PAL Charts - Week 41, 2015

Would be nice to get a lock on what the 7th best debuting PS4 game was this year and get some UC collection numbers?

Anyone got an idea?

1. Fifa 16 - 422,550
2. Batman: Arkham Knight > 134,000
3. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - 122,300
4. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - 110,250
5. The Elder Scrolls Online (no platform splits were given) all formats >114,000<175,000 (I placed it 5th but this is just my assumption)
6. Battlefield: Hardline - 52,440

Others:

Bloodborne - 42,800
Destiny: The Taken King - 38,100

Mortal Kombat X >37,500
The Order 1886 >34,500<44,900
Dying Light >30,200<39,200

Missing Project Cars numbers which could have had a great launch and most sales were on PS4 (63%)

I'd say that wasn't a good debut for The Nathan Drake collection, I expected more from it even for a remaster, we'll see how it does next week though.

Animal Crossing and (especially) Forza 6 with better holds than I thought this week.

It will have selt really well digitally, it's been front centre on the ps store front for sometime now and was also under the normal £54.99 price with it coming in under £50 cheaper than a lot f retail stores. No surprise at rock and bombing most people got rid of there plastic shit so entry price to rock and 4 is over £100.

I doubt it.

Online it's been easily found for under-£40 in most places.

This wasn't a DLC/expansion, physical sales should still be more than 50%.

I expected 80k+, it sold about half of that, it did have a late release though, so we'll see how it does next week.

Yeah, it is lower than expected. I wonder what, if any, impact Simply Games had too. They were the cheapest and once word spread of them dispatching a week early, a couple of friends I know that don't follow games that closely switched to them without me telling them it had happened.

If we get word that it's one of UAE's most shipped games, we know what helped :P

So NDC sold between 42,8k - 52,44k

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is the 8th biggest PS4 launch.

It's a shame that we don't know what's the maximum upper range for Mortal Kombat X because it could be the 7th biggest launch and without knowing that, there is no way to have a more accurate range of sales for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. At least we can say that it sold over 38,100 units (and evidently less than 52,400 units)

Yeah, but I doubt the sales there were significant enough to make it double its sales.

Well im surprised Uncharted didnt hit top spot, but people do love the Fifa over here.Poor Transformers,i expected top 20 at least but damn,a great game to.

Thanks very much Bruno.

I'd peg UC collection at about 50k which is alright for a remastered game with only two days of tracking.

In any case I think this should do well over Xmas as a bundle for little Timmy.

That one is still a top 10 seller for the month of September... just unreal.

Yeah. GTA doesnt mess around. That game alone I think is pushing 60 million copies sold these days.

But I do mean debut week sales. TLOU and MCC are probably the closet in terms of popularity I guess. Oh and Gears Remastered. I kinda forgot that existed.

Huh? Uncharted collection sold less than FIFA 16 PS4 version. That means it most likely sold less than 40K, 50K at best. (FIFA 16 is 100K this week)

Damn! Really underwhelming sales.

Well, maybe people wait for the european price cut to get the NDC Bundle.
And NDC isn't a new game, so it is totally ok to wait some weeks, especially when a new Fifa is out.

BTW: Biu hasn't updated their german sales awards for quite some time. Juli was the last update. August should have been out for weeks. Hope they don't stop it, but they are probably just lazy.

Had a good laugh when people tried to constantly downplay GTAV remaster before release "because everybody already played it on PS3/X360"). That IP is a monster.

V online has just sent it into the stratosphere. I mean, a single player only V would have done great anyway, but the way some people love that has sent it nuts.

I was expecting more from the Uncharted Collection (in the UK) but its going to be heavily bundled and will do well this holiday.

Im not sure about the 2 day tracking comments though, most games come out in the UK on a Friday? Although some of the biggest ones don't anymore

Yeah, I wouldn't say a Friday release is much of a factor here.

^^ Yeah, if it released on Tuesday, the difference would probably be no more than 10k-20k, which would put it at 60k-70k, not terrible, but not great either.

I don't know how 10 million (for UC3) is "yet to go mainstream", that's almost twice as high as Fallout 3 & Mass Effect 3 for example, & it was released on only one platform.

Regardless, I don't think UC3 sold that impressively in the UK anyway, wasn't it around 120k? So most of its sales were probably in continental Europe & other parts of the world. Either that, or it had impressive legs.

Fair point, I didn't realise Uncharted 3 went that high actually. In that case, I take it back. I've always felt like Uncharted is one of those series that's adored in hardcore circles, but hasn't quite broken through to the mainstream yet. Clearly the numbers say something different.

Surprised at Uncharted, thought it would do more since it's been advertised quite heavily on TV here and they're a good port/games. No doubt it'll have decent legs with bundles then U4 hype kicking in straight after though.

Was expecting Uncharted to be nº1 since Fifa is in its third week.

I don't get how people can still have this impression at this point, especially with the insane marketing push UC3 got. It's been 6 years since the release of UC2 which was the breakthrough moment for the franchise.

The hunger for remakes probably isn't all that strong anymore since we're getting plenty of new games. Uncharted should remain high in the charts for awhile though since in the UK they count bundled copies.

That deduction wasn't necessarily wrong in every way, the franchise didn't start selling those numbers until the third one, the first one was bundles fodder & it didn't sell that well, & the second one - while critically acclaimed - still sold less than 5 million by the time UC3 released, UC3 meanwhile sold 3.8 million in its launch day alone, that's faster than any Halo game. It's a growing franchise that sold significantly better with every successive entry, that's why the numbers for the NDC are disappointing (in the UK at least, we don't know how it did everywhere else).

man, i didnt want to think about it but transformers did bad right? when i see the trophy stats its like only us in the OT played the game lol

only very rare to ultra rare, even fucking Saint Seiya Soldiers Soul has better trophy stats. probably it isnt a good way to measure success but it sucks because the game is freaking good

UC3 didn't sell trough anywhere close to 3.8 million during its launch day. Those were sold in figures.

Trophy stats are a percentage of who has played the game, so you can't determine sales from them.

Sony's remaster strategy doesn't seem to be working. Gonna wait till UC is discounted before picking it up.

Yep, selling millions of games with minimal investment to a whole new audience of PS gamers is a failure.

Uncharted seems fine going by estimates of 48k to 50k.

It's SP only right now so there's no rush to buy, the extra value of the Beta has no value until the beta starts and the whole endeavour is clearly aimed at a slow burn to get new people into the franchise when U4 launches.

I expect decent sales with holiday bundle and Beta commencement spikes up until U4 launches. After U4 I can see it gaining further traction from those who dive in with U4 and decide a low price remaster is worth a dip to double back on the story.

The franchise has always been about legs and given the remaster loses the coop/MP from originals is say around 50k first two days in UK is pretty good.

Platinum on the other hand can't seem to pick a winner no matter what. Pity but par for the course I guess.

FIFA continues to FIFA.
