Famitsu "leaks" Laura for Street Fighter V

I approve of her design. Maybe not have her cornrows go all the way up to the scalp area if her head, but other than that, it's quite good

This "gender tax" is a subversive term that implies an inherent unfair gender disadvantage (like RL glass ceiling) which supercedes even competitive balancing.

It is more useful to ask if the characters are well-balanced inclusive of HP, and whether we would play female versions of Sagat/Rufus.

Her hair style trend is... not that recent if that's what they were aiming for. The shaved sides are more "in" since a few years ago.
 
She has a Juri thing going on, so I kinda love her and hate her. Although her outfit is on the boring side.
If she's as fun as Juri to play I'll take it.
 
I'm glad it's not a capoeira fighter, we have enough of those already. Not everything that comes from Brazil is capoeira, and it's pretty clear her fighting style involves grappling and submission holds which are a clear mark of BJJ. I think she's gonna be the first Brazilian jui-jitsu fighter in fighting games then? Either way, psyched, I dig her looks amd fighting style.
 
She looks very Christine Monteiro-ish (at least in terms of fighting style and everything). Cool. And the design isn't very convoluted which is nice.
 
Surprised Capcom/Famitsu didn't just throw in the towel and realease the trailer already.
Said in another thread a leak like this is pretty big and at this point comparable in a sense to the comic con stuff. Your fans have already seen so much, and you aren't going to hide it from them. Might as well just release it.

Though I understand that perhaps they can't due to contracts, marketing, and the sort.
 
Pretty boring design and I'm not a fan of the tweaked female faces, they all look less stylized and more generic from when they first announced SFV. Compared to the stylized male faces the female faces don't fit the art style as well as they used to.

Saving the trailer is the only thing they got left. Why release it now?
 
So Rashid and Laura looked mostly what I expected. What do people think Zen would will look/fight like? For whatever reason the first thing that pops into my head is he'll be similar to Lin from the KOF series.
 
Even low poly, some of the stages have style, this one too and makes me instantly think of past sf, especially II, in some kind mental image of the 16 bits era, like the maps from monster hunter too to stay within capcom.
That's why I wondered if they got the same artists.
Character design wise, I just give up at this point, there's always something off with the faces of old characters and the new ones feel random.
I feel the manga aesthetic and its sharpness is the most fitting for this serie and since IV, they're distancing from it.

He'll actually be a monster that went on a sabbatical to become a peaceful monk, and will fight by not-fighting
and he'll look suspiciously like Tekken's new hulking brute character

I didn't really have expectations for Rashid or Laura. Zen I expect to look like Tung Fu Rue from Fatal Fury. Not really sure why people think he'll be the boss with that name.
