I don't think Alienous is taking issue with that particular explanation, so much as saying that Kojima put himself in a difficult situation by creating a series that feels the need to explain everything, no matter how outlandish.
The attempted rape scene is garbage.
It's a character being depowered because reasons and defending herself against being raped by conveniently getting her super powers back and super kicking and stabbing her would be rapists, then a shot of her boobs.
Like every other theme in this game it is handled with the nuance and consideration of a 9 year old.
Haha, perfect
Agreed. I like the balance in MGSV. Especially how they manage to avoid interrupting the gameplay with forced slideshows and codec calls. You still get your crazy explanations, but they're neatly organized into cassettes you can conveniently listen to on your own terms. That was the biggest problem with MGS4 but imo he struck a good balance in MGSV.
A good number of things are explained and yet at the same time there is much to discuss and speculate about.
Jeez, we've already been through this. Please don't start again.
don't quote him, try to ignore it, it is constant loop
Of course it is.
Doesn't change the fact I felt like covering my crotch a bit watching that.
Hahah yeah remember when they were about to rape her strangled corpse but she woke up and smashed that one guy's testicles
and bit off that dude's ear
and stabbed a guy in the dick like a hundred times
laff and a haff right there.

Standard protocol. Every soviet prisoner you rescue is dressed the same way....why was she wearing clothes in that scene in the first place? She certainly didn't put them on herself, and there's no way the people who captured her would've known that she breathes through her skin. So they caught her, then dressed her, then undressed her to try to rape her?

Hey, I have my complaints about the game, too, and I never told anyone to stop talking. I like a vibrant discussion with many viewpoints.Don't quote him? Why? So the thread can turn into "Neiteio-and-friends talking about how great everything is"?
He's bringing up valid points, why not discuss it?

How was that scene played for comedy? They strangled her and were about to rape what they thought was her dead body
This game is so rugged

Something else problematic about the Quiet rape scene is, even if you look at the violence in terms of, "Wow, what a strong woman defending herself like that," she still emerges from the shed with the camera zoomed in our her boobs, before zooming out as though saying, "Oh, right, right, she's a human being, she has a face."
Someone should gif that part.
Just curious, Is it ever explained in PW or MGSV why or how Benedict Kazuhira Miller becomes McDonnell Miller in MGS1? Was watching some Metal Gear Scanlon from the beginning and I was reminded that he seems to have had a different first name in MGS1.
Miller was killed before the events of MSG1 (just before) and Liquid was impersonating him.

McDonnell is probably the final name of his Hamburger chain. Kojima delivered.Just curious, Is it ever explained in PW or MGSV why or how Benedict Kazuhira Miller becomes McDonnell Miller in MGS1? He opens a chain of burger restaurants called "McDonnell's" for the free advertisement by association and gets his name changed to avoid being sued.

I don't think I'm going to finish this game. I have no desire to play these old missions again, and the only new one available to me is another shitty tank mission. The plot has evaporated. Every time I turn the game on, it tells me all my MB teams have been leveled down because some fucks kidnapped my soldiers while I was away. All of the new weapons and equipment available to research take hours to complete, and none of them are really worth it because I've had a god-tier set-up since mid-game. I've been using the same shit ever since.
I'm not disappointed, either. I got a fantastic fifty hours out of this game. Looking past all the loose threads, everything through Chapter 1 is a 10/10 game. Unfortunately, there's the rest of it.
I've done eighty side-ops and it still wants me to replay at least one old mission to trigger the next one. It's insane. You literally don't even have to replay the old missions to get to the ending.
One of the tapes mention Eli was the one who got dumped, I thought David was supposed to be the inferior clone? Or am I remembering incorrectly.
