I know about the pattern thing, lol, but I don't see Capcom revealing a non-American character at NYCC. They didn't show Gief in Russia and Rashid in Dubai on accident. I'm still hoping for Alex in NY and Urien as the boss character, though. Still would entail a playable roster of 16 and leave room for 2 new characters.

Also, Necro is pretty popular among SF3 players. Moreso than Hugo, I'd say.

After today, I don't know what to expect from Ono. He has transcended Sakurai in his unpredictability.

I was too, but I can't let my personal opinions on something get in the way of the facts. Now I know that a good chunk of my evidence that was once logically sound no longer applies. I'll take that into account going forward when it comes to my own personal predictions. Will I play Zangief myself, probably not, but I can at least be happy for those who are fans of Zangief.

That reminds me, I need to deposit my cash into the bank so I can get that TE2.

I'm fine with Zangief. Probably not as much as Alex but more so than Urien. This only cements my theory that the boss is going to be a new character.

Unless the boss is unplayable at launch, we already know the names of the last 2 newcomers.

This all due to personal feelings of said character. For example, I adore Alex's moveset, but Sim could have Alex's moveset and I'd still fucking hate him 'cause I can't stand Sim. Take Zangief for example, loads of people love the way he plays but loads of people are still unhyped as fuck that he's in. You can't say a certain character will be well recieved by everyone, even if he "looks fun to play". That logic makes no sense.

I remember watching the NYCC 2010 Marvel vs Capcom 3 panel where they revealed Spencer. The 2008 dreads Spencer. People didn't know a lot about him as a character, but the crowd was hype from his gameplay like zipping around, grapping people full screen, OTG-ing, and of course the duff hyper.

That's why I made my comment. A character in fighting games no matter how unpopular they are can be well received if their gameplay is well thought out and is interesting to the players. And, of course not every single player will have this mind of thought.

Oh goody, so can we assume it'll be the Street Fighter version of this.

Basically, a Seth with moves inspired by the movelists of SFV characters

I know it's a different company, but Goro was announced way before other MKX characters. I don't think Capcom would do the same tho

Blanka is out , because he isn't as unique as sim nor as popular as Zangief.

The best part about this reveal is the sudden explosion of Alex support.

On twitter, youtube, here, EH...the name Alex is everywhere. Makes me pretty confident that he's going to show up eventually in SF5.

I feel like the Story mode will just be empty promises. Mika's only in because Ono loves her, Gief's in because SF2, Karin's in because...Japan I guess. I'm not expecting anything other SF4 levels of story. Shame SF will never have an MK style story.

Yes because a playable sf3 character is a sin, even if they are a central character to the story of the game. We can't have them soil the holy sf2 ground.

Necalli now being a charge character pretty much killed any interest I had in the character. I'm probably gonna go for Karin or Rashid. Hopefully Laura & Zen prove to be interesting in terms of how they play. Vega also has my attention since he's no longer a charge character. There's also Rainbow Mika that I'll give a shot.

Exactly I wish they wouldn't hide behind how they really feel, I wish they'd come out and say we are retconning sf3 out of the lore since we hate it. Crapcom should just be honest about crapping on 3s so no hope is given.

Didn't Skullgirls do something similar? To be more specific, I mean the idea of having the DLC characters come with their own story that fill in the gaps in the base game's story.
