Well I can by the way they play and their style. I knew I would play Dudley and Hugo before I got to touch them in sf4 since I knew I loved their tool sets and what thier goals are as a character from 3s. Of course they weren't carbon copies but I wouldn't want them to be as I wanted to how their playstyles would work in the new engine.

Axl? The guy on the taiko drums? He has the same headband/similar haircut as Alex, but not that color scheme.

Out of curiosity, why do people insist that any reference to an existing fighter other than putting them in is a troll? I remember seeing people call the K Rool costume from smash a troll, maybe it's just meant as a friendly nod in case they can't put them in as playable.
 
BTW that hot dog stand on the NYC stage... I'm sure Aris is pleased right now.

EDIT- OMG... we got the noodle hat already... god knows what the hot dog finisher is going to be! LMAO

That's a good point and astute observation but it's less exciting than Alex so I'm staying on-board till Ono-troll knocks me off.

Troll has evovled in such a way it can basically mean friendly nod at this point.

That's so weird. So basically the word troll's become so prolific that it's lost any actual meaning so people throw it around without any real cause or rationale?

It's not that they "can't" make him playable. They're choosing not to. Same thing they did in SF4. They are choosing to not include him. Putting in an unplayable shitty low poly model is not a "friendly nod". It's more of a passive taunt.

Because it's considered insulting to fans. It's like saying "oh here take this that will clearly make you all shut up, even though it isn't even close to what your asking for."

How is that insulting? Remember when Hugo was first shown in the background of that SF4 stage? I remember thinking "oh that's kinda neat". Is the Fei Long poster in the china stage a troll too?

Plus Capcom just puts characters in backgrounds... the Alpha games had Haggar, Strider, Morrigan, and Felicia in the backgrounds... people are thinking way too hard about this.

The internet tends to do that. Like literally now meaning not literally.
 
It's more like when a character that actually has a strong fanbase of people wanting them in a game is put into a background or costume do I consider it trolling. Otherwise nobody cares. So those old pics of random non related characters really mean nothing.

Predator), Felicia (Darkstalkers) and Pure the Mage from Capcom World 2.

Yeah none of those characters have fanbases right?
