Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

You don't like something, don't buy it. If you wanna go one step further, let the company know your concerns.

Saying it's an "insult" every time you don't get what you want, exactly how you want it is just melodramatic.

Your favorite character not being in the game but only as a cameo.... Is not a threat.

It really isn't that serious.. Goddam.

It sounds to me they want a product worth the money they plan on paying for it

It sounds to me they want exactly the content they demand and are willing to ignore the wealth of content provided to them. You seriously think Smash isn't worth the sticker price without K. Rool? Come on.

edit^^^ From left to right the characters are: Lord Raptor, Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling from Darkstalkers, the two Unknown Soldiers from Forgotten Worlds, Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers), Jumbo Flapjack and Biff Slamkovich (Saturday Night Slam Masters), Eliza (Ken's wife), Ginzu and Captain Commando from Captain Commando, Michelle Heart (Legendary Wings), Strider Hiryu (Strider), Linn Kurosawa (Aliens Vs. Predator), Felicia (Darkstalkers) and Pure the Mage from Capcom World 2.

Yeah none of those characters have fanbases right?

No that's just fans writing fan fiction
Ugh if the background characters were never heavily wanted in the game by a large fanbase then it's not trolling. If it's a character that's actually wanted and possibly expected by the fans it is trolling.

I think the only good thing about Smash 4 is it's fighting engine being fun. The added content from brawl to smash 4 is pretty garbage for a game that takes along time to get a sequel and a lot of the new character additions are pretty garbage. I only bought it because I like fighting games.

And even when enjoying the fighting engine, Project Ms engine is just so much better that I mostly play it.

Well, that certainly is the stage from Ken's artwork

And that certainly is a guy resembling Alex wearing shirt in the background

I'm not even mad, I was just feeling yesterday like we wouldn't actually get another character reveal at NYCC, at least not Alex.

It really is a tragedy that every copy of of SFIII will be wiped off the face of the earth once SFV is released.

What metric is used to measure this demand?

Several stages have easter eggs in them. The China stage has an ad for a Fei-Long movie. The London stage features a poster of Haggar, Cody, Guy, and Maki. Japan features Dan or someone dressed up as him. It's not trolling. They're just there for fan service.

Megaman X as a costume in Marvel 3 was a huge troll the amount of people who wanted him was crazy but to be fair Capcom hates Megaman just like sf3.

Out of curiosity, why do people insist that any reference to an existing fighter other than putting them in is a troll? I remember seeing people call the K Rool costume from smash a troll, maybe it's just meant as a friendly nod in case they can't put them in as playable.

We love confirmation bias, confirmed.

Interesting. I have pretty much the exact opposite opinion for the newcomers. I think they're the best and most diverse of any group in the series. I'd talk more, but this isn't the Smash thread, ha.

All that said... yeahno, that's still not Alex.

Like that time they trolled me with Linn Kurosawa in that 2i stage, right guys?????

edit: look at that alpha stage trolling guys

The greatest stage of all time?

Some guy on the internet getting his feelings hurt because this game might not tick the SFIII checkbox on launch.

Man, people went crazy so I guess people are really thirsty for more information!

Edited: Seriously, I really like New York City stage. It just felt right to me.

Right. It'd be trolling if they did something to fuck with/dump on the character, but dude's just fixing a car in casual clothes. Whatever.

Hell, even bad boxart Mega Man in SFxT wasn't seen as mean-spirited trolling until every other Mega Man thing being worked on at the time got shitcanned.

Edit:
Even if that dude is Alex... Not having long hair makes it very possible he gets in eventually
Are you sure... that's what makes it possible?

Did "slight redesign" not cross any minds in this thread?

Even if that dude is Alex... Not having long hair makes it very possible he gets in eventually

Yeah, it means Capcom put some effort into giving him a redesign, which I doubt they'd do if he were just going to be a background character. It would also mean that they put more thought into his design than they did for Zangief or Cammy.

That looks like Alex, and I mean he could just be a background character when he isn't selected. Not sure how it would mean he'd never show up playable.

So it looks like its happening just like I predicted.

NYCC will have the NY Stage and an Alex tease for DLC.

And a character being in the background doesn't deconfirm shit. Rog/Vega are in the background in SF4. Hugo was in the background for SSF4.

It actually makes sense for Alex to be just chilling in NYC, seeing as Gill fucking up Tom in NG caused Alex to start going out fighting. At this point in time he'd just be training.

If you think Capcom putting a character in the background is considering "trolling" and it insults you, then you know you need to stop. And the whole "Capcom hates 3s" thing is funny considering 3 got a lot of characters in 4 and 3s got re-released with online.

Guess that debunks the Alex/Urien leak?

Not really.
I don't think that Urien and Alex are in the launch roster at this point but Alex being in a stage (if that is him) doesn't mean anything. Look at the airfield stage in 4.
And Siliconera only said they'd be playable. Never said anything about at launch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They only love 3s as much as there are 3s characters in the game I'm talking about in this sentence.

I know it's a pipe dream to think we'll get anything else, but it is it confirmed that we're still pre-3S?

And that doesn't look quite like Alex, but this'd be far from the first time a fighting game character has been a background character in a stage when (s)he wasn't playable. Like that South African airfield stage in SFIV, where the Bison/Balrog/Vega trio appeared in the plane depending on who was in the fight itself, for instance.

Anyways, if it's Alex, it's a janky looking Alex. Enough so to make it plausible that it isn't him.

More interesting: the license plate reads 'SSFV,' and there's a Cafe Eliza in the back too

There's still no confirmation but it's looking very likely to be pre SF3 but post SF4.
