Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I was referring to SF2 characters in my post. Birdie got a redesign because almost nobody cared about him in the first place, Vega got a shirt, and Gief looks the exact same. I was talking about physical appearance. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

But even in terms of gameplay, I wouldn't say the SF2 cast has gotten "heavy redesigns".

Yes we were talking about different stuff haha, I meant gameplay redesign sorry. I don't care about looks that much:P

Put Dhalsim into some jeans, grow his hair out, give him sunglasses, beef him up a bit, give him a love backstory with Chun Li so now you have something for story mode

awesome character

In terms of character design they wont change sim, maybe playstyle but not design.

Also your username makes me not trust your opinion.

Playstyle is what matters tho

Ken is looking really interesting. His v-skill is still weird but Momichi is beginning to make it and the Dive Kick work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DB3Pgfn2Z8&ab_channel=HotYouTubeVideoChannnel
What's that launcher that combos into fireball at 1:07? Is that how Crush Counter look like against airborne opponents?

Good video, though. Probably the highest level of gameplay I've seen so far.

edit: Happens again later, I guess that's just his Crush Counter.

Hello SF-GAF. I do not play SF but this video popped up on my Facebook feed today and it made me think of that Brazilian lady who recently got announced:

So I'm going to take a guess that each stage is probably hinting who the DLC characters are.

- NYC/Metro City is just blatant Alex that turns around when you land a throw.
- Fei Long movie poster in China
- Final Fight gang poster in London
- New Zealand has an area behind the waterfall that looks linked to Gill/Urien

I hope so!

I don't even understand why they had two separate panels at NYCC. Their whole plan makes no sense to me.

I still think Alex is gonna be in the game but I feel super disappointed right now. Ugh.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that Necalli and Alex are sort of similar a basic level.
-A forward advancing charge move
-An anti air motion move (Necalli's is no longer a charge.)
-A command grab.
Whether Necalli fills Alex's role, idk.

The only 2 similarities I see are a forward advancing charge move and the command grab. Having two moves in common does not fill a niche. Otherwise my examples above would also be correct.

I would probably speculate that they had larger plans originally for NYCC and perhaps had to scale them down. Since Sony is paying for the game, safe bet they want a stage presentation at PSX for the story mode and single player stuff. Since Capcom Cup is also happening at that event, we'll probably see the final character reveal there as well.

I know right absolutely worthless to have that separate presentation. Capcom just wasted money to hire a stage to do nothing productive.

They were talking about this on ultrachen. That Necali already fills the potential niche that Alex would bring to the game.

This is not true at all. Ken and Ryu dont play alike and neither to Mika and Gief

I find it amazing how we have people trying to argue that Ryu and Ken AREN'T similar on the same page that people are trying to argue that Necalli and Alex (wtf?) are similar.

Those two arguments cannot exist in the same UNIVERSE, let alone the same page on a forum.

Ryu and Ken literally developed from clone-dom...share the same movelist...share a similar background in the lore...
Yet, Necalli and Alex are the similar ones?

Alex and Necalli are similar in that they share some moves at a really basic, simplified level. That's all I said. Nowhere did I argue that Ryu and Ken weren't similar or anything of the sort

sigh *unzips*

IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED GAF??!!! HUUH!?! YOU MADE ME DO THISS! I told you all this would happen!

And I just finished awhile ago too!

I know we generally like to think positively about our favorite series, but anyone else suspect there's going to be microtransactions of the consumable variety (i.e. 2/3/4x zenny multipliers) in the final game?

It would both complement the in-game currency system, and partially offset the fact that some DLC characters are simply not going to sell as well as others (especially if they plan to include more oddballs for gameplay diversity).

No... because you just buy Zenny straight up with cash, fight money is the currency you earn by playing the game.

Ah my mistake, all this time I thought zenny was the currency earned by playing the game. Well, just assign the hypothetical multiplier consumable to fight money then, lol.

Im just saying they have different playstyles even though they share the same moves. This is even more true in sf5. I dunno about necalli and alex being similar.
