Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Reading this thread makes meHad RB1, RB2 and RB3 on 360 (with a load of DLC) but have a PS4 now... so I lose access to my guitar and all the songs I had if I buy this version.
I know I could re-buy the stuff I had if/when they make it available but that would cost too much, as would buying an Xbox One just for one game.
That's why I bought both consoles! Even though I'm not a huge fan of the xbox one due to its slow UI(This is going to be fixed thank heavens!) I knew that rock band would get one last push and was holding hope for legacy DLC.....it fucking payed off.
Plus Forza Horizon 2.....XD

Weird DLC region question.
I have a PAL copy of RB3, so I bought my DLC through the UK PSN store.
If I want that to carry over to RB4, I guess I need a PAL copy of RB4?
On top of that, if I buy the RB1 export key, and beg to EA for RB2 export key (I have a US copy), I also need to get their PAL variant, I guess?

This is why I bought an Xbox one. Rebuying all my dlc+ exports not including losing some exports and delisted songs would have cost just as much on ps4 as it would have been buying an Xbox oneReading this thread makes me

I really, really, really hope this isn't the case. I hated how RB3 would default to premades every time someone dropped out, but at least I could restore my band at any time. It's a big part of the experience for me to have my own band.

Are you kidding me? Tell me again why the most hardcore Rock Band players should be upgrading? Can't use my IONs yet, lose access to my RB3 songs. Lose access to my RBN songs. Lose access to many useful features. Now my exports aren't there at launch?
Damn man. I'm excited to play but I really hope this isn't real.
I only had a few minutes before work to try downloading, but on my Xbox One I had the same problem with Little Wing. All the other Hendrix songs showed free, but Little Wing is not (yet). Happy to see this isn't just me.

It really seems like you can't use custom characters for anything other than your main. You can't even assign other customs to other players, since they need separate accounts.

Yeah, that's pretty awful and just plain lazy on their part. I was looking forward to having a full band too. Not to mention their random created characters look so ridiculous.
I'd say maybe they'll patch it in but you know they won't.

For folks having issues with downloads or entitlement issues, if you wanted to make shared Google spreadsheet to track that stuff, it may be helpful for the team here. Some of the stuff we are aware of (i.e. packs showing as purchased, but users being asked to spend money) and are working through it.
There may be per-song issues we are trying to identify. Lots of stuff going on!

There might be songs tied to other songs cus Baba O'Riley was free for me to download but I just checked and I don't own that but I do own other The Who songs
Uuuh uh, tell us more... I'm fairly sure RB3 was the only Rock Band that let us set permanent members to our bands. I'm willing to be they will add it in. They want to get a core game out there that they can update. They have been very upfront about that so why you think they wont update it is beyond me.
First thing that has managed to annoy me about this launch.

God the filtering on the Xbox One marketplace is atrocious. On PSN you can just filter it down to content that's free. Do we really have to sift through this entire list? Good lord Microsoft, get your shit together.

Out of curiosity, are you trying to download the pack itself? I found that I'm not able to download the pack without being asked to purchase, but I was able to download all of the individual songs that are part of the Doors pack. The same thing happened with the Hendrix packs - the packs aren't showing free, but all the songs (save Little Wing <known issue>) were free. (Xbox One - US)

Yep. Cant download them individually. My assumption is that I got it when it had that sale promo when RB3 came out. You got a 3 pack for free, and you paid for the rest for a cheaper price. That's what's probably causing me and others from not being able to get it.

Yeah it seems if you bought the Doors pack when it was split in two the store has trouble recognizing that, I bought it when it went on sale a few months back and I was able to download the songs just fine.

I bet that's a US thing again? There's literally nothing RB related in my EU PS Store on PS4...
Now I'm glad they didn't let me preorder digitally so I can wait a month or whatever until they have sorted all this shit (exports...) out and maybe patched in missing features etc. (oh wait, 8th December is the earliest we can expect any improvements....)

So delisted songs aren't getting the upgrade right? Going through my list and Smooth Criminal is the first song not to show up on the Xbox One store.

The lack of exports at launch and not being able to customize the entire band, I mean, one of my favourite things to do was to recreate my friends who I play in a band with.
Then there's the export issues, not available by launch? Well then, I can wait until mid-2016 to see if your shit is sorted out, HMX, and it hurts to say this, since I'm a RB fanboy, but I'm out at the moment.

If you're trying to use that code to export RB2 to RB3, no, it doesn't, because the RB2 export offer has expired.
If you're talking about moving the 20 bonus songs to RB4, you'll have those by having redeemed that code originally.

Just manually went through the Xbox marketplace game search, and manually clicked install for every single I own. Only one that wasn't up on the store was "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" (which also wasn't in Fall Out Boy Pack 01, despite the description listing it and charging for three songs when only two are technically in the pack).
Also, exports are now being delayed until post-launch? Am I hearing this right? As somebody who literally just purchased Rock Band Blitz for the purpose of exporting those tracks, that's a real kick in the balls.

They weren't really delayed, because they were never promised for launch. In the run-up, they were always very cautious to say things like "You'll be able to redownload your tracks as they come available", and have been using language to suggest that the old songs wouldn't all be present at launch.
Of course, by not outright saying that, they led people on to think they would be there, creating this push-back when they failed to deliver on what people thought they had been promised.
