Like I said, I'm sold on the design overall, except for how they decided to portray her chest sans bra. And in general, I agree with you. I like Street Fighters cast of female fighters. They've been generally great.

Interesting, seems a lot more like a typical brazilian meal than I imagined. For some reason, I always had the idea that "x place food" was something that people who are actually from x place only eat in special occasions, or at least rarely.

The announcement of SFV was the last time a leak happened that upset Ono. That's when they added additional content to the announcement to make up for it. The short footage of Ryu and Chun fighting wasn't originally going to happen at PSX. So maybe they'll add something more to the Laura announcement. Perhaps an announcement of a mode? They haven't really discussed any thing in terms of modes so far.

Are you Brazilian? I kind of understand what you mean. I'm Filipinio and I always find it a little odd when I go into a Filipino grocery store and see people eat regular food from their kitchen...but sometimes you just get a craving for someone else's version.

Sometimes leaks are exciting, but I feel bad for people like Ono that make these reveals fun (and, yes, a little light-hearted trolling doesn't hurt) only to have them mucked up by leaks.

I really just think you're looking too hard into this. How a character looks only tells one part of their story. For all we know Laura could be an engineer or skilled surgeon, or a humanitarian, etc. Probably a very smart woman, too. A lot of stuff you just described, can also apply directly to Juri. In fact I'd say they're more applicable there and Juri's Korean. So no I don't see this as an intentional stereotyping on Capcom's part.
And I mean, people like sexy. Laura is sexy. Even if being a sex symbol is a stereotype, there's a positive and negative way to portray that. I think Laura would be a positive portrayal of such, and more an unintentional (in that she doesn't even have to try) one, not a desperate attempt.
I mean, it's possible to look at Balrog as a negative stereotype, I'm sure some do. But to me, he's a carictature of Mike Tyson, not African Americans. And he rolls with a bunch of villainous bad guys, he's not meant to be a saint. Which is partly why I'm always kind of put off when people say he can't come back b/c he's a "stereotype" or is offensive, without discerning to what degree that is, or if the portrayal is malicious or not etc. I simply prefer Dudley's boxing style and that's why I'd take him over Balrog, myself.
Lastly,..where is the fuss over Zangief? Everyone's talking about Laura showing too much skin, when there's an almost-naked 7-foot Russian walking around with a stuffed crotch. I'm sure some people will take that as nice eye candy, so it doesn't hurt if Laura provides a little eye-candy too, especially if it's mostly logical and nothing extreme. We aren't in Mika territory here lol.

I already covered the realism aspect in one of my earlier comments ...
It's Street Fighter, it's not supposed to be realistic... But that doesn't mean Capcom can't be smart about how it chooses to portray it's female characters.
