Is it common to make big multi-topping sandwiches in the US?

I like how Euros don't think we have butter.

Don't worry guys, we got butter.

We really need to adopt some region neutral terms for food differences, similar to how we call the Street Fighter bosses Dictator / Boxer / Claw.

I assume that you would have more butter and more cheese on a grilled cheese sandwich, because otherwise it would be pretty dry and probably stick to the frying pan. At least I would (and do).

Doesn't take much. Most bread won't even stick without fat, it just becomes a very dry toast.

As far as cheese, no compared to what you posted, if I was making a grilled cheese (which is rare) there would likely be a little less.

Every friend I've hosted from Europe has had their mind blown by your average large grocery store. Costco is even more of a trip. Yeah, america has terrible processed cheese and crappy white bread, but you've also got great baked bread and a deli to order from usually. Freedom.

Here we go again!

Well that actually does sound gross.

If there's not more butter or more cheese then I retract my statement. I still prefer a non-grilled cheese sandwich though.

WHAT?????? NO!

BACON, EGG, AND CHEESE ON A ROLL IS AN AMERICAN STAPLE.

Swedes have no idea of the greatness of the meat, egg, and cheese sandwich.

I'm Swedish, not Euro, and that's not a Swedish cold section, ours are typically huge because we eat enormous amounts of dairy products.

Are cold sections becoming the new GAF penis?

An omelet or some other type of egg dish HAS to have cheese. How is this a weird thing?

An omelet doesn't have to have cheese, there are many different kinds of omelet. You can simply mash some egg and spices and it's still an omelet. But yes you're right, egg and cheese is delicious. I was just picturing a fried egg with a slice of cheese on top, which seemed super weird.

Cheese on your eggs? What?

yeah, here's how you make that sadness into a meal. You scramble your eggs and sprinkle cheese on them as you cook them. Then you toast that bread and put some butter on it. Now that's living well.

I know that pic is huge but idgaf OP needs to see the life he's missing

I gotcha.

I didn't post in the thread earlier because I was in class but this thread is absolutely hilarious. The OP's toasted bread with cheese that he trys to pass off as a sandwich had me giggling like a madman. "Struggle bread" LOOOOOOOLLLL

I need to lie down. I can't fathom something I recognize as so commonplace in NYC and all over the North East not being an US staple.

You have no idea my shock and horror when I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich in Maryland and got it served on toasted white bread.

check this out my man - it ain't even toasted.

I mean Sweden doesn't really have much of a culinary culture compared to southern Europe but god damn we make awesome breakfast sandwiches. What about a korvsmörgås? Uncooked Falu sausage on a sandwich (ie bread with butter). Like sex in your mouth. And no this is not a troll post. It is that good. Someone asked about my ideal sandwich and here it is.

No way is it only a northeast thing. I've seen it all over.

Well, did you ask for it on a roll? You have to empathize the "roll" part.

Quite popular in the UK as well. Also baked beans with a poached egg and cheese sprinkled on it on a piece of toast.

Initially when I heard of this a few years ago, as an American who's only consumed scrambled eggs my whole life, this sounded disgusting. But now that my food palette has opened up a lot more and I've been more willing to try new things, this actually sounds pretty damn good!

My mouth is seriously watering after posting that picture. We have no Falu sausage sadly but I'll be buying some tomorrow I think...

"Falukorv is a Swedish sausage (korv in Swedish) made of a grated mixture of smoked pork and beef or horse meat"

Also meat + bread is not a sandwich. That is something prisoners make from the cantina when they are out of processed cheese

So, bologna on wonder bread?

All the fucking Reubens posted though, that's not breakfast for you guys, right? The stuff your lolling at is literally the Swedish equivalent of a Croissant or something.

I need to lie down. I can't fathom something I recognize as so commonplace in NYC and all over the North East not being an US staple.

In Texas, we do breakfast tacos and bacon (or beef), egg and cheese is a staple.

I'm originally from Florida and I honestly can't remember having too many instances of cheese on my scrambled eggs as a kid. But my mom would do what she called an "egg bagel sandwich" and that would have a slice of cheese on the egg in between the bagels.

So, bologna on wonder bread?

I admit it's not classy and certainly not a staple like the cheese sandwich I posted earlier. But it's my favorite breakfast sandwich.

Fried Bologna though...that's what I'm talking about. If this dude simply combined the sandwich powers and fried up some Falu and melted cheese on toasted bread that might just be god-tier.

Might have to try this... damn son

That looks like the "sandwich" they give kids who's lunch money account has gone negative.
