Halo: The Fall of Reach Animated Series Trailer

The only reason I'm getting the Digital Deluxe Edition, honestly. Looks good, and so awesome to see the Mark IV in there.

Looking forward to this but I'm not a fan of the visual animation style they went with. I'm very happy it isn't a motion comic though.

I've never owned a 360 or a One, and haven't played Halo since H2... but I'm really enjoying these movies and such that they are making...

I can't remember, has a run time for this been released? I actually might have to watch this before starting campaign, the book it's drawing from is too good, love that it's getting revisited.

This is awesome, the book is awesome, and my personal favourite Halo story. I remember reading the First Strike between Halo 1 and 2 and being so disappointed there was no Blue team in the game.

I also remember when Halo: Reach was announced I was so excited, till I realized it wasn't about Chief and Blue team.

With Halo 5 we finally get the 4 player co-op with Blue Team we deserve, and this series should help get people up to speed!

What would you rate the quality of the stuff released so far? Do you mean production quality of it's success as a form of storytelling?

I think everything from production quality to storytelling. Hunt the Truth, Live Action Launch trailers, and even The Sprint videos all have been phenomenal.

Yep nightfall seems to be the lone exception to that rule...hunt the truth has just been phenomenal and the new season seems to be if anything better with more action and new info

Nothing for nothing but these recent halo games seems to rely more and more on reading the books (or in this case skipping the book and watching the animated version). Shouldn't this be in game instead of spending money to see what should have been in there all along? (This is....partially bungies fault)

Saw some posts on r/games, shocked and annoyed that they would show Johns face and how's he supposed to faceless... It's like, "Guys, they described his face in the original novel in 2001, and then showed it in the comic adaptation, and then at the start of Halo 4 and then part of his adult face at the end of Halo 4. He's never truly been a faceless hero."

That would be awesome.

Any ballpark estimate on length? We looking at 15 minutes? Or closer to FUD length?

If you watch the three parts back to back it's more than an hour. All three available immediately at launch

And
we don't show his adult face in this

Can't wait. Always wanted to see the Fall of Reach book in some visual form.

So basically Hollywood movie length since now days a lot of movies are barely over an hour. lol

We have known that John is extremely pale since Halo the Flood...

People are stupid As others said he has been detailed in the books & comics. That's why I find it stupid that people have always been like NO DON'T SHOW HIS FACE! We already know
he was a freckle faced Ginger.

Correction:
John was described as having freckles as a kid but his hair is brown. Therefore not ginger. ;)

Mostly high, but I think the range in stylistic approaches (Halo Legends) and some of the execution for things like Terminals (Halo 2 Anniversary) were right on the border for me. For example, I thought the academy part of Forward Unto Dawn was fantastic, but the practical limitations in the special effects made the sections after the arrival of the Covenant less effective for me. Commercials like the short-cut of "We Are ODST" I think are legitimately some of the best composition I've ever seen for short format work. The "Believe" Campaign, too.

The trailer here is looking like the best we've seen of the motion-art/Terminal approach, and I'm danged excited for it.

Over an hour is a great chunk of time, I was worried if it was too short the story would suffer.

Yeah, I can see people's surprise at it. But I'm ok with it - it's his face as a child, they're roughly 16 when they get Mjonir armour right? And trying to hide his face with camera angles and shadows for an hour long thing would have felt seriously contrived watching it, distractingly so I bet.

It's his face as an adult I'm not interested in seeing. Stuff like just putting his helmet on as the camera reaches him in the Blue Team cinematic is great. Gave me strong Halo CE ending vibes.

I'm probably not getting any of the editions this comes with, but I'm excited to see it once available outside of those. I have wanted to see The Fall of Reach visualized in action since reading it so many years ago.

If this is successful I'd love to see more, like First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx.

is Steve Downes justing narrating the trailer, or is he also going to be voicing the Chief in this, hopefully he is

I'd imagine as the story gets closer to present day, he will take over. Since it's seems like the story actually goes up to Halo 5.

Forgive my dumbness,
How is 117 in this? I thought John woke up after Reach already fell.

John and the other spartans grew up on reach. He was there at the battle of reach but left before it fell.
It looks like this will cover the book almost to a T from these snippets in the trailer so you'll see what happens and how you end up on the ship in cryo in the beginning of halo 1.

I can't wait to watch this on the 27th. Fall of Reach is probably my favourite piece of Sci-Fi literature. And I'll buy the Blu Ray the day it releases to add to my collection of Halo Blu Ray movies.

looks interesting, but still not sure if I want to pay 40 extra bucks for the LE.

EDIT: And if I do get this frankie, will I be able to watch it from Xbox.com, or from a PC?
Because I have very limited data cap, but can get internet on my laptop at public places...
