I should have prefaced that by saying to the shock of no one who ignores the evidence presented to them in the form of an image. I mean I was honestly amazed at how many people were in denial that it was Gief after seeing the picture of his belt. Even more amazed that people thought it was characters who don't have any such accessory on them going so far as to make up story reasons why said character would have said accessory.

Anyway, congrats Gief players but Karin fans are the real winners. :3

Funny enough, my old avatar was from a movie I didn't really like that much. I just thought it was a cool shot.
 
Hopefully Capcom will let us fully turn off the music this time instead of capping at 1 like it was in SF IV and the beta. I mean I'll be fine with it as you can easily drown it out with other music at that point but I don't like when a jam ends and you can hear the faint SF music in the background. At least we have the option though.

I'll repeat my previous sentiment: I hope that classic soundtracks are available as DLC. I could care less if it's 3S tunes just randomly shoehorned into the new stages.

This is accurate. I adopted this one after reading someone calling out posters in the Karin reveal thread for not seeing many avatars repping her despite everyone losing their collective shit over her. Love Birdie, adore the redesign, and he's likely going to be my main so here we are.

I don't think we are saying that we dislike the music necessarily, I just think if you play any game as long as I play SF the music will get repetitive.
 
Man Zangief looks fucking great. They've done a good job of transitioning characters and making even silly/humorous designs have an element of coolness to them. I love his win animation and how he shit-yells right in your ear before his suplex. I'm just generally impressed with the art design and aesthetic in this game.

Zangief is an awesome character and having both him and Mika in the game will create some awesome matchup variety. I'd rather have Zangief than Alex personally, but I'll be really sincerely bummed if Urien doesn't make the starting roster. I'm still on Team Mika though.

Another thing I've noticed and appreciate is that the backgrounds all have real depth to them, much much more than any SF4 stage.. And despite how busy they look, the characters stand out and don't get visually muddled. I was watching Max's MK videos recently and as beautiful as the graphics are in that game, the characters blend way too much into the background. Makes for a more realistic aesthetic, but fighting games should be fantastical. It's all about the characters. They should be presented like superheroes and be the most important visual element on screen.

Obviously it's fake since we know that there's only 1 veteran left (most likely a SFII character), Laura, & Zen (the 2 remaining newbies). That being said, I thought I could amuse you guys with someone clinging onto hope. Though to be fair to bifuteki, he did go into detail about Rashid before his reveal (or so I was told, correct me if I was misinformed).

I dunno anything about Bifuteki but given you quoted him here I'm assuming he's a somebody. It's possible that the dev cycle is ahead of schedule and they decided they'd be able to increase the character count from their original plan. That, or Urien is a boss and wasn't included in the 16 characters for that reason.

Realistically, I'm not expecting the two of them, but of the two I think (hope) Urien is the more likely. Nash's transformation alludes to some kind of story involvement with, and I think Mika already kind of fills Alex's role of grappler with strong normals and combos. Plus do we really need another white dude with blonde hair, honestly?

I'm gonna be amazed if all the characters are revealed before capcom cup and they still have another trick up their sleeve to fuck everything up.

I liked SFxT but I am glad it was sacrificed in its stupid experiment for monetizing mechanics.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on that. Both Ken Bogard & Capcom said 4 newcomers. And unless Zen is our Brazilian, Laura fits the Brazilian bill (at least based on her name) when it comes to the BGS reveal coming next week.

You never know... Blanka could be the Brazil reveal and Laura is an American character for the NYCC reveal. I personally don't think that's going to be the case though...

What about the name Laura leans towards Brazil? I looked up the entomology for it and I didn't find a connection to Brazil or Portugal.
