NFL 2015 Week 4 |OT| - A Fraud Loses His Roar

I'm thinking Tannehill gets canned at the end of the year as well. Some of that contract money can be salvaged the way they arranged it.

A year after that deal? Nah breh. Folks are learning that teams aren't giving up QBs as long as they're semi competent or have talent. Detroit will be in the same boat next year when we giving Stafford's bum ass a huge extension...

It seems so out of character for him. He's always been one of those guys who doesn't say anything negative and just does his job. It's a real shame if it's true.

Yeah which is why I'm hesitant to just accept it,

I definitely think he'll return to the NFL but it'll be 3-5 years. Michigan has started better than anyone could expect this year but I still don't think this is going to be the quick fix folks expect. Will Harbaugh settle for constantly coming in second or third behind a blatantly cheating OSU, and MSU? Some years he'll be ahead of MSU but I just don't see OSU falling until the NCAA drops the hammer.

If he does accept it we got a perfect spot here in Miami!

Totally happy we got rid of brindza. It's like we literally are paying someone to do something a vacant spot would just just as efficiently

Not sure about that, i think they'd be on the hook for some $21mil (2015 + 2016) if they released him at the end of this year. If they wait until the end of 2016, they're on the hook for just $6mil.

That said, I don't think they'll release him. After game 1, I don't think Tannehill has been the problem here. There's been really bad playcalling. The Dolphin's late game 0 - 8 at the goal line this past Sunday, and another 0 - 8 at the goal line the week before was terrible playcalling, using fades and cross body passes. I think Tannehill went something like 0 - 9, one interception, when throwing past the line of scrimmage when starting first and goal within the 5. I could be wrong, but having Tannehill as my fantasy QB and generally believing in Miami's offense before the year, I've followed him pretty closely for a non-Dolphins fan.

I have no idea how Philbin survived the bullying thing in the first place. That alone showed how inept and incompetent he was, and it's not like he was winning 13-14 games a year aside from that. They should have cut ties years ago.

not according to eznark apparently.

If you're going to fire your coach after 4 games, why not just fire him the year before so a new coach can come in before the season?

Anyone that seriously thinks a QB change will do anything for Miami right now is nuts. Its a conversation that might actually worth having when the coaches change and the defense stops giving up over 400+ yards to the Jets and Bills.

I would have kept Incognito too. The one problem guy took care of himself by going home. Situation solved.

I only wanted to keep Philbin because I didn't want Tannehill to learn a new system. Turns out Tannehill stinks so whatever.

The miss from 29 meant he had to be cut -- you can't have a 2-minute drill that is executed so well by a rookie be rewarded with nothing. It's back-breaking. The other misses just solidified what was already evident.

One of the few times I'll agree with eznark. I really want to believe guys, I really do. But Tannehill can't make wide open passes. Are you hearing me? I get it. The OL is bad, our receivers are not physical enough, but I can grab a ton of highlights just from this year where a guy was open and Tannehill either threw behind him, at his feet or completely missed the target wit no pressure. I mean sure, draft a QB next year if there's one, but Tannehill is not the long term solution.

Shanahan only been with us for 4 games and you vultres are already talking about grabbing him for your teams. Keep yall grubby teams away from my Kyle!

Fourth year in the league and his int% is way up, his TD% is down, completion % is a mockery of the position, ANY/A is down a full yard...

and it's not like he is playing amazing defenses. Yes the Bills D is good. That's it. Washington, Jacksonville and the Jets are middle of the road at best defensively this year and Tannehill is playing awfully.

And I'm not even counting his stats against the practice squad.

I listed to the whole conference of our new coach. He's a meathead, maybe that is what we need. He is totally in over his head, probably knows little of running the entire offense or defense. Clearly he wants practice to be more intense, it's all he talked about.

At the very least this guy is good for some entertaining sound bites.

Look at the support he's had from his o-line, running game, and defense. Aaron Rodgers is probably the only guy who could "succeed" with what the Dolphins have shown this year.

These were all the same excuses that were made for Culpepper, Fiedler, Ray Lucas and Matt Moore at the beginning.

Pennington is the best we've had since Marino, and maybe Trent Green to an extent.

Who gives a shit about counting stats? He's averaging under 5 yards per attempt.

If you need a good offensive line, running game, defense and head coach to be better than 1-3, you probably aren't an elite quarterback.

Fantomex, I love you brother, but this is bullshit. Go look up stats on Miami's running game during any of those seasons and compare them to what we have going on this year. Do the same with defensive stats if you wish. Tannehill is expected to come from behind every game with zero pass blocking and zero running game. He's made his fair share of mistakes but he is being sent out like a lamb to the slaughter against teams with good d-lines like the Jets and Bills.

I'm not making excuses for him, I'm calling it like I see it.

Andy Dalton is playing at a top 5 level this year and I wouldn't call him elite.

And maybe not all of those things, but how about ONE of them? Is that too much to ask?

where are these stats from? i see him at 7 tds/5 picks at a 56.7 completion %.

does this take drops out of his completion %?

I'm not sure, Ian tracks this for all QBs you'd have to ask him.

In attempts? Cause he is missing everyone.

Well you said he only throws for 10 yards....so yeah attempts. And he's still accurate on deep balls at least better then people give him credit for.

Texted #Dolphins player ... said he was unaware of any rift between Ryan Tannehill & practice squad guys. Said players love Dan Campbell.

Hmmmmm

Yet you are ready to anoint a guy who is playing at a bottom 10 level elite.

Tannehill is playing like a bottom 10 QB?

If you wanna bring up stats, Tannehill had a 93.5 passer rating with 64.7% completion rating in the first game and a 108.0 passer rating with a 68.2% completion in his second game. And he's passed 1000 yards on the season already after 4 games. And he's already been sacked 10 times in the season. He's an accurate QB.

But you know, dude has 2 bad games and people are have to hit the panic button lol.

I wouldn't even say he played "bad", no oline and we fall behind right out of the gate, don't even pretend to establish the run, teams are just teeing off on Tannehill, he's been hit/sacked more than any other QB since he came into the league. But no he's the Dolphins problem and it's time to move on apparently.
