Transformers Devastation (Platinum Games) boss videos on Facebook

Rising in Disguise is the best. It sounds cool and references a classic tagline as well as what the game is actually like. Devastation is pretty much the opposite of Michael Bay's stuff, aesthetically, and that's a big part of its appeal.

Why did Activision fund and publish a G1 Transformers game from Platinum in 2015

Probably because while their games don't sell, Platinum's titles are highly regarded in reviews. it gives the niche gamers something to sink their teeth into, while improving their PR at the same time. We all know that Platinum's games don't sell, so if Activision will keep funding them, I'm all for it.

Because much like Darth Vader, there is still good in them.

Nah, whenever Bobby Kotick threw down the change from his wallet Robert Conkey quickly picked it up and ran off cackling knowing Platinum Games could budget a decent action game with the money.

Michael Bayonetta is fucking dreadful and should be ignored at all costs. NO MICHAEL BAY REFERENCES PLEASE.

This is G1 and this is my childhood damnit, you're not gonna fuckin mix it with that bastards films or acknowledge the prick in any shape or form.

Stan Bush reference - allowed
Transformers The Movie reference - allowed
G1 Cartoon reference - allowed

Michael Bay or his films - GET TEE FUCK!

Can we make a Beast Wars reference? :P

The Activision publishing side that isn't Destiny, COD, or Blizzard stuff is probably completely different. They likely don't operate on that big of a budget and occassionally Kotick pops in and says "alright pack it up we're done here!" (Tony Hawk).

And anything that gives Activision more reason to make better games out of their licenses, instead of more shovelware, is always a good thing.

Again, I can only hope that it'll be the TMNT's turn one day to get the "Platinum Touch".

IIRC, Activision made a beeline for Platinum the moment they found out that they were available to work on Korra.

I don't mind this working relationship, though. It reminds me of the days where you had Capcom, Konami and Sega working on all kinds of great licensed properties. One can only hope this leads to a TMNT game next.

[OT] Oh shit! What are we gonna do now?!

Naw, that sucks. I was trying to think of some way to alter "Bah Weep Gra Nah Weep Ninny Bon," earlier but I couldn't think of anything so I gave up.

I have cautious optimusm that the OT will be pretty rodimus
Whining as much as Luke Skywalker?

Dammit, I wanted Rocksteady to handle the TMNT game as I think they would do a better TMNT than Platinum would and I love Platinum.

Yea, I said it.

Still Transformers Devastation, day one

So played the game for a little over an hour, you need to keep an eye open as enemies will attack you as you assault them.

Only gripe I have with controls so far is lack of a lock on for melee attacks and that Transforming is done by holding the dodge button. There's an interact button that would've prob. been better suited for transforming IMO, or they shouldve done it like the Cybertron games where clicking the stick transformed.

So far been having a blast, if you liked MG Rising you'll enjoy this, also don't be bothered by the stages and areas, just enjoy the Decipti-chopping and give it a while to unlock Grimlock.

Oh and parries are unlocked via the store, I think it's towards+attack? Gonna need to test it :X

I was with you until the bolded...what does that even mean lol?
How is the environment variety? The only areas I've seen are the same city ones
Very low. There are basically 2. The human cities couple blocks which you start in, then you leave
Cybertron
than back to earth or nearby.

That's not a Michael Bay reference....

It's just the subtitle for an official thread, not what defines the game. And I thought these were supposed to be kind of funny/clever.

Yeah, this is sounding more like a rental the more I learn of it. Comparisons to metal gear rising and repetitive environments are not things I want to hear

I guess that the game doesn't have much in the way of level variety?

Yeah that I guess, you do spend an hour in the city area, it does look like they put most of the work into the combat and gameplay which is fine for me, it took some fights to get the combat down but afterwards, I'm predicting attacks and Witch Timing them like a Prime.

Thanks for the impressions, I had a blast with rising so I'm sure this will be great. I think I'll go pick it up tomorrow. :)
