Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I'm actually glad that we found out early that it wasn't Blanka. We've already seen enough roster discussion turn into a cesspool after R.Mika's reveal.

Man, this "1 new 2 returning" thing is so confusing....Matt Dahlgren said more than once we would have four new characters in the launch roster, could they change it now?!

Subbed. I hope we get laura trailer this week.

We will, that's for sure

I still think it's Zen+1 SF series character+Laura that's left to officially reveal.

If it IS 1 new comer (Laura) and 2 SF series characters, then maybe they had some development setbacks that didn't allow them to have Zen ready in time for launch? Like they're reworking him to make balanced etc..

Where is Guile?

In the grave.

Edit: Ono still trying his best. http://p.twipple.jp/kQI48

Everything you know is wrong indeed

1 new and 2 returning what the hell

Now, lets about character that have very little to return (apparently of course).

Evil ryu I believe is gone. Bison victory quote to Ryu was "you are a fool to suppress Satsui no Hado" or something.

C.Viper trademark move is now with Necali, so I think she is gone too.

Edit: ^^^^ man, I do feel bad about Ono. I think he was planing this troll for a while

It's not just R. Mika. It's any woman character in general. The character's actual look is almost secondary to the argument that people are waiting to get into. It's just differently designed triggers to fire the starting pistol on it. At which point everyone dives into that pool:

Disingenuous arguments about male sexuality
Overstated accusations of ingrained sexism
Hyperbolic wolf-whistling at digital cleavage

So on and so forth.

The R. Mika reveal kinda crystallized it, though, I'll say that. But it's been happening since Chun was first shown in the announcement trailer, and has been building since.

It's interesting, because that particular discussion has had the effect of making the arguments over playstyle/favorites seem almost welcoming and quaint in comparison.

Would people rather have Urien or Alex?
If not both

If we could only have one (but know the other was coming), then it'd be Urien. Alex would be great but Urien is just so damn good in both character and gameplay. Alex is a damn close second though.

Indeed. I actually welcome arguments about whether or not a character is just lame because they've somehow managed to be more tame by comparison. I never thought I'd feel that way, but debates about female character design have always been noxious even by video game community standards. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. -_-
