I mean this is great and all, but he's the goddamn president. He has (or at least had) power, but he's acting like some pissed grandpa at the dinner table.
Education, health care and gun control.

So, if Donald Trump becomes the Republican candidate, he surely will lose control of Congress because he is clearly a lunatic. Then can you guys finally do simething about this?
Please tell me Trump would haemorrhage voters to Clinton/Sanders?
Can we like all agree yet that angry white men in our own country are more a threat to us than any perceived foreign threat? I mean Christ look at this.

Cool, so when you vote at the next election, do you elect congress as well? What would be the chances of having a sensible conversation on amending the amendment after that?Trump would never win, barring a huge scandal or an economic meltdown.

Oh sure, it's you guys that are under attack. Right.
This wasn't a white guy in this case and nothing on that chart signifies race. What are you on about?

Is the second amendment a religious belief? You have to "believe" in it for it to be true?
Are you going to be like the other guy earlier in the thread and ask for explicit proof that most US gun violence is committed by white folk? Honestly I don't have the statistics to back it up, so lambast me for that if you like, but if you examine the history of this country, empathy and compassion are not usually exhibited by those who believe this land (and the right to guns) were made solely for them.
Being white does not cause one to behave violently any more than being black or brown does, which is to say not at all. I'm talking correlation not causation.

Man your political system is overly complex. This whole thing seems like a no brainer its utterly ridiculous that something that causes so much pain for your country cant be changed or at least put to some kind of public vote to actually put Democracy into action.Amending the second amendment is a non starter. That involves a lot more than congress. It would also involve the strong support of the states.
The best bet in regards to gun control legislation is for congress to just pass it as law and when it eventually gets to the supreme court (because you know it will) for them to declare it constitutional.
Also we do elect congress as well sort of. There are two houses of congress, the House of Representatives that has terms of two years, all of which will be reelected in 2016, but there's also the Senate which has terms of six years, so about a third will be up for election. In regards to gun control things are not looking very positive on that front however, though things can of course change.
Yup. Shared two hours after the shooting began. Is that real?
Disgusting.

The NRA, and its unconditional supporters, are scum.
ISLA VISTA, CA—In the days following a violent rampage in southern California in which a lone attacker killed seven individuals, including himself, and seriously injured over a dozen others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Tuesday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said North Carolina resident Samuel Wipper, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this guy from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what he really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past five years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”
CHARLESTON, SC—In the hours following a violent rampage in downtown Charleston in which a lone attacker killed nine individuals and seriously injured one other, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Wednesday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Oklahoma resident Kenneth Barrows, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this guy from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what he really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past five and a half years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”
ROSEBURG, OR—In the hours following a violent rampage in southwestern Oregon in which a lone attacker killed 10 individuals and seriously injured seven others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Thursday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Ohio resident Lindsay Bennett, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? I don't think the gun problem in the US is exclusive to any race. It's a problem for everyone.

For sure.
But I'm fairly certain no one put forward the idea that this was a "white problem only" or some such. Asserting that in the US more whites commit gun violence than any other race is not the same as saying it is a problem exclusive to that race.
Are they referring to the gunman or Obama?
I mean, this is your countries national embarrassment, someone needs to start some kind of movement to change things, I wouldnt feel safe living in America, there are more terrorists inside your borders than the ones you are fighting overseasIt was setup top prevent someone from consolidating all the power (basically the antithesis of the crown in England). That's also why freedom of speech and congress can't establish a religion are in the first amendment.
The problem is the two-party system has fucked everything up as the power of the govt is split between democrats and republicans.
For sure.

Are you saying this is the case per capita? I'm curious since I don't have the numbers in front of me.
Lets face it the only way for this shit to change is if the gunmen start targeting politicians and their families.
Are they referring to the gunman or Obama?
Honestly I'm really curious too. It seems like a safe assertion, but many things do. Another thing I'd be curious to see numbers on would be a socioeconomic/regional/racial breakdown of those for and againist stronger gun control laws. Again, there's lots of seemingly safe assertions, but I'd love to see the numbers. (Then I'd like to read an examination of how the numbers were collected, seeings as these things are usually pretty small in sample size.)
