NeoGAF OCTOBER 2015 Pick-Up Post!! Show Us Your Gaming Goods & MORE!

Picked up both Ultron steels. Hopefully the special features is better than the first movie.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood finally came up cheap enough for me to bite. As for The Phantom Pain, that's actually just the steelbook for now - I'll certainly be getting the game before too long, but I had the opportunity to get the steelbook at a good price.

where did you get that steelbook? I want one but seems the only place in EU that sold it alone didn't shipped to US

I would have gotten that game on release if I could just buy that edition

Target had an instore coupon for 15% off any Xbox. They had an online deal for a free NBA2k16 with the purchase of any Xbox. I got them to match that in store. So I got the Forza console + NBA2k16 for $340. :D

It was a private sale rather than being from a retailer, so effectively second-hand, but still sealed. The original purchase will have been from VideoGameBox, though, I believe: http://www.videogamebox.co.uk/Metal-Gear-Solid-V-The-Phantom-Pain-p/160365465.htm VGB don't publish a list of counties that they'll ship to, but advise that:

Do you ship to my country?

Please create an account by clicking the "My Account / Order Status" link at the top right hand side of our site. During signup we'll ask for your shipping address details including country. If your country is not in the dropdown menu of available countries, unfortunately we cannot ship to your country at this time. However, 95% of world is covered.

Checking my account on their site, I have the option to add a US shipping address, so hopefully that'll work for you.

Got Disgaea 5 today, then I realized when I ordered it I though I would have a PS4 by now, and I can't play it.

Samsung SE360 24" monitor.

This thing is super pretty, even when it's not on. Probably can't tell with my crappy picture, so here's a stock one too:

It's the first time I've owned a monitor that wasn't a hand-me-down, and I couldn't be more pleased.

It does have a couple weird quirks though. For one it doesn't have a proper power button, so you have to open the menu to shut it off. No big deal.

The response time is also odd. The first thing I did with it was poke through the menus and change stuff. There was an option for response time, so naturally I set it to fastest. For some reason, I was getting ghosting, and when I set it to "normal" the ghosting went away.

And lastly there is glowing behind the screen or something. It's just a little spot down toward the corner of the screen, and you can only see it when there's something dark over it, but it's a little annoying. I've heard it's fairly common with this screen type of Samsung's though, so meh. A little bothersome, but 99% of the time it's not there.

So I guess technically I could be more pleased, but I'm almost entirely happy with the monitor. Those issues aside, it's a fantastic monitor, and being able to run 4k with downsampling is a nice cherry on top.

Buffy's head is too heavy which makes her fall over quite easily, so that's a bit disappointing.
Still a cool Funko, though.

Glad I bought the Library Edition, will buy the others from S08 at *sometime*. It's a beautiful book. It's pretty tough resisting starting to read it. Gotta finish watching Angel first, though. Just five more episodes.

And then it's over... :(

Cheap and nice little special edition. The box has a really high quality feel to it and the art book is nice I guess. One of the biggest crimes though is the sticker which was placed right on the Steelbook. It was quite hard to get it off. Not as bad as what Sony did with the DriveClub steel but still unnecessary and annoying!
Anyway, I'm happy to replay UC1, experiencing UC2 for the first time and finishing UC3. :P

Oh you poor thing. :(
I envy you getting to experience the final run of Angel episodes fresh.

Let's go to work.

-Rock Band 4 Band-in-a-Box Bundle (Xbox One)

I've gotten all four main Rock Band games and The Beatles: Rock Band on release day. I got Lego Rock Band and Green Day: Rock Band a bit after release, though.

Damn, son. Nice TV. How are you liking the OLED screen?

In all honesty I was spoiled by owning both a 500M and a 65" ZT60 (still have them, one in office other in bedroom), and I have wanted 4k for awhile. So I tried the X900B, and the AX800U, the AX800U being a better fit for me out of those 2, but there was something always missing, a real wide viewing angle, and black level.

OLED is it. it really is the only viable upgrade if you crave that contrast and black levels with wide viewing angles. If you owned a high end plasma, and if you want an upgrade to something better, you have only 3 choices...

Keep your existing plasma, or get an OLED, 3rd option...get an OLED.

And I played the HDR 4k clip of Exodus...damn. I wish everything was HDR now

Persona 4 DAN Advanced CD Collector's Edition soundtrack.
Disc 3 long mix is lame. They're just extended filler music at the start or end. :/ Not bad if you want to beatmatch I guess.

I actually think that the Advanced CD is much better than the 2-Disc OST, but it's more due to enjoying the longer versions of the tracks as well as the fact that it does have the DLC songs (minus Miku's Heaven ATOLS Mix) and Heartbeat, Heartbreak (Cloudy Step Mix).

Then again, I bought the Advanced CD separately while I got the 2-Disc OST with my Premium Crazy Box (and another copy with the Disco Fever set as well).

Bought the Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection Collector's edition mostly for the steelbook, everything else in it was underwhelming.

But the steelbook is pretty nice. It's the nicest one I own.

Oh glorious day! The October game flood has begun!

Edit: Also sharing some late September pickups - the Dragon Age book is fantastic, absolutely packed with lore.

Few pick ups this month, i'm a fan of the console specials from Retro Gamer, not as nostalgic about PSX as I am about the NES and SNES (the two other specials - double sided with Sega machines) but it's a great read
