NFL 2015 Week 4 |OT| - A Fraud Loses His Roar

I feel so hopeless after last night's game. Reading reports dunbar tore his mcl or acl. This season has been so bad injury wise. Players just can't stay healthy. Every week just gets worse. Second half offense has been so bad.

a steelers fan ignoring facts. expected.
:lol

Coming from a Pats fan? The same fanbase that is in severe denial about their team being caught cheating yet again?

"Yo in New England we call fat people deflators because they want to lose weight or something!"

:lol :lol :lol

i don't know what you're talking about

I can't be the only Miami Dolphins fan spending the day at work refreshing PFT (or similar) every 10 minutes for news of Philbin's firing, can I?

What's sad is that me and my brother had a good chat about widespread preseason delusions in the media way back when.
Oh how we laughed at the idea that trading for Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray was a good idea, or that the Eagles should be favourites for the NFC East.
And we laughed at the idea that Luck was a proper MVP candidate, or the Colts were Super Bowl contenders.
And we laughed at the idea that losing Jordy Nelson might affect Rodgers and the Packers in the slightest.
And we laughed at the idea that the Dolphins would make the playoffs.

Oh wait, he laughed at that last one. I bought in fully. When you're a fan those preseason delusions hit you hard. You can't properly judge your own team. It keeps happening to me, season after season. I have a good handle on every team but my own.

If I wasn't sitting 40-20 against the spread and 4-0 in fantasy this would be a lost season for me. Thank god for all the extraneous bullshit that surrounds football these days.
I totally bought in this preseason. I felt like this team had the most talent on a Dolphins roster in at least 10 years. I thought Tannehill would keep progressing and the defense would step up and become a top 10 unit. I try to be a fan that dwells in the realm of realism but in hindsight it's incredible how overly optimistic I was.

The only consolation for me is that all hope is dead and buried. The losses don't hurt as badly when they're expected.

It's like a domino effect. Players get hurt, healthy players get more snaps in game and in practice. Increased workload leads to more injuries and so on. Not much can be done besides monitoring workload, which the Cowboys are already doing.

Suh has to be incredibly happy that Dolphin fans are giving up and he gets to pick up his giant ass check for the rest of the year without actually doing anything. Once the tears dry most people are focusing on Philbin with maybe a few wondering if they should look to replace Tannehill. No one is talking about Suh. Not even Lion fans. And he gets to just sit back and cash those checks...

His agent earned every fucking penny.

For the record I think Polamalu was a great talent. Just paying homage to, in my opinion, some of the best times on NFL GAF. No offense to the newer crop of posters either but things get...weird here on occasion.

Anyway.

Yeah.

...but.

All hope is not actually gone quite yet. If we fire Philbin we have a very manageable schedule ahead of us that is nothing near as hard as it appeared before the season. A good coach could come in and get us to 9 or 10 wins here, honestly. That won't happen, but it's not completely insane.

We won't do that though. I'm worried we won't even fire Philbin. If we don't we'll lose the next 5, before winning just enough against tanking teams so as not to have a top-10 pick.

I genuinely believe Philbin is 80% of the problem with our team, though. If we could just solve that...

It's impossible to judge Suh or anyone else with the clown show Coyle is running right now. I'm not going to throw him under the bus after 4 games. Our DLine played like this during the second half of last year. Suh comes in and plays like the other guys. Seems like the consistent element is Coyle, not Suh.

I don't know what to think about Suh. On the one hand his personality is very driven and self-motivated so it's hard for me to picture him pulling a Haynesworth. On the other hand he flat out quit on some plays yesterday.

Playcalling is atrocious. If they don't trust Weeden to throw longer than 5 yards then put someone else in there. The offense is killing the whole team, especially the defense. So many 3 and outs.

Anyway.
And just so there are no hard feelings I also think that looking back, Raji was always a very obese football player who occasionally could push things, but not often enough to make a difference most of the times.

I am sure people will remember him fondly in Green Bay for a long time.

It was kind of funny though when Hyde pushed his fat ass into the ground in the first half though.

Don't do this.. This is going to enter Kas levels of delusion. Just don't. Learn from your browns fans and just accept the sadness and learn the mantra, there's always next year.

good coaches don't grow on trees, and good coaches that join a team mid-season and bring a team from 1-3 to 10-6 or 11-5 don't exist. good luck phinbros!

The one week where Bortles decides to play decent, the Jaguars kicker flubs two kicks.

Jaguars should have won that game....

Let it go, man. This season is a wash. All we can hope for now is a clean sweep of the FO instead of another worthless half measure, aka a "Ross Special."

They are rebuilding now. Saints have a ton of rookies starting. It shows with poor on the field performance this year but some are showing promise and they should be a lot better next year with a season of learning behind them.

You are right in that the window is closed for Brees, so the Saints now have to enter the QB draft lottery probably this offseason and pray for the best while paying Brees 20+ million a year to not make the playoffs.

And the Pats and Steelers didn't reload. They were competitive always. They deserve a ton of credit for that because it is the hardest thing to do (much harder than blowing up a team and doing a rebuild) but they didn't destroy the team and go into rebuild mode like you are saying.

I don't want to be lazy, but I was going to basically type up a very similar post. If they hit on draft picks regularly when Brees was still a very good QB, then they wouldn't be in this hole, but they missed and now find themselves with young raw talent around an aging Brees. This happens more often than not.

When you're successful your scouts/FO get raided, there's a drop off, so not only do have to replenish on field talent but you have to get fresh talent in the back of the house. That's why Ozzie Newsome is one of the fucking best.

Coughlin owned the interception (and really it was all Eli for a bad throw) during the teams victory speech in the locker room. He basically said "The interception is on me...we were trying to put the dagger in and seal the game"....

I mean I get it but in that situation, you run the ball and take the points. Three scores up and the dagger is in regardless. I like the aggressiveness more often than not but that's one of those moments you don't get cute. Situational football FTW. On the other side of the coin - your two time Super Bowl MVP needs to know not to make that dumb throw.

Yeah, knocking a minute and a half off the clock and "settling" for the field goal IS the dagger there. Instead those 3 plays only took 15 seconds (Jennings was equally stupid to take that first down rush out of bounds inexplicably) and they turned the ball over.

The number of times late in games that the Giants would be better off simply kneeling the ball every play just in order to avoid their own stupidity is alarming.

I apologize if I offended you and will now preface all of my statements about the Pats by saying that the vast and overwhelmingly majority of Pats fans are in denial about their team being a bunch of dirty cheats.

I don't have evidence of any normal Patriot fans who you would ever want to have in your house, but I think it is safe to assume that at least one must exist somewhere.

Well, yeah, this is true.

Which is why this is true.

BUT if we could just fluke our way into a good coach... Fuck it I'd take Sparano back. I find his fist pumps endearing after enduring Philbin's 'queasy' thousand yard stare for 4 years.

Reminds me of Ron Wolf's tree.

I was trying to be nice but you actually lived in Boston so I will have to take you at your word.

Honestly their reaction has been incredibly embarrassing but no one in the lamestream media has really taken the time to take the dump on Boston sports that they deserve.

Wat.

As much I give shit to Watt at least he legitimately seems to try despite being on the worst team in football. Suh doesn't give a shit and that's always been obvious.
My opinion of him changed a lot when I started reading articles about him and listening to interviews. You could just argue he's pooling the wool over my eyes but I think he's a hell of a worker and doesn't get enough credit for it.

Don't worry, you probably have pictures of Michael Jordan all over your house and we all know black people are Bostonian repellant, none would accept your invitation anyway.

I can't call myself a Pats supporter as I haven't been to game, but I have followed them since 2007. The Pats that year were the team that got me into liking NFL for the first time. I do believe Pats have cheated and do think Brady was luckly to escape a ban. I also believe many other teams have cheated but haven't been caught. I just try and forget about the cheating and enjoy the game.

Oh boy Saints at Eagles this week. The Eagles haunted offense led by Sam Bradford and Demarco Murray taking on Drew Brees and company. The irresistible force meets the immovable object. Get HYPE!

More like the stoppable force meets the movable object. I'll let you decide which one we are.

They are so hit or miss they come out great in the first half but after half time it just all falls apart on both sides of the ball. I wonder if cassel will get some snaps next week against the pats. McClain and Hardy will finally play and I'm crossing my fingers Lee won't have to sit next week out.

He's always been trying despite the shittiness. Everyone around town knows that. I don't get why some people think he doesn't work hard when times are bad.

#ColtsCulture J/K It was some Colts employee that was being awful.
