Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

Is it happening ?

The Missing Link ? The Phantom Knack.

Kojimas face is like:
I know yall want this

I'm sure Sony wants to, but are they willing to be ok allowing him on a 80m budget? Uncharted 2 cost 20m to make, and U3 was something similar I believe. Their studios are generally pretty good at making games on budget. Based on rumors, Kojima is the complete opposite. -_-

People keep talking about how expensive his games are, but MGSV is the only one that's closing in on 100m. And open-world games in general are really expensive to make. You can bet that Horizon isn't going to be cheap to make.

Couple that with the game being on what 5 platforms and having multiplayer? No wonder shit costs.

You two make good points. I did not know the game is making 100m.

If Kojima joins Sony, they should ask Valve to let him develop Half-Life 3. Druckmann and co can help out too from time to time.

The whole Kojima thing is surely weird. Wonder if he will do a next project right after he leaves Konami or if he take a break or even make a movie or an episode of The Strain.

I doubt Kojima joins Sony, but more possible would be Kojima creating new studio and Sony being publisher of their game.

Not to mention building a (quality) multiplatform, cross-generational engine from the ground up for it, which was intended to be used for all of Konami's console games from then on.

People always bring up the budget but completely ignore the context. There's zero chance Kojima's next game is anywhere near as ambitious as MGSV. It'll probably use UE4, like most current gen Japanese games, and will be something different to Metal Gear.

oh shit, this have to mean something

It's hard to tell if you guys are joking or legit crazy.

Yeah, that's what I think will happen, regardless of what publisher picks up his next game. After the mess at Konami, I doubt he's keen to jump right back into another corporate environment, especially if he has less influence than he did at Konami.

Jump in, Kojima-san

You first, Cerny-San :3

Lmao!

OT: I also agree with the other poster that maybe Sony will just act as a publisher of Kojima's next game. Won't be an exclusivity agreement and also it'll be something utterly left field that will blow our tiny brains out :)

Then again, I can see Kojima taking a 2 year sabbatical. Working under Konami's thumb for this long must have been traumatizing.

A deal like Sony has with From Software is likely.

Holy crap man! Kojima opens a new studio with Sony confirmed?

Also, what are the chances for Sony / Kojima to fund a final, closing chapter for MGSV. Haven't finished it myself but it seems like people vent about how it leaves lots of questions unanswered.

Hahahaha man, this post. I can't stop laughing.

Feeling like the first time I saw Steve Buscemi in a videogame. Couldn't stop laughing.

Slow down there, it's an old picture if you are referring to the one above.
