the character select screen, people started guessing what that could mean, and if those green boxes meant Street Fighter II characters only, which two SFII characters could it be.
From there, people begain making paired guesses, and then other people saw those guesses and started referencing them like they were made using solid information as opposed to educated inference. And then when pro players started also giving their own guesses, due to their status in the community, people began looking at those guesses as if they were made on the basis of insider info.
But there was never any actual/valid leak of insider information with Sim/Gief being in the game. There were false leaks and bullshit rumors that included their names that eventually got debunked, but Gief's inclusion doesn't retroactively make that bullshit suddenly fresh again.
edit: response above was speaking to the Gief/Sim pairing again - misunderstood that SimSim was an actual poster whose inside info referred to today's reveal and beta information. Apologies.
This narrative seems to be gaining steam. Not sure if it's solely because the reveals are coming faster than expected and people aren't considering the possibility that character reveals aren't ultimately going to be a big part of the real marketing push a month before release, or if it's just a means to deal with the fact the characters currently on the roster aren't really appealing to them.

Yeah, I did mentioned that in the past that we are more likely to have more than 16 characters. I think Capcom's stance with 16 characters is red herring for people to believe in.
The reactions here is exactly what Capcom wanted. People were like, Urien and Alex are not going to be in the game because ZANGIEF AND DHALSIM STOLE MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS' SPOTS!! BAH!
Then New York Comic Con SFV Conference happened, then we got a surprise reveal trailer with Alex in, everyone would go wild.
I hope that we would get Dhalsim, Zangief, Alex, Urien, Laura and Zen. Maybe Juri!
It's more likely to between Jan to March for release date. I'm still betting on Feb 2 as release date for SFV.
This game will be out March at the latest. It's going to be at EVO and they're going to give time for it to breathe when it's there. We also know nothing about story, modes, online features, and those are going to be the things that sell this to the populace at large.
A game that has been fully playable for over a year with beta tests already going will be out later than people want? Why?
May would also push it into Capcom's next fiscal year, wouldn't it? Doesn't make sense for multiple reasons.

Ken Bogard getting something wrong after an incredible track record, on the other hand... This validates the title.
