There was a vagina tax. Looking at the values now.

You don't hit 950 (highest any female has) until the 24th character in HP value.

So we're at that part of the argument where we just completely ignore their playstyles for the sake of trying to argue that there's an imaginary vagina tax. It happened sooner than I expected.

Looks great and I like her hairstyle too, sorta makes up for the disappointment that was Zangief earlier today. Her eyebrows are on fleek though, now give us that trailer Capcom...

didnt he also say one of the new characters was indian? there is an indian gaming expo in november so it might be revealed there.

He didn't say the nationalities of any characters but named some regions that would be important, South Asia being one of them

You say that as if fighting games haven't balanced characters without using different health values or as if their play-styles are immutable and aren't choices made by Capcom developers. Even if you want to argue this is the optimal way to balance characters, that doesn't change the fact that the females in SF games tend to have lower health values which is all that the "vagina tax" refers to. Part of it I assume is also the sentiment that their tool sets don't often justify having health values that low but I 'd guess that would be on a more character to character evaluation.

Pretty sure that's Macklemore.

Damn, Macklemore came up from his high school days

My stance isn't that it's an optimal way to balance. It's that there's no "vagina tax" which unfairly targets female characters and only female characters. Their toolsets justify the health.

Female characters tend to have better normals than male characters, is that a penis tax?

A) I feel there is an implicit "we would like to see more diversity in female fighting game archetypes" being said when people complain about a "vagina tax". At least as far as I can see. If the only way to have higher health in a Capcom game is to be a bruiser or a more midrange character, maybe people just want more females who are bruisers or midrange characters rather than speedy, small and lithe.

B) I'm sure for some/many characters, people feel their toolset doesn't justify their low health. I mean someone just argued that Chun-Li's health was too low at one point which I think means they recognize the relationship between toolset and health but still feel Chun-Li's was too low for the toolset she has.

Maybe?

Sad for those Ono tweets

[edit] "vagina tax" is something from the mechanics of the game ? I was thinking like "need to put as many girls as possible" tax .... makes more sense.

I still think which tax Poison has ... since she has a vagina here but still has her penis on japan. Region locked buffs ?[/edit]

her jiu jitsu is shit plus ryu's submission defense is straight ass

Well SF is like MMA before Jiu Jitsu ... everyone fighting on top ... trying to get blood.

Then someone came up with some new technique and ... nobody knew how to defend from the takedowns.

SF 6 everyone will have a BJJ command grab

I didn't remember that, now I wanna punch someone :|

It is ok ... not much people remember SF3 =P

Her design is pretty passable. Hope she plays cool.

Anyway always good to see new SF faces that don't seem mangled. But I don't know if I see her becoming a classic.

You know, I'm actually kind of sad that Ono's not going to be able to hold up his Blanka toy in front of partial screenshots of electricity, and the inevitable NeoGAF posters falling for the double reverse yomi troll.

:(

What could have been.

I can't get over how good she looks. Just by looking at one screenshot I knew she'd be a new favourite of mine. I think it's the gaming equivalent of love at first sight 😍
